@@ricarmig Something doesnt add up with these numbers... If a panel can cover 120% sRGB, 100% DCI-P3, it should do better than 88% Adobe RGB.. while DCI-p3 does not cover all pf AdobeRGB, it still covers the majority. I have a hard time believing it would only be 88%.
Also, what was not covered was the deltaE, but OLEDs usually pass that with flying colors (pun unintended) anyways.
On the other hand, AdobeRGB is intended for prints, DCI-P3 for digital and cinema. So in that regard not a big deal. But I just googled, and they shold be almost the same. So 88% AdobeRGB makes no sense

I do not get why 60hz is such a big deal for many of you. You can still connect it to external display and in everyday usage you would do that because 13" is so small to do any meaningful graphic work unless travelling and in that case i feel 60Hz has to be just enough.

Thanks for probably the 1st video review of P13, came here after finishing the written review. It is really amazing that how much power this small Ultrabook can put against the competitors while still providing decent battery life, good temps and decent noise level in most scenarios. Personally I would prefer these kind of system where the CPU power limit is not restricted due to the sub-par cooling system and super thin design. The higher maximum wattage allows us to use it as we like as I think Asus software or there are tons of 3rd party software which can be used to restrict the power to the CPU. Hopefully X13 2-in-1 will be refreshed with similar hardware and power limit but with a higher refresh rate OLED panel. I guess there not many 13.3" OLED screen available with higher refresh rate to go with and hence Asus has to settle with the 60 Hz version.

Bought the 4060 version and returned it the same day. The pen and the pen digitizer are by far the worst I've used, can't even take notes on it, it keeps "cutting". The 60Hz is unbearable at that price. The touchpad is unacceptable at that price, it's usable, but that's it. It's very mushy and easy to lose control while dragging. The speakers are average. The battery life seemed okay. The power modes were pretty good. Whisper mode would still give good FPS for CS2 with low fan noise. Can't use performance mode with a 100W USB-PD charger connected so you need its brick to be able to use it. Would only recommend if you really *need* that kind of performance in a such a small chassis for some reason, but forget using the pen and bring a mouse. But overall I wouldn't recommend it at all, you'd be better to compromise on the size and weight than the actual usability of the device. I had installed all latest updates (WIndows updates + ASUS stuff). Oh, also, so many "management apps"! At least two from ASUS, + AMD, + NVIDIA, + Dolby, etc. No wonder why most people buy Surface or MacBook, the experience of mixed components isn't pleasant. For any real mobile productivity, nothing beats the MBP unfortunately. But I don't like MacOS. So I'd rather use something like a Slim 7x and remote desktop to my desktop workstation, but I understand that's not for everyone.

@@dirkfunk8053 tbh I used to consume a lot of reviews from big channels but 99% of the time they give overwhelmingly good reviews to literally e-v-e-r-y-t-h-i-n-g. It's easy when it's not your own money and that you're heavily incentivized to keep your sponsorship going. They'll overweight the pros and go very quickly over the cons. Look at this video for example, he barely talks about the pen for less than 10 seconds, same for the touchpad, the software from all these different companies, etc. And these are all aspects of this laptop that are extremely underwhelming for the price. He does spend a bunch of time on synthetic benchmarks that have little to no actual values. I appreciate the summary of the different sources of data but that should be no more than 1 minute of the video, and I can pause if I want. We're always presented with an overwhelming amount of numbers while what really matters is the overall feeling of the machine for the price paid. When you buy an expensive MacBook Pro, you pay for something wholesome that works really well. And everyone agrees. Same goes for an iPad, a Tab S Series, most of flagship Android phones, etc. How comes with it comes to devices like this it's so hard to be honest about it? For the price of this device this is simply unacceptable, and this review fails the viewers on that matter in my opinion. It always come to something like "hey what's going guys, here's a bunch of numbers, now it's up to you to know if it works for you or not, hope you liked this video, don't forget to subscribe" smh.
From this video's description: "the (almost) perfect all-around workstation". That's just not the case. It should read "a last-gen workstation that will serve you well if you can accept the compromises it comes with, and at a hefty price".

As ROG flow X13 owner I'd say that this is its successor that is now finally and officially marketed for creative professionals, comparing it to G14 doesn't make much sense.
Unfortunately it also seems that with P13 they are abandoning XG mobile port and eGPUs but I hope that at usb4.0 will make some eGPUs possible to attach.
Anyway I'm very happy with my Flow x13 and I'm planing to add XG mobile rtx 4090 some time soon to get more power for my design work.

If say it makes most sense to compare it to the G14 imho. They are very similar specs-wise.. I was honestly a little surprised we didnt get a 14" ProArt Model as a direct "Art" version of the G14.
There are always compromises in either tiers. I had planned on trying to get the PX13, but I was not very impressed now by only 88% AdobeRGB coverage.. So I could save quite a lot of money on the G14, get 120 hz and gsync. But I would also want/need the 360 mode and pen input for editing photos.

