What are the odds you guys could do some sort of real world volume comparison on these bad boys? Manufacturer measurement specs show the new model as being significantly smaller dimensionally, I’d be interested to see how it actually shakes out. My real world measurements of a matte bag comes out larger than spec’d, but I don’t have a shiny model to cram packing peanuts into for comparison.
I trust Patagonia wouldn't go backwards but offer the same quality standards but improved sustainability. Matte or gloss, both are sick. I'll get whichever one is on sale 😊
@bigtimejasonshupe1297 we will address that in a future video. We don't often check bags that are rolling, however our recommendations depend on the contents and destinations. Do you want a roller that does clothes and suits or something to handle gear? We think it also depends on where you are going when you get off the plane. Tell us more about your travel needs and we can try to help!
I bought the new Black Hole 45L backpack in the same Phosphorous Green color to be delivered Wednesday or Thursday. Hoping it will be just what I need for my trip through Alaska over a long weekend and overnight on the Denali Highway.
@bigtimeshannon we think you are going to love it, it has been a recent favorite for sure! Thanks for the comment and come back to tell us about your big time trip
I'm thinking the DWR coating on the bottom of the older bag might have been worn off over the years and needs re-treating. If so, then I think this might be why more water got into the older bag. Good comparison though 👍
I think thats a really valid point, but honestly that blue bag is only about a year old. Both are great bags though and if it has to be water tight put your gear in a trash bag or get a dry bag.
That new fabric is finally what we wanted! Prayers answered.
Got a new matte 55L after watching your video - so happy with this bag!
Thanks for the rec BIG TIME GUYS!
That’s awesome send us an update in a couple months about how it is holding up. We have ours under long term testing right now!
Nice video. Just picked up the matte 40L size on sale for shorter trips. Can't wait to use it.
Thanks Big Time Don we think you will love it. We just used our 75l this weekend!
Great color!
@bigtimejimishums2626 thanks for the comment! We love the new colors!

@joevargo22 I think we can do something like that for you. Give us a little time.
OneBagTravels has done exactly that and (spoiler alert) you are quite right, the new one does hold more than the previous model

We think that is exactly what they did!
What do you Big Time Guys use for rolling luggage if you have to check a bag?
