Oxygen Not Included Cosmic Upgrade Gameplay Overview:
"Space" just got bigger--literally. Miner Duplicants have broken through the crust of the asteroid, revealing the entire big ol' cosmos beyond! This stellar discovery has spurred new material innovations as the Duplicants rush to exploit the frontier while defending themselves from the uncaring vacuum (and unsightly freezer burn) of space.

ONI Cosmic Update Features:
► Space Biome - "Look at me, Liam! I'm on top of the world!" The surface of the asteroid is a source of abundant natural resources along with new hazards for your Duplicants to navigate.
►Solar Light - The abundant energy of a nearby star can be harnessed for electricity with Solar Panels. Your poor cave-dwelling Duplicants will appreciate the warm natural light as well, provided they don't roast!
►Meteor Showers: The good news: free resources! The bad news: they're traveling at 16 kilometers per second. Protect your surface infrastructure with meteor-proof walls and shutters, along with the new Meteor Detector.
►New Elements: Improved material science has enabled the production of Steel, Ceramics, Glass, and other basic materials.
Windows and Walls: Now your Duplicants can build a room with a view. Transparent windows allow light and decor to pass through, while keeping your precious gasses and liquids right where you want them. Back walls offer protection against the greedy vacuum of space for those who dare to build on the surface.
Critter Additions
►Like a swarm of Shine Bugs, the ranching opportunities continue to expand with new buildings and improvements.
►Updated Egg Economy: An Egg Cracker building makes planning your next omelet as easy as pie, which is a good thing because eggs have undergone some mass changes, as well as becoming unviable if left in storage for too long.
►Updated Critter Artwork: Completed eggs, babies, wrangled, and trapped artwork for all critters. Hooray!
►Automated Pen Management: Before, your Duplicants merely kept critters. Now, they're ranching them! Pen limits, as well as automatic wrangling and transfer, lets you build the coal-producing machine of your dreams.

*Today’s Suggestions!*
*1. Stress.* Your stress situation would be fine if there weren’t debris all over your floors. (At this point, the low quality food isn’t affecting dupes all that much.) Also, enclose your bathroom and recreation room (massage tables) for a stress reduction bonus.
*2. Organics storage.* Why are you storing your algae in chlorine? It doesn’t offgas, and you’re making your dupes have to walk a lot farther to supply the deoxidizers. I think you’re confusing algae with slime.
*3. The best use of your nullifier.* You should use it for cooling oxygen that comes out of electrolyzers. This way, you can power the nullifier constantly with hydrogen and you can negate the effects the superheated oxygen will have on your base. Don’t use it to cool the leaky oil; you won’t be able to pump the oil over, since it is far higher than the overheat temp of any liquid pump.
*4. Abyssalite walls.* Your base is still going to heat up if you have regular tiles made of abyssalite. The border wall needs to be INSULATED abyssalite. This is because of the new heat transfer mechanics in the game: the lowest thermal conductivity is no longer taken into consideration; instead, it’s an average of the two thermal conductivities of the materials in question. The only time it ISN’T an average is when the materials are specifically marked as “insulated.” (I told you this already, but just a refresher.)
*5. Exploring faraway biomes.* You’re not doing yourself any favors by instructing your dupes to make ladders out of sandstone. I suggest that in the future when building ladders away from your base, you instruct your dupes to make it out of materials found in the area. For example, make ladders out of granite in cold biomes, igneous rock in caustic biomes, and sedimentary rock in slime biomes.
Are you sure about #4? Does that make plain abby more or less effective than insulated igneous or sandstone now? I have an insulated igneous base wall keeping me right around 26C at cycle 115 with no cooling. I was just about to put plain abby around a geyser, though.
moarsaur I don't think#4 is right. I have tested it in debug and have not had any noticeable heat gain/loss over 100 cycles with 1000degree temperature. Regular abyssalite tiles work just fine.
