I was actually really happy the ankle armor isn't removable...The ankle armor never fit right and always moved around to much on every version of Man at arms I've had...I usually end up gluing the ankle armor on anyway..lol
Yeah, I was also wondering if they were going for a tradeoff of honouring the original removeable armour but still being able to pose the figure without becoming ENRAGED by fiddly loose armour pieces and straight up just casting the calf as an armoured piece was the compromise.
I thought the same thing about the armor as a kid. The fact that it wasn't symmetrical always bothered me. I never thought he had green skin though. But, I can see why you thought that. Great review.
I am glad to hear I wasn't the only child thinking that! 😀 It's fun to look back at the way we perceived things at the time. Thanks for the nice words!
I love the new boxes. Before the front of the box was so boring. Now we got art on the front we got art on both sides and we got the CGI art and background art on the back of the box. I mean forget the figure the Box is worth the $20.
Excellent comprehensive review AJ. Please ask Mattel why they chose to make the leg armor a permanent fixture on the figure because I agree with you mate. It's ludicrous.
I would if I could my friend! However, I am afraid that, even though For Eternia is followed by some Mattel industry professionals, it seems no one wants to go officially on record with these types of matters.
The greave (shin-armor plates are called "greaves") that can't be removed holds no terror for me... I love this figure, I love its potential for kitbashing and Army Building, and I also think that the "Flail Mode" of the mace is AWESOME.
@@foreterniaofficial I know some things about some things... I mainly know that the armor-plates that cover the toe of the boot are called "sabatons" because of the Swedish power-metal band Sabaton >w>
Loved the review, great work! Honestly I'm pleased we get the non-removeable leg armor, previous releases have all had major issues with armor slipping and this was likely one of their solutions. Don't hate it at all but that's just me.
Perhaps there was a way to be the best of both worlds and address those issues of the past and still be removable like everything else on the figure. But, alas, I can appreciate that perspective you're coming from. Thanks for the nice words! 🙂
@@foreterniaofficial I'd agree with you there. I'd already bought a few extra MAA figures to troop build so I have a fair amount of extra armor, if I only had one figure I'd be a lot more irritated at the non-removeable piece.
Indeed, it is an expensive hobby overall. I am just happy these figures are at a reasonable price point, unlike Super7 figures for instance. It could be so much worse!
This really should have been a Palace Guard. Or at least a pack like we got in Origins where you can choose which one you want. Such a missed opportunity.
nooooo! i like the original hip system! drop down hips always have great chance of snapping happened to 3 of my gi joe classifieds...which is why i no longer collect gi joe classified! imma pass on the drop down hips ones cuz i truly despise that system.
I’ll never understand why you have a full section dedicated to the packaging and the smallest section for articulation. Idk about you, I buy the figure to pose, the package goes in the trash.
09:30. It stopped him from getting an arrow to the knee. LOL. 😂🤣
I have no need to strip Man At Arms down so I like the leg armor being sculpted on so it won't wiggle around.

LOL I guess that perfectly encapsulates the saying "When life gives you lemons, make lemonade " Thanks for sharing your awesome perspective! 🙂

Can I ask what black plastic bases you use to put in stand your masterverse figurese? Thanks!
Does the Man at arms 2.0 head fit on the fist man at arms body? IMO the detail on the body of the first was better but the head didnt look right

Want to buy my empty boxes? 😄 j/k
Omg Duncan Deluxe 😭 still waiting for him in Europe 😮💨
Love the new Eternia Man-at-arms
Me too! Even that old fashioned mustache of his! So, so great. 😀
Hell yeah I love the price I actually get them cheaper at the Mattel store in person I get 30% off in store I get my figures for $16.00

Greave and Flail. Got it. I appreciate your expertise in medieval terminology!

He does!
Why isn't Mattel doing a palace guard?!! Wtf?!!!!💭💬🤔🫥🤬🤬🤬😡💥

How did you get it already
In my head-canon this Duncan has a cyborg leg and that’s why the armor doesn’t come off.
Masterful head canon! 😄 👏
Good idea on the army building! And I bet He Man must have signed his left leg armor 😂
Indeed! It's the only thing that makes sense! 😄
My gosh, the new line of figures is really really cool. Not enough money to get all the figures I like though :(

Just take a previous man at arms and exchange bottom legs so the armor can be removable problem solved ..
Mario at Arms
Iron sheik at arms
@@clintsaines9274 Tom Selleck at Arms
😄
@@shinzilla8046 the iron sheik is pretty accurate too

I would have definitely loved a hybrid! 🙂

I am aware of the pitfalls but they do seem pretty solid on these last two waves. So far so good! 🤞
He looks like Dr. Mind bender
Mustache aficionados both! 😀

Sorry! The artwork, the bios, the figure... I love the complete package (No pun intended!) Some collectors don't even remove the figure.🙂
Head sculpt ruins it for me. The rest is on point but classics is still better
