huge respect to greek fans in this performance. I love mid-sized venue concerts packed with energic metalheads/fans.
Yep. This live immediately reminded me atmosphere of Boozed, Broozed & Broken-Boned live (2003) of Black Label Society.
Pisses me off when a BADASS band like FW goes their entire carrier underrated and unappreciated...!!!
My all time fav bands: FATES WARNING & IRON MAIDEN.
If Iron Maiden is underrated, then so is the Beatles.
fuck maiden
@@metalmike1976 why?
@@morbuenogroup3092 massively overrated. i just never could get into them or understand their popularity. Dickinson is an average singer at best IMO
@@metalmike1976 no way dude! Bruce has an awesome voice! Better than most! And what about there song writing, their sweet melodies? They are some of the best!
Most Underated Band Ever!!.....
Along with Threshold
I know. I like them too
Without question, so good to see Frank, the good old days.
14:45, air drumming, a fellow friend and fan, Dimitris Theodoropoulos. Rest in peace, brother. I found you in the video, like I said I would.
RIP to My Brother Jimi !! What an amazing weekend 19-20 Feb 2005. And crazy thing is that the night before that gig, me and Jimi also saw Fates Warning again in Salonica, and we barely got any sleep, since we were hanging out to Salonica's metal pubs until 5am with Jimi guiding me there around Ladadika's metal clubs in one of his 2 hometowns. (the other is Katerini). I think before the Athens gig, I only got some sleep in the bus, and thankfully the bus trip from Salonica to Athens was around 6 hours.
@@Neueregel Thanks for sharing that cool story. \w/

Fates Warning the leaders of the progressive minimalist. They have changed over the years and have evolved their music staying a step ahead of others. Thanks for Video!
SINGS like an angel,!!ZEUS 111🎉4.
I have never seen this band live, and I am pretty blown away. And I did not know Nick D'Virgilio played drums with them at that time! They are incredibly tight live here. Vocals are A+!
Me neither, and Nick was amazing as always!
He is touring wirh Mr. BIG now.
FW fan since 1986. Hats off to this live performance.
Weird that I have been such a Queensryche fan since the late 80s, but never got into Fates Warning. Now, Im in the process of buying their entire discography, one CD at a time. I sure have been missing out. Just the right balance of prog vs straight heavy rock vs melodies. It never feels like they go into masturbatory mode like so many prog musicians tend to do.
It's so nice to hear/read that! Welcome to the Fates Warning realm \m/
Welcome to the few but PROUD International fanbase of the mighty FW :D. They deserve to have much more credit for the Prog Metal seeds of growth, and should be playing bigger venues. They truly are one of the hardest working bands out there with some outstanding music :).
But I don't mind bands that are "self-indulgent" either ;). Prog music is about breaking out of parameters and musicianship, so I love each band that has its own way of doing things. As long as its good and enjoyable music :).
\m/.
ZX9RDan I think we can't even classify their music anymore. It should be Fates Warning genre and that's it! 🙂
ZX9RDan their earlier stuff in the 80s were speed metal based. They didn't slow down to a more prog-speed sound until Ray Adler joined as vocalist on 88's "No Exit", and to a pure prog sound on 91's "Parallels," changing his voice too. I prefer that change.
Wow. 'Bout time, dude. haha Queensryche's body of work pales in comparison to Fates Warning's. Really, nothing after Promised Land is any good, and for me, Operation: Mindcrime is the last great recording. The Warning is a masterpiece, along with Rage For Order and Mindcrime.
I love ... Fates Warning...
I love how they are chanting "We want more." and Kevin Moore walks out to the keyboard lol
He is there before although you don't see him much in de video. He came along in minute 26.
Very cool seeing Nick D'Virgilio on drums.
Indeed!
Saw them couple weeks ago in Boston. 400 or so fans..a shame. They deserve much better. Amazing unique sound. This is where prog metal was born, even Dream know that :)
Nick did a nice job on drums.
It's always nice to see Mr. D'Virgilio behind drum kit.
Yes!
1:16:31 One of the most beautiful moments in music history
best band on earth \m/
You're damn right :)
tawariellFW going to see them oct 10th..ive met Ray before too \m/
+jaymes calabria How was the show??
AMAZING..i got to talk with Ray again! \m/
+jaymes calabria Yeah! That's so great! what did you talked about? :)
Ray is simply incredible!
fist time I was FW, DT was opening for them. Next time, FW was opening for DT. DT lost me in a few albums, but FW has gotten better and better. The song writing is top shelf.
