its identical to the menu music from the first game but more sinister and cinematic. meanwhile the ingame music is mostly atmospheric less cinematic then in the first game. i hope we get some gorgeous tracks like "the shepherd", "the city must not fall" or "the inevitable" from the first game
That's the cool bit, I swear my brain is picking up tiny snippets of the three pieces you've mentioned. Just enough to where my brain can recognize it's presence but not enough to trust it. It's neat to feel as though it's a message that though this is the same New London we raised from the ground 30 years ago -- it's people, it's scale, it's cultures -- have all become rather unfamiliar to it's initial roots. Brings me back to the statements in the On The Edge DLC, the snow is ever-changing
The in game music in the beta was a bit too subdued imo, I do hope we get some great epic tracks at full release, half the time in the beta i thought the music stopped playing.
We probably will, seeing as the beta was basically just a preview of FP2's endless mode. The story scenarios will probably have just as impactful music as in FP1.
From the moment i understood the weakness of our city, it disgusted me. I crave the strength of the generator and the cold steel that surrounds it for our city, to stand tall and strong. One day the crude frostland you call "your city" will crumble and you will beg my kind to save you. But i am already saved. For the city has survived. Even in snow, i serve the machine god
Yea they had the same guy, so this is most likely going to have a ton of elements used from the first OST, just this'll be the evolution of that into something great? Or worse in a way based on what the story is, it might be a greater civilization that rivals modern ones, or it could be something much much much worse, but hopefully the OST is as good if not better then the first :D
This definitely has a much more uplifting yet at the same time dramatic depressing element to it, it sounds like there's going to be a very large struggle we're going to have to get threw soully based on the music
On The Edge DLC kinda sums up of what the future is going to be. Just like snow, deals tend to change. In a more philosophical sense, people in the Frostpunk universe have been dealing this whole time. They would deal their time to work for food and shelter. However, just like snow, people’s wants tends to change and eventually the people will demand more than just food and shelter, straying away from their initial reason to live in the first place as a society. The storm in the first Frostpunk game is going to be nothing compared to the next Storm that is coming
music 101 : how to make different music but feels the same... Leitmotif. this main menu just hooked me i remember sitting for 10 mins in main menu to listen to the music, and prepare to throw away every bit of my humanity before starting the prologue... Also yes, casted away the elders and eat sealion... i cried...
I'm so proud that Frostpunk came from my homeland! Greetings from Poland, where winter can be colder than in Siberia and summer warmer than in Greece or Italy.
Playing this game after playing the first game is so damn cool, seriously they did well on this game, and that’s rare, for a dev team to stay true to their games roots and keep their standards up, it’s rare in the gaming industry and for that so long as they keep it up these developers will always have my respect and support.
I wont play until full release but it looks hella good so far, i was kind of scared because new IPS and sequels often get overhyped and come out really bad. Glad the game still have the same "feel" as the first frostpunk game, while also making it unique to its own. :D
it makes you wonder, if by the end of the Frostpunk timeline, people would even count as people anymore. Being mistreated by decades of deathly cold and struggle, will humankind be the same after the new ice age passes?
Alrightie folks the release has happened for the folks that spent money on the deluxe version (me, lmao) Comparing this with the main menu theme we got in the files right now, and my god the final version of this track feels so much more grand and fleshed out. The delay on this game's release definitely gave the developers more time to cook, both with the music and the game itself. May New London and her colonies prosper, good luck Stewards
Hello, a month late and post-launch for pre-buyers. Wish sort-of granted, maybe not as dark as you'd like it to be, but it's definitely become hauntingly beautiful WHILE maintaining the cinematic feel. It does remain a relatively subjective opinion though, but definitely give the final release version a listen!

Amazing! Thanks for the upload New Londoner. May the Eternal Generator warm your heart.
And may the Steward keep the city from falling
May the atomatons protect us
this is the most frostpunk way to say “god bless you” i love it

See you on launch fellow machinist!
God the Frostpunk leitmotif hits so hard, and I love how its a new song but still so familiar.
Seriously though, the leitmotifs of Frostpunk are so well crafted that they can fit in any song.
thank you dude I loved the OG frostpunk soundtrack and this one doesn't disappoint
They had the same Composer so I wouldn't have doubted it wasn't going to be good

Dude, the soundtrack is crazy in both Frostpunk and Frostpunk 2
Yes! I was looking for this all yesterday. I'm glad you came in clutch!
Sounds like The City Must Survive.
The inevitable - The last autumn
@@gelito6978 Oh yeah, that one too.
That is the main theme of Frost punk, This will always be the main rendition and I love it.
While the main menu does look cool, I do hope they will make a cool semi interactive one like in Frostpunk 1.
Its most likely a place holder for the beta
Гудок, ветер, течение времени, надежда на благополучное развитие, в конце звуки того что не всё так радужно и оптимистично.
Suena precioso este soundtrack y eso que es la beta no puedo esperar al juego ya en condiciones. De momento excelente juego.

We’re making it outta the storm with this one 🗣️🗣️🗣️

I wish the closed beta was longer than a week. I missed out on it because I had to write a paper.
Don't worry you didn't miss much. The beta is very limited.
The stop at 2:20 made me stress so much
Tell Piotr that his music will be eternal, No matter how many empires are born and fall; We and our generations will listen to his legacy.

I will like to thank you for saving all the music so far, I was going to do it, but i see i don't need to.

Ive been looking forward to this game exclusively for the soundtrack 😅

Got the deluxe edition too and can totally agree
Piotr really outdid himself
Piotr Musial GOTY
Awesome...

Struggle. Hope. Suffering.
Could you also get some of the ingame soundtracks ?
I could I just don't know what to name them since the game files are limited due to it being a beta.
@@TheHigherHigher "Frostpunk 2 Beta OST #1" then #2 and so on.
@@govsecret536 yeah I was gonna do that
Omg yes, I need the ost
The OST is great so far, wish it was on Spotify or something from 11 bit so I could get all of it!
My dream is to play this game in Antarctica xd
YES!!! YES!!! FRUATPUNK 2!!! YEA COMRADE, CITY MOST SURVIVAL!!!... Why no?... Oh no... Comrade... Generator... NO... NO!!!
FIRE!!!
The hell is this darkwood image about?! Bizarre placeholder
I know that from The last autumn
