- Pokémon Emerald Kaizo is considered by many to be the hardest Pokémon game of all time...so I wanted to see if your favorite content creators had the skills to take down the hardest of all Pokémon challenges. I invited 4 of my friends, Failboat, Jaiden Animations, Weegee the God, and yaki, who all had prior Pokémon experience, so I was confident that they could handle this challenge to race to the game's first gym leader, Roxanne. Little did I know the pain that I was about to put them all through...

There is something odd, yet natural, when hearing Jaiden swearing. You never see her do it in her videos for obvious reasons so if you never see her in any other videos it is surprising but funny.
Jaiden has that tv classic of cutting away before saying the full sware or just censoring it going on at her channel. But not here.

I’ve heard Jaiden swear before on her second channel but hearing Failboat swear was very jarring to me.

After being in such pain over nuzlocking Emerald Kaizo, it must have been nice to watch others suffer.
Its always fun seeing Yaki in videos (and streams) with her friends, she’s an absolute blast to watch
I had never heard of Yaki before but literally everything she said had me HOWLING with laughter.
wanna know what i think could be a fun idea? pull 4 youtubers place them infront of a kaizo pokemon romhack and then have them being coached by 1 person each who have beaten the game, but instead of only going for 1st gym, maybe the 3 first gyms. just a random thought being thrown up in the air, will sanities be broken? yes, but look at it this way: content
maybe it could be a relay race, where one kaizo noob and one kaizo pro team up, and they have 2 different roles, but have no mics to communicate. the pro would start as the 'stratergist' they would decide which pokemon to catch, what items and moves to give to pokemon, which pokemon are on the team and what levels the pokemon are, while the noob would start as the 'battler', which would be the person actually playing the battles. so the battler would have to interpret what the stratergist wants them to actually do in battle without using mics. then once they beat a gym, they switch roles and the noob becomes the stratergist and pro becomes the battler. first to beat first 3 gyms wins!
They experienced a portion of the insanity that drives Jan on what he does.
Yakis energy throughout this makes me wanna watch her through a full playthrough, even if its an easier nuzlocke, itd be so good

Yaki has the level of a literal 80s-90s anime protagonist in this, really talented at one thing (battling) but hopeless at the other stuff, like navigating, and sense of orientation

Its funny that Yaki probably could have gotten the farthest in the actual game. She built a really solid team so its a little unfortunate they were only doing the first gym.

Nuzlocking was intended to be a self imposed "hard mode" for the really easy vanilla games so yea these rom hacks that are already hard modes aren't designed for nuzlocking or a forced set mode, but it makes for good content though lol
Genuinely having just beat wotr sadistic game design legitimately. That's more fun than any kaizo nuzlocke.

I hardcore nuzzlocked this game... it took a lot of research and time, but it was a lot of fun. Honestly, I think the first 3 or 4 gyms are the hardest parts. That and the fking double battle with suicune and raikou at start (iirc). I honestly dont know if I could safely beat that without galalie explode.

I love these guys and their videos but watching their suffering made a masochist and tried Kaizo... I won, somehow I won after who knows how many hours of suffering. And then deleted the game, my respects to those that managed to complete it because the nuzzlocke rules made want to tear my own hair.
Really makes you appreciate that Jan could nuzlocke this game.
