Why We Moved to Peru: Values & Reasons // Tradeoffs & Benefits

We left our modern life I the states for a much slower, more connected way of living in Peru. We have lived in the Sacred Valley of Peru as expats from the States living in an Andean village. I share about how we came to the decision to make the jump and what the process was like. Tradeoffs and benefits are explored from my perspective.
This video certainly doesn’t speak for all of Peru. We live in the high Sierra in the Sacred Valley which has a some cultural ideas I get into but does not speak for everyone in the area, there are many shades and ideologies based here. There are many inequalities in the area and we by no means want to exploit it or downplay some of the poverty and suffering of Peruvians. My stories are simple examples of how we have perceived some of our experiences but we don’t want to over romanticize or pigeonhole cultural experiences.