I'm personally inclined to get the ProArt 13 if it goes on sale or a 4070 version becomes available in the US. G14 has better refresh rate (idc for gaming on the go), has better speakers and better price. ProArt seems more classy, and packs a power for its size. I cant wait for SODIMM laptops be become available with this processor, thankfully AMD finally updated the product page for the HX 370 to include both DDR5 and LPDDR5 support which we may see this coming to AM5 as well(DDR5 uses the same controller for laptop and desktop dimms where as LPDDR5 is architecturally different in how it communicates and how the chips are laid out, often 2-8 high density chips as opposed to each stick having 10-20 chips, or up to 40 for LRDIMM but LRDIMM is also slightly different to the point you need a modified controller to support it)
Dont get me wrong, i understand SODIMM is rather slow compared to LPDDR and desktop DIMMs, but i'd like to be able to upgrade to 192-256GB in the future, or more realistically, when those kits become available, get a 64-128GB kit at a reasonable price. Rather than paying **checks notes** $300 for an additional 16GB at time of purchase with no option to upgrade later if configuring an LPDDR laptop?
    What is this Apple?

  • @andyH_England
    @andyH_England 2 месяца назад +3

This is £2700 in the UK which is around the going rate for the specs but I would probably buy a G14 instead as I do not need the flexibility. The 360 design is likely the main reason that anyone would buy this as there are better “pro” devices around this price.
On another note, these OLED displays are now the de facto choice for around this price but are no longer the premium choice and I was hoping we would start seeing some Tandem OLEDs as they are superior in most ways. I assume the yield remains lower than needed. But Tandem will offer around 20% better efficiency so in line with LCD, have double the half-life, and be considerably brighter in HDR. Maybe next year?
As for the new AMD, seems to be solid and at the moment has little competition as the Snapdragons do not have any SKUs in the pro/semi-pro/gaming laptop sector. Not sure when the higher-performing Intel rivals will release and the M4 will be the main rival in October when I understand most of the Windows OEMs will also release their AMD variants (ASUS seems to have bagged the early chip supply). Battery life is not as I hoped, average I suppose, for everyday use rather than media playback that just uses the AV decoder and does not reflect on GPU/CPU efficiency. They remain well behind Apple.

Got a 4070 model here and I've only done quick testing with a 100w charger + cable - I was able to keep Unigene Superposition benchmark running at seemingly the same FPS with no real discharge from the battery, but I had it on a balanced profile anyway rather than performance/turbo. I believe the performance or turbo modes are greyed out on battery or USB C charging too. The main issue here is that the battery won't really charge because all the power is being used to power the laptop, I think it'd need more like 140w to power the laptop + charge slowly while under full load.
Would love to see someone test this with more knowledge/time though, since my main use-case for the USB C charging is to charge/maintain power levels while rendering Blender on the go, and for that it does it no problem since the CPU isn't really being stressed at all. Same for when I do CPU intensive workloads like After Effects, it'll use USB C no problem since the GPU isn't really stressed (I wish AE used the GPU more haha)
I suspect with the G14 the times where the GPU is throttled would be when the CPU takes a lot of power too and there's not enough for both of them on USB C at a 100w.
All in all - I wish they'd included 140w charging with these new laptops because it really does give more options on the go/when traveling, even if it is less efficient. The Transcend 14 manages it after all..

@@yeshwantkethineni3694 Just checked out your videos (thanks for sharing) - the iGPU is solid, and a pretty good option if you were trying to do some lower spec/higher battery life gaming similar to the handheld machines people are using. I wonder how long the laptop would last at 10-15w playing lighter games, it could be very handy for some gaming during flights with this laptop in tent mode + a gamepad.
Yeah I'd say 100w chargers are great when they have multiple USB C ports since it'll cover you for everything except the most intensive CPU + GPU 100% loads that you'd need the proprietary one for. Then when traveling you could in theory charge everything with one charger at night (assuming the laptop accepts 65w while off).
140w would just be more of a nice compact on-the-go bonus in addition to the proprietary charger, since it'd be pretty much full power + charging, though a lot slower charging vs the 200w adapter.

@@NotebookcheckReviews I don’t agree on this one. Asus cheaped out on this for no reason. It’s not like they couldn’t put a 120hz pantone color accurate oled display in it, and you reviewers should speak out for this more. I saw other reviewers do this and that is good. Because what asus is doing here is make a expensive product, sell it as a laptop for creators and with that reason only price it high and don’t put a 120hz screen in it. They could put a 120hz pantone oled screen in their 16 inch Zenbook S 16, so what you’re saying is that they should have put a 60hz screen in it? And you don’t like the idea that you can use your laptop other then work/creator stuff ? People want to have the option if the device is capable of it. And they should have put a 120hz oled screen in it. Because here in the netherlands this 2400 euro laptop is now a worse choice then the Rog flow z13 in my option because that laptop is now in a discount for 1700 euros with the same gpu and a 165hz screen and also pantone color acurate. But thats my option and i am glad that other reviewers actually mentioned that the refreshrate of this laptop is a little it low for the price and what this device is capable of. And it should be pointed out because otherwise asus can get away with it, just like their RMA problems, i’m glad there are youtube channels that actually pit the customer first and speak for them

I did mention that I would have loved to see a higher refresh rate panel in the PX13 and even pointed out a better alternative from their own portfolio ...
That said I do not like to immediately jump on the "manufacturer bashing hate train".
I do not know enough about sourcing parts to put together a laptop to be like "they should have just put a 120 Hz Panel in there"
Because I would guess, even Asus is not big enough to order oleds exactly how they would want them.
And again, if you really want a 120hz panel there are alternatives, and they are even cheaper ...

Maybe then it was just me "picking up" a more demanding tone! Sorry about that, it's been a long day 🙃
In the end you are right, it is essential information, I would guess the dimensions as well?
I will put something into the next videos alongside the specs!
