    Thanks for showing your struggles with that one piece. It’s difficult trying not to «kill your darlings», but I understand that it’s necessary most of the time 😊

      You are very welcome Anne. I agree, it is still difficult for me to lose those gems. Taking a photo of the part I love helps me to be braver with covering it up. Keep telling yourself that you created the gem before and you can create it again.. and probably better the next time. Thank you for your comment 🎨🤗

    I just spent a happy half hour making 4 littlies with a similar palette to yours, painting along with your very calming voice in the background 😊. I’m now about where you started at the beginning of this video, so they can dry overnight and it’s going to be lines playtime tomorrow. Thankyou❤

      Kam, thank you so much for your feedback! You are right, I can vocalize more of the thoughts which were going on in my head. I appreciate you making me aware of that, and I will say more of why I think something works and doesn't work in my upcoming videos. Cheers 🎨🤗

    Interesting, i really like your painted edge lines, and you thought they were too much. 😂 I discovered these kinds of lines from my "under paper", as the paint goes over the edge of my journal. Now i go out of my way to try and make them. ❤

      I love that discovery you made! If you are like me, you probably have a lot of under paper to choose from. I don't throw much out unless it is beyond useable 😂

    I just Love your whole style Lynette!! New subscriber! Thanks for continuing the video!! What is your original substrate for these? 😊

    • @lynettemelnyk
      @lynettemelnyk  Месяц назад +1

      Thank you so much! I appreciate you loving my style and being a subscriber. For the substrate, it is little board books for children 😀 I have found a couple (not many) in the little library stands that people or communities have in their yard, or buy them cheap at the dollar stores. They don't warp like a paper does with all the layers. If the surface is glossy to begin with, you may want to rough it up with sandpaper or just scratching it, to make sure the first layer adheres well to the board. If you try these please let me know. Enjoy!

    Nice process! I have purchased some fine fine applicators a couple of years ago. I am inspired to try. Do you mix with a medium or water… What proportion, please? Do you have these glued on a board?

    • @lynettemelnyk
      @lynettemelnyk  Месяц назад +1

      Thank you Maureen, I am happy that you are going to try the fine tip applicators. I don't use specific proportions, because I don’t always use the same paint brand available. I use acrylic paint, water and a little medium. I judge it by how runny it is. With some experiments you will find what consistency that you like. I use the medium because if I use too much water the paint breaks and is too diluted. Some brands reach this point quicker than others. If you get to that point, add more paint to try to bring it back. The substrate I have used for this abstract collages is board books that you can buy for cheap in stores in the kids section. The thickness doesn’t warp very much in my experience. I hope that helps. Have fun trying it! 🎨❤

    Its hard creating and making videos. For this abstract art we have to let go of thought and try and get in the right brain. I think all these formulas confuse the process. My painting was better before I watched all the utube videos.

    • @lynettemelnyk
      @lynettemelnyk  28 дней назад

      Thank you Mary for your feedback. You are absolutely correct that we need to let go of the logical thinking and get into the intuitive right brain to let the creativity flow. For some artists these videos are helpful at the time of painting to explain one’s process, for others they are helpful to watch and take in just the nuggets of information that resonate with them, and for others the videos may not be the best way for them to create. I love that we are all unique as artists and we learn and can choose how it is best for us as individuals to be creative and let the magic happen, because being in the flow of creating is a great experience. Happy painting! 🎨❤
