The Cathedral authorities wanted a Cavaille-Coll organ and the great man was approached and gave a quote. The authorities then wanted C-C to provide an extra rank of pipes at his expense. Not interested! So they approached Schyven who, it seems, was happy to oblige. The resulting organ is excellent but it so easily could have been one of C-C's last and greatest!
