thank you, it really is. another comment said how they just froze in real life when it happened to them for the first time, and I agree, the audiovisual feast is so good
worse thinking you are prepared, I discovered I was not... shutting down more and more districts to conserve heat demand overclocking food as much as I could as I the storm was lasting much longer than I anticipated
As much as I like FP2 OST whenever I listen to it on it's own I feel like it's missing "context" of the game and actions that are happening in the background to justify how dramatic some sections of it are. Adding voice lines from the game and ambient sounds fills that void too well, bravo. I wish devs did full mix of the OST in that style 🔥
6:50 I remember I was sorely underprepared for the first whiteout and I just sat in front of my screen and let it all happen, this perfectly evokes this memory
oh yeah. The line delivery is excellent. The whiteouts? The voice is stern but still tense - they've been through this, yet it's still a catastrophe. A Civil War? Nobody in the city has ever expierienced this yet, and the distress is palpable. I actually found 3 variations of this voice line, and one of them basically had the guys voice break at every word, I was tempted to use it but it honestly felt a bit - childish? Maybe if I'd put like 5 death bells before it would make sense:D But I was taken off guard with it
Thanks for sharing where to get the voices. I'm planning a frostpunk DND campaign with a running motif that the voices in the background music get progressively more angry as the campaign gets more dire
The campaign sounds lovely! I think some horns and sirens from the generator will also spruce up the feel when you're announcing something, they're also posted there
Shit dude really? I've been running a Frostpunk game for the past 4-5 years. Made the players scouts and it evolved from there. Got tons of maps and assets.
I was waiting for this video, awesome, just like the previous ones! This time, the old enemy is nothing than an annoyance, for which your city fights itself on how to resolve. Sadly, no matter how good you do, how fair you are, someone will dislike what you do, hate your decisions despite the results an, eventually, lead to war.
Indeed, the weather is a monolithic, unchanging force, unlike the thunder that are the people living in the city. I did wish I could dedicate more time to the tensions rising in the city in the video, but a 30 minute POV video is just too much
"Anger has blinded us all, can't you see it!?!?!? Can't you see how this will be our doom!?!? Not the cold, not the storms nor the lack of resources! *Us!!* *US!!!!!"* - Last recorded words of the Steward before being resigned of his position by being outvoted 55-45
All men dream: but not equally. Those who dream by night in the dusty recesses of their mind wake in the day to find that it was vanity: but the dreamers of the day are dangerous men, for they act out their dream with open eyes, to make it possible. T.E Lawrence of Arabia
Not being able to reconcile both perfectly valid visions of the future is the stupidity in this case. It's the entire point of the game; we're not more free when apart. If the Steward antagonises a group of people just because they don't exactly align with how things were run, then that's the problem. The City needs as many ideas as possible if they are to survive in the future.
Besides the Old Dreadnought ones I've encountered them all in game. A lot of them are situational, maybe you simply haven't poured enough time to expierience them all yet?:D
@@FemboyDisciples2 I'm definitely more catering to adaptation and equality, can't really decide which faction I'd go for 100%. I would say Evolvers because they follow the adaptatonist ethos without shunning technology but the merit part of them throws me off. how much hours of playtime you got? a lot of them are situational that occur only once (like the one for Winterhome) and you can easily miss them if you speed through the game. Besides the Old Dreadnought lines I've heard them all in game
FP1: Survive Nature
FP2: Survive Human Nature
Nailed it.
the whiteout edit is peak,
facing your first whiteout completely unprepared is truly one of those gaming moments, you won't forget easily

13:51 you know it’s bad when even the announcer sounds stressed.

Rember, reject progress. Embrace adaptation. This comment was made by icebloods and pilgrims gang (bohemians and reformers dont exsist)

Adaptation, Merit, Tradition supremacy.
How dare you equality progress and reason for the win, only through leveling and total automation shall the city thrive.

So many of these voice lines, I've never once heard in-game. Why is that?
You need to be zoomed into the city and playing in 1 or 2 speed to hear.
