Thanks so much Caroline! I never thought I would be able to say to a 50 year old "you're just a baby!" I had my doubts starting a You Tube at age 67, thinking the worst that could happen is folks falling asleep to my videos! That's not such a bad thing either. Many happy returns of the day! That last ghost print is cool. The layer of paint was thin enough on the right to pull all of those lovely colors, and the thick red layer on the left has your scribble detail. I like it.

I loved this video. Have you considered using a clear acrylic medium when you have a beautiful grunge gel plate to put only the grunge on an existing piece? I love your methods.
Yes, matte medium is expensive though, there are cheaper ways to get effects.
I find your work just breath taking! I especially like the red one. I was curious are you aloud to use acrylic ink on the plate?
Thank you for sharing your techniques and creative processes. Would you please tell what size gelli plate you are using? I would also like to know the size and type of paper you use to pull your prints. The imagery always come out so perfect. The prints I make do not always come out so precise and it becomes frustrating. I am left wondering what could I be doing wrong that causes this happen. Plate size is 16 in. X 20 in from jerrysartarama.com the paper is Somerset English paper 22 in x 30 in, 140 lb white
Don't worry about being "precise" what's more important is to have a good command of your materials and know how to navigate when faced with problems. That only comes with much practice.

Great stuff Fulton..very relaxing to watch you ! Some workmen just spilled black paint on my grass today ! it's water based black wood stain ...do you think the grass will be ok ? Looks like an art project at the minute with black blotches on the very green freshly mown lawn !!! Shocking ! i'm worried that the paints shouldn't be wased down the drain ...Is it ok to wash acrylic paint down the drain ?
acrylic is way safer than oil based anytime. If the grass doesn't grow back have you considered planting wildflower beds instead? It's better for the bees and other pollinators.

It the oil massage technique that you generously shared. Forget about any ghost prints! Is your studio humid or something? I can't seem to get good prints using the same brands you use and different sorts of paper.
What am I be doing wrong? Help!

either your paints are too thick or your work area is too dry. You will need to experiment with different mixes of paint and some water to make a successful transfer. Here in New York we have an old saying How to get to Carnegie Hall? PRACTICE PRACTICE PRACTICE!
Love to know what kinds of papers you are printing on. Somerset, Fabriano hot press Paper, Dick Blick cold press watercolor paper. These are the ones I heard on some of your videos. Are these correct?