What I've gathered from reddit and klei forums is that there was some back and forth in April/May where thermal conductivity was changed from the minimum of two or more materials in contact to the average of the materials (which was bad - heat was leaking all over the map). They split the difference by using the logarithmic mean, which minimizes the impact of very high values, producing an outcome closer to the minimum conductivity of the materials involved. So, plain abby (including the veins separating biomes) is less effective than it used to be, but not drastically so. For zero heat exchange in very hot or very cold projects, you may want insulated abby, but for a base wall it's not critical.
Wow, this is the longest comment I’ve ever seen...
Not I. A bad way, just a wow kind of way
it is certainly nice to see that I am not the only one that has issues with a colony there.
Some tips:
It can help a lot if you just take some graph/squared paper to plan out this stuff. Few things beat just drawing it out.
Matching the shipping thing to a room is not ideal.
9x9 would be 81 tiles. The max roomsize is 96 tiles. You might be able to make a room 10 height, 9 wide for a space of 90 (to maximize critter capacity). You do not need to collect/delvier to anything but the two lowest tiles.
Asuming they can collect/deliver through walls, it might even be possible to get fancier: 18 wide, 5 high.
I had a theory on cooling the coal generators:
They produce Carbon dioxide. If you wait it to heat up the gas, then release the gas into the vacuum of space (destroying it), you could make a effecive cooling without need a cold zone. Of course you have the better options there.
You can also look where exactly Dupicants can go. Just select one a hit the button "Show Navigation".
Christopher G he has been doing 9x11 rooms for the critters and putting a couple extra tiles at the top to bring it into ranch room requirements
I'm currently binging this series and died when blitz found neutronium and his response was "blulululululululu!" 19:20
More like blalalalala
You can use shiny bugs to power solar panels. It’s one of the easiest ways and you only need to deal whit heat
love the vids
I'm so glad you are back and I'm looking forward to seeing this series. I'm almost tempted to get the game
Sweep all the debris on tiles, blitz!
Yo buddy , love your vidz, been watching for 2 seasons now, you are such a positive dude!!!
1 hint, your bedroom is 1 bed to big, so not a bedroom, which means less stress reductions than if it was a bedroom. GL!
Adorable little monsters eating your building materials, aww
13:39
That sounds EXACTLY like GrayStillPlays
I JUST HAD A MOMENT
Sameee!!!
I honestly have no idea what he's doing and why, but I like watching these vidoes
Hey, from what I saw from a fellow youtuber, if you dig down your more likely to find nothing but magma, but digging up gets you closer to space. You'll need to be careful if you plan to go outside your base and plan how your gonna access that area since dups can gain happiness if expose to natural sunlight
2:59 DID ANYBODY SEE THE WAY THE HATCHES LAY EGGS????
MyLifeBruah that's so weird
That's what it looks like when I take a fat dump
ye the hatch just pukes out the egg
Hey if you dig up to the top of the base (this is new in the cosmic update) of course there’s the stars and all of that but you can make power using solar panels (you would also have to research renewable energy) and then you can also start researching the stars and all of that
Benjamin Tanner you can also power them useing shine bugs. A much safer plan imo. And be careful with the vacuum of space. I can see you (blitz) sending someone like gunjamed and spacing your whole colony haha
I want this game now.
Keep up the good work!!
25:40 me when i have a thing in my throat.
Blitz i just figured out that you have a second channel and i find this game really cool!
Blitz put a food storage box down in your ranch area and put hatch eggs only then unclick so they will hatch naturally.
