I had a lot of questions on where this one will be available. Mattel said New Eternia Whiplash will be Target Exclusive this Summer, then available to all retailers starting in the Fall.
Will you get and review the selftransforming and voice controlled Optimus Prime?
What about the question on when retail will receive wave 9,10, 11,12 and 13 of origins

I can't wait to get ahold of this one and give him some custom paint. I've customized nearly every Masterverse figure I've purchased. This is definitely a line that gets to that 90 yard line. The sculpts are amazing with a fantastic level of detail, but suffer from mass production paint jobs. I usually add some washes, drybrushing and minor detailing to pick out the sculpt. It makes a world of difference and I really enjoy interacting with the figures in this way. It's become a big part of my collecting hobby.
Yes a few details painted like the jewels on the belts and highlight washes and low light washes like Whiplash has on his scales here can really make a figure pop.

Best Whiplash figure out there. The character’s look was always kinda plain, but the new additions sure makes him pop!
I guess you’ve never seen classics because this thing looks super cheap with weak sculpt and less paint apps. I unfortunately missed out on classics whiplash but I’d rather have nothing than have this turd
@@firefly44220 Classics are still cool, but that one is a bit meh. I much prefer this one. Different strokes for different folks I guess 🤷🏻♂️
What I love about the New Eternia figures are the sometimes wildly varying body types. Two Bad and Furry Beast-Man - they give a whole new context to those brutish characters. Gotta admit, I'm only 59 seconds into the video, but here's hoping Whiplash is another big, burly boy to round out Skeletor's monstrous henchmen!
I love the BeastMan in “vintage” garb. I refer to his new fluffy/nearly glitter-looking fur and helmet as his “70’s Elton John” armor, so that stays in the pack. He’s still a big brute without it! Shadow Weaver turned out virtually perfect in Masterverse, and Two-Bad is HUGE and fun! Biggest issue is some do not like standing, and it seems every brand/line has chosen a slightly different sized peg hole so some display stands are loose, others too tight, then there go the dominoes of figures meticulously set-up! Still loving Origins for sticking to “G1” with articulation, but ankles on both lines can be iffy. Still better than Neca’s(?) evil D&D War Duke with the blue helmet: sculpt is gorgeous. Upon carefully opening, cutting all ties, his arm fell off, his gold chain for his scabbard was a joke that broke, and as I slid the mid-size sword out the blade snapped off the handle.
Last: goes for Masterverse and GI Joe Classifieds: the double knee joints can confuse me as to which should be bent for a classic “L” shaped lunginging or squatting stance. Neither tend to look quite right. Maybe ball-joints would look more natural and avoid the gaps in both arms and legs. Curious how others choose to bend them. Thanks again!
With his armor and helmet on He really looks like something Jack Kirby could've designed. Wich fits👍

I still like the squat look of the 2002 Whiplash, esp if you face him off against Ram Man.

The blast of new figures is real. I just shipped my Pile of Loot from BBTS and am overwhelmed. And of course, more just hit in stock as soon as I shipped. 🤦♂️

I love that this figure is taller than most others in the masterverse line. Whiplash is meant to be big and imposing and he should stand over other characters, so, kudos mattel!The articulation is great and, if you were so inclined, you can army build with this figure! Imagine a Caligar army! Kick the crap out of a trooper of Horde troopers imo

I wish they did the new Clawful figure in the same larger scale as whiplash. The clawful is one of my favorite figures in the line- but hes so much smaller than he should be.
Agreed the new eternia masterverse line some of the figures are great. I got my whiplash at target Friday. So they are popping up at target.
Fam, Clawful arrived the other day and is a blasted work of art. Masterverse is killing it y'alls. As far as how I plan to display this figure? I'm probably going to rock both looks at different times.

With the exception of NE He-Man with awful and disappointed heads sculpting.. his principal head doesn't look as He-Man

Agreed about those elbow joints. I really wish Mattel would fix those, they are the worst part of the male Masterverse figures. Otherwise quite a cool looking figure! Great review as always :)

Hm, I wonder if the armor and belt will work on one of the Beast Man figures... That'll be fun to try out. Hooray for Target exclusives! They still haven't shipped my Sun Man from nearly a year ago.
Oof. These retailer exclusive are no Bueno. At least he'll be open to everyone e in the Fall, so if you can wait you can hopefully just order from BBTS or a pla e like that.
I really like the Eternia version, cant seem to find any vehicles for the 7 inch figures though!! Maybe they haven't produced any yet!!

I'm an 80's Generation. I have to go with what I grew up with and that's the original because I had a lot of fond memories of going to the toy store to purchase the latest HE-MAN AND THE MASTERS OF THE UNIVERSE Action Figure. Like one year my Mom bought Castle Grayskull the original for my Birthday. I am currently trying to get back the Action Figures I used to have. You have an awesome channel and the video brought me back to my childhood. Have a great night 🙂

One little issue I had with my New Eternia Two-Bad is his new extra belt. After getting it off to get him more vintage looking, I have Ed been able to get it back on without the rear tabs on the belt strap coming loose any I move him. Just not quite long enough or the tabs aren’t quite raised enough to hold it in place. Anyone else?

Not sure how I feel about the New Eternia look on this one. Kind of looks more like a troll or goblin out of D&D or something. Lately, Mattel has been hitting it out of the park with the New Eternia figures, but this one just seems kind of meh to me on first impressions. My opinion may change if I see it in hand.

@@Pixel-dan Dan, I am a fan of both your and Scott's channels, and I think he's not completely wrong. I live in Europe, where until last year I could find MOTU figures in some toy stores here and there. Now, they completely disappeared. Perhaps in US you still have a chance of finding them at retail, but for a big chunk of the western world, online has been the only way to buy MOTU for a while already
I actually do think the added armor is a good look... but not for Whiplash. I feel he looks like a completely different character with it on. I'm not sure. Maybe I just need to get two.

He definitely looks better without the armour. That new gear doesn't fit with his colour scheme, and looks like he raided Green Goblin's wardrobe.
I think the Green Goblin reference is proof that the purple DOES work with the green. 🤪

Masterverse just sucks. The few I have I’ve certainly not enjoyed paying a premium for extra accessories that go straight in the bin just to get the iconic versions that are still inferior to classics or any version really. They’re ok at best but I’m doing gi joe classified so that’s my bag right now and far more worth investing in as they look way better on a shelf

Pretty disappointed with both looks. A generic lizard solider or a pretty bad rendition of the classic look.
Compared to every other whiplash ever made, this new one looks like junk. The armor is neat, but Masterverse in general, looks like rushed junk.