Still remains... what a masterpiece, goosebumps every single time!
THE MOST FURIOUS BASS, THE MOST EMOTIONAL VOICE, THE HARMOINEST GUITARS AND THE CRAZZZIEST DRUM EVER!!! ONE BAND COULD HAVE!!! THE FATES WARNING
This is one of the few bands today that makes me feel like watching a live concert in DVD.
I never saw this band live. Thanks for posting this. Almost made me feel like I was there. The audio was outstanding!!!!!!
MIND = BLOWN.
+MrDeppness Hey bud. Have seen them twice. Where do you live? My wife and I traveled over 4 hrs both times to see them. Just keep an eye on their website. Their coming out with their new cd in 2016, then set to tour. Spend and go wherever you can to see them. Believe me it is worth it!! First show we met Ray Alder! Total dumb luck but you never know! Keep the fates! haha! Good luck!
Patrick Puffer
A new album? Really?? Awesome!!! Thanks!
+Patrick Puffer I'm Greek and I've see FW 6 times Live in Greece
+MrDeppness The new album is expected to be released in June!
tawariellFW hi to montevideo, Montevideo is the capital and largest city of Uruguay. According to the 2011 census, the city proper has a population of 1,319,108 in an area of 194.0 square km
Thank you for sharing this, I really enjoyed it. Silent Cries was the very first Fates Warning song I ever heard back in 1988 when I was 14 and I have loved their music, both as Fates Warning and Ray Alder's Engine ever since. I write this comment in gratitude as I have not had the opportunity to ever see them live and this is a very good performance. Thank you again for uploading this concert. :-)
These guys played a place called bar 666 on the pleasant shade of gray tour. They were mind blowing, tight and full of passion. I took ray alder and Jim matheos on their tour bus and got them really stoned, what a great night, and they still sound just as good today.
"got them really stoned"
Hahahaha holy shit are you serious?? That's a once in a lifetime chance! Lucky you
I was there!!What a night!!Ray and Joey phenomenal performance!Thanks for sharing !
Awesome concert !!! Thanks for sharing! Fates Warning are the best!!!
It's official!! The new album is called THEORIES OF FLIGHT. It will be out on July 1st, 2016 . It can be preordered here: www.recordshopx.com/artist/fates_warning/theories_of_flight/#461826

I was there! A Magical night to remember!
My god i love Fates Warning so much and this old show is so refreshing!! So much good music on the set list, but I got more excited when Kevin Moore took the stage and started playing Still Remains. Thanks for the post!!
dream theater keep dreaming ,FATES ARE THE BIGGEST LIVE PROGG BAND !!!!!!!
Oh the memories. I was there only had listened PSOG as it was a promo of the Hammer magazine issue in 92 or something. From that night i have been listening to their early works on a regular basis. Only i wish i could see Zonder on the drums that night
Absolute pioneers and criminally underrated! They never gave in to commercial success or trends (like Queensryche). Fates and Helstar are my absolute favorites in this genre!
New album "Long Day Good Night" will be out on November 6th! Go go go! Preorder it!
There's the single "Scars" out, also!
One of my favorite bands for years. FW have been totally underrated, I guess. Their music is more than rock or metal. Ray Alder's voice is fantastic, and Jim Matheos on guitar is a sight to see. I wished I could have been there in Athens that night, Great show from a much a greater band!!!!
New album is expected to be released this year! Ray already recorded all the vocals for it!! 🔥🤘🤘🤘
2020 isn't that bad after all 😄
Mixing is done, just waiting on that release date! And possibly a single?? :O
Thanks so much for sharing this!! They are so underrated, I find myself going back to them often. Their newer stuff is great too
I had the nice chance to organize their concert in 2012 in Prague, one of the best experiences of my life
I know this is pro shot and recorded, but my goodness, this is epic! Saw them in 94 and 2013. Thanks, my friend. :)
I saw them in 1985 at Celebrations in Boston. Their promoter took me into the backroom and asked me to be their northeast promoter. I had a heavy metal radio show in Boston at the time. They remain the best of the prog-metal bands that came from that movement. Criminally unknown. Much, much better than Metallica.
This bass player is the best I ve seen since Geddy Lee, what a hell of a show!!!