Dragon is eating the brain station at 19:23
Hey Blitz ! I just wanted you to see the effects and the major bug of the recent cosmic upgrade the one that your playing on. And let me tell you this could happen to you too ( just giving you heads up its not pretty what your about to experience ) look up on youtube *exactly like this* "The Shower of Doom" without the ""
You can make your ranches 8x12, so you're rooms are symmetric while still being able to use the autosweepers.
the bug with the critter feeders is that Dreckos and Pufs can't be feed by them, so in the list those options are empty, that's why they apear selected
Hay blitz, brothgar has a new series "full automation challenge " and a few things he has done refering to water and power control might be helpful for you. It was kinda complicated but i have faith in you. He also set up a dreco station. And the self sustaining oxidizer / hydrogen system for exo suits was nice
Great video BTW Cook the food it helps them clam down
If you want to clam down you have to go to Maryland, not space.
why do critters like suffocating in walls so much?
-_-
Brian Bordessa why people like saying first on RUclips comments?
siddhath mawalage why do I exist? -_- ;)
you can wrangle them out if they get stuck inside the wall
Why is Gamora?
Brainless blitz DIG OUT HATCHES WHEN IN THE FLOOR THEY CANT DIE WALL IN THE FLOOR THEY DIG OUT THEM SELF SO BRAINLESS BLITZ DIG THE OUT WALL SLEEPING IN THE FLOOR!!! *breaths Heavily* sorry brainless blitz that is just a tip..... lul.
The hatches can now jump out of a block if you see a mound of dirt on top of the block
Create a small room for containing tantrums. A pneumatic door. And some paintings.
how would you get the tantrum dup to go into that room though?
You can force any duplicant to move anywhere at any time. he used it several times in the video. it works on unhappy duplicants too.
if you build a wall into the critter, you can always wrangle them out
Loved it
9:24 there was neutronium next to the presurised poluted water
More please!!!!
Yo blitz thx for the vids can u make lots of vids each day, u don’t have to do hardcore editing, we enjoy all gameplay!😀
Imagine you were in this world with blitz in control
Imagine being in a world I was in control of I enjoy killing off people because I can
@@WinterLgndWolf I'd commit die instantly in my town camp fire
I would commit die from spawning
YOU CAN WRANGLE HATCHES THRU THE WALLS
how long do you think it'll take him to realize they like burrowing?
Yo was up blitz?
Why aren’t you using algae?? sure it takes some water but it will give them O2 in the hallway to the ice biome
Btw there is a vent or a Geiser In the new cold biome
I think your sheep is in the wall blitz
dude you need to use the room mechanics. like barracks, kitchen, great hall, dining hall, they all add to moral, you need to use them lol
Hey blitz the audio and video seem out of sync for me not sure if it’s happening to anyone else, just wanted to let you knoq
Pretty sure this is episode 3, right Blitz? Your description says ep. 2!
Martin Dinner no it says ep3
Can you call one of the duplicates Bubbles please? Such a fun name :D
Good video as always. Thanks to you i found a new game i really enjoy :^)
By the way check your description "Ranching Mark II Upgrade" is the previous one isnt it? :^)
subscribe to patreon to get a dup named.
Bubbles is one of the standard dupe names.
10:17
so much storage not being used
I'd really love to try this game but I'm terrible at base building games, and from what I see from your vids so far, this game is too complicated for me :(.
Can u do 2 ep. daily?
hello
u have to analyze the geysers.to increase their activation period
Why is this in my recommended? I watched this like a year ago...
Hi
Why not make fresh water tanks chlorine storage tanks pump air in
Don't eat the egg. Please
Why don’t you like drekos?
M.
Make more videos🔰✋
ha ha ha he notised that the critter area needs to be 9 wide and when will he reilise there is nutroniom on the left ice area
what is the world seed i cant see it in the 1st vid
It’s in the second vid
hallo (first)
V has anger issues
BTW they get stressed depending on there job and moral, they need higher morals to do better jobs

Slime rancher pls
Drip polluted water over Alge Terrariums. It will clean water without heat.
Adam Hysong algae terrariums take regular water not PW. They produce PW
the hatch cant get stuck in the floor it is making a home in the floor YOU CAN JUST DIG THEM OUT LIKE THAT!!!! ANY OTHER CRITER CAN GET STUCK IN THE FLOOR AND DIG THEM OUT!!!!!!
