This video tutorial walks users through creating a new email address in their cPanel web host, then setting up Gmail as their email client so the user can send and receive email using their professional email address in Gmail.
Guys, when I send mail through SMTP server and click 'add account', I get error '550 Please turn on SMTP Authentication in your mail client. '. How to resolve it?
Hey, I solved it. Who has the same problem just go to Email Routing in Email section, choose your domain and change Remote Mail Exchanger to Local

In my GMAIL account, WHILE ADDING ANOTHER EMAIL ADDRESS POP-UP :Send mail through your SMTP server..
What is this Message?
"Authentication failed. Please check your username/password.
Server returned error: "TLS Negotiation failed, the certificate doesn't match the host., code: 0"
For the SMTP Settings gives error as " Authentication failed. Please check your username/password" whereas i am using the correct password. Whereas the POP3 Server is configured all fine. Did anyone faced the same issue? if yes, was its solved, please help!

550-Please turn on SMTP Authentication in your mail client. For this problem go to EMail Routing and set to Local Mail Exchange and repeat the procedure from beginning
at verification step, instead of receiving confirmation code, it says : Address not found !! I just copied the email address how's that possible ?
I did not receive gmail confirmation code due to whic mail is not working for me. Please help

When i did this from a new email in siteground to my personal gmail account it worked. But when trying to do the same and get the emails redirected to a google suite account it says thats SMPT servers are needed within the domain. Someone has solved this?
Did everthing step by step,., before it got to the verification part it just logged me into my gmail account in the pop up window..
then I got an email saying it blocked a login attenpt.. Help??

Very helpful video! But what if we use that Gmail account in Thunderbird/Outlook, does that clients know about this two-three email addresses accessed from the same account? There can we check to which account was an email sent and from what we send a reply? Thanks!

Does this method use the gmail server to store future emails and not take up space on your personal server space???
i dont think so, because its using the incoming server from your hosting, so in other words gmail(outlook too) is just a client to write and read emails

i see that the emails from the webmail (provided by cpanel) inbox and sent folder automatically delete once they land in gmail (which is good as it takes less space). Is that part of this technique?
You can check "Leave a copy of email at server" and it will retain a copy of received email at the cpanel's webmail too.

Excellent video. Thank you very much. Just one thing, in March 2019- in cpanel> Home> Email Accounts, we have to go to 'Connect Devices' - to get to 'Set Up Mail Client' . Rest everything goes as it says in the video. Thanks again👍😀

I ended up figuring it out. For those that may have the same problem, see below.
Solution: Cpanel>MX Entry> Switched to "Local Mail Exchanger"

I tried your method but after redoing it again I still get an error... The message is not delivered to send my 'work email' the verification code.
"The response was:
550 Please turn on SMTP Authentication in your mail client. mail-wm0-f45.google.com [74.125.82.45]:50815 is not permitted to relay through this server without authentication."
Tried figuring it out myself but no luck. Any suggestions?

Is it so that you can check all your email in your gmail in your browser - rather than an email client?
I mean, why not just use client on your desktop/phone that pulls in all accounts?
Does gmail take over the handling of the email - it sounds like it is just pulling it in from your personal web server.

Great tutorial. Quick question. If I have my gmail account set up in my iPhone. How do I make it so any outgoing emails from my phone are sent from the “@domainname.com” email address? After setting this up, if I send from the linked gmail account on my phone, it defaults to the gmail account as the sender and there is no option to change it to the domain name email address.