My love since they begun! Big hug from Lisbon
I was there! Amazing live!!!❤🤘🤘
Perfection!!!! The More Biggest band of the World!!! Thanx from Brazil!!!
Best i ever listen too. Just wonderful!
Absolut Fantastisch. Mit das Beste was Musik bieten kann. Wow!
I am a fan of " opération mindcrime"
I discocer FW a few time ago
I love it they are amazing
Who dislikes this? wtf Brilliant Ray sounds killer
Do you really think so? I haven't given a thumbs down, but I have seen Ray sing better than this. He avoids every high note here.
I have seen him hitting them all, during the Pleaseant tour.
Thanx so much for posting this...and thanx for having big brains to love this band
LOVE this!!!.
My two roots..Metal and being Greek!!!.
Hell Yes!! Damn this takes me back!!! Amazing progressive band deserving of more attention
Thanx for the love!! Rite back atcha, I'm jealous wish I could have been there so mucho thanx for the musical share. I did like & subscribe!!!
Time to rip to dvd. Thanks for posting.
Great show...saw these guys back in the 90's for No Exit tour & Perfect Symmetry
2021 and still rockin’ out to this!!🤘🏼🎸
Ive been gone a long time. Its nice to see you are still here waving the flag. Youve assumed the role of the president of the fan club lol your doing a great job. Nice to see your tag name and pic. Made me smile.
Other than me and you i only know two others that are as dedicated.
what a great show!! Got to see them about 12 yrs. ago. And was able to meet Ray after the show. My biggest influence outside of Rob Halford, bigger influence on my original material and lyrics, phrasing. Ray is just the best. Awesome!!! Show!!!
Sh*t the mix on this is killer, love their sound.
Timeless Prog!!! Awesome 🤘👍
Hell of a concert!!!!!!!!! I am a big fan of them couldn't make it to see them live.
I’ve watched this many times! Awesome band always one of my top 5 favs. The drummer, does a great performance considering he wasn’t the original (Zimmerman) or (Zonder). He’s obviously schooled himself in Fates music!!!!
It's amazing! One of the best rock band that i have seen in my life! Fates Warning is so badass!
Amazing!!!!!!!!! gracias por subirlo...
Sonzera banda muito f....thanks 👊👏👏👏🇧🇷💚💛🤟🙏
what a performance, so much energy. this band kicks ass till this day
Show memorável! tenho assistido ele umas três vezes por semana nos últimos meses hahahaha muito bom!
One of my fav. Thanks for the upload!
👍You're welcome :)
Back to enjoy this. Gracias otra vez. Espero que estés bien.
They are even better now.......best band on the planet. Prove me wrong.
They are even better now in 2022.
How i fuckin love Adler's voice ... SO unique

The new album is expected to be released in june!
Fates Warning Sooo GooD!
💯💓Fates🎸🔊🎶💪😁👍
Ray Alder was amazing here!
What a concert! Gracias!
Por nada :)
With Nick (GOD) DiVirgilio
Fates will never die
Damn, they sound great!!
Great band. Wish they would have thrown in a couple more from No Exit and maybe Guardian....
Greek audience easily the best
Awesome
I had no idea Nick D'Vir-Sweetwater-guy ever played with Fates Warning. You've got to hand it to anyone with the balls it takes to even attempt to fill Zonder's shoes. Kudos for jumping in with both feet on that one.
& I'm so sorry John Arch! You voice never sounded better for Arch/ Matheos. Hope for more.SG
No band like this
.. songwriting is excellent...
Phenomenal
I saw them in the same year in Budapest, Hungary and remember that i was waiting to see Mark Zonder so much and felt dissapointed when didn't see him on the stage (he had just left the band in the same year) but Nick replaced him very well just like here.
This is one of my favourite concert.
Holy shit this is good!
greek blood....love
Great Band In Concert As Well As The Music Written
Wow, powerful..
APSOG is just awesome.. Good selection from that album...Heavy...
Very Nice ❤️🔥🤘
Good times good times
Awesome band! Always a big influence!
Excellent concert :-) ROCK ON!!!!!!!
Love Fates Warning and love Spock's Beard, NDV did a really killer job on short notice after Mark left.
Ray's voice reminds me of a young Paul Stanley. Awesome
Love them because of the new album😀😀😀😀😀😀😀
So glad to hear that 😊😊😊
The new album is absolutely fantastic.
A truly masterpiece ❤
