Oxygen Not Included Ranching Upgrade Gameplay Overview:
It's been a hard six weeks of survival for our poor stranded Duplicants, but something adorable is on the horizon that's sure to make them smile - Critter Ranching! With new tools at their disposal our Duplicants can interact with critters in a variety of cute and helpful ways. Will Hatches become Dupe's best friend? Is there enough grooming in the world to make a Puft smell good? What DO Shine Bugs eat?

ONI Ranching Mark 2 Update Features:
►Critter Morphs
Each critter has latent genes that can be activated through specific conditions in diet, environment, and handsomeness. By giving special care to your critters, they will lay new varieties of eggs that hatch into morphs with new requirements and byproducts. Gotta ranch 'em all!
Key Features
►Critter Morphs: Each critter has one or more variations that can be hatched from special eggs, if conditions are right, enabling new means of production and bonus adorableness.
►New Critters: Some new wild specimens have been spotted around the asteroid!
►Drecko: The lizard-like Drecko can be found in secluded corners and high ceilings of the Jungle Biome, nibbling on the local plants and basking in the warmth of the Hydrogen. Its woolly fur grows at an impressive rate and can be sheared off to gain new resources.
►Pacu: The waters of the asteroid have become newly inhabited as well! Delicious Pacu will swim around, looking lovely and reproducing at a vigorous rate. Maybe you'll keep them around for their meat, or breed one of their morphs for their useful side effects.
Baby Critters: Newly hatched critters need time to grow up and learn the ways of the world before they mature. Some Cycle soon, they'll grow up and really start pooping out coal for you!
►Additional Critter Care Buildings: To assist with the new critters, the Duplicants have developed some new ranching facilities.
►Shearing Station: This station allows you to you relieve your Drecko of all that itchy fur! Works on scales, too.
►Fish Trap, Fish Release: Get your little fishies out of the water and into your belly into a cozy new pond.
►Fish Feeder: Pacu need to eat too! Use this feeder to automatically feed your fish each and every day. So long as you keep it stocked, anyway.

*Today's Suggestions!*
*1. Plumbing.* The job you're looking for is a promotion to the job "Groundskeeper." Plumbers can deconstruct pipes without having their contents spill out everywhere! Quite useful.
*2. Ranching.* Your critters in the bottom ranch aren't getting fully groomed at times (which makes them "Glum") because your rancher runs out of air before they can finish grooming! I suggest placing an algae terrarium down there with a deodorizer for the polluted water the terrarium will produce.
I don't recommend only allowing your rancher access to the stable. David is not responsible for filling the critter feeders or picking up eggs to be cooked.
Also, I don't recommend having regular hatches, since they're inefficient at converting what they eat into coal. Sage and stone hatches are much better at producing coal. Once you have all of the critter morphs, I wouldn't keep more than two regular hatches.
*3. Cooking eggs.* In order to select the correct eggs, move your chef next to the egg you want them to pick up, then when they're almost there, queue up an omelette on the grill. The chef will pick up the closest egg to them.
*4. Blindness.* You forgot to attach automation wire to your coal generator, and your dupes can't reach the bottom ranch because you need to dig out the path again (there's some sandstone in the way).

hey blitz, you forgot to hook your smart battery to your coal generator with the automation wire; it is still running full bore.
Another thing is about incubators baby’s come out tamed so move the incubators in the pin and when you wrangle a animal it wildnessis reset at 100%
I have only just started to see Blitz on RUclips. Based on the date of the video, I expect that he has uploaded no more than 10 videos since then. But no, he has uploaded a crazy 29 videos for me to watch, over the course of 29 days. That's amazing, and so far the quality doesn't seem to decrease with every new video in the same game.

The ways the doors work (I think) is that everyone has default access, unless specified otherwise (under permissions).
at 19:29 you can see the dupe shooting things like a maniac haha
you could use planter boxes with airflow tiles underneath so when you put in lighting for the bristle blossoms you only need to put it in on the top floor. It will shine through the airflow tiles to the bottom where you can use hydroponic tiles. meal wood on top in the planters and bristle blossom underneath.
1:50 - Even it will not kill the germs, it will cool of the gold, and since your using it as the primary metal component, it should prevent heatstroke and spreading the heat, like you did on your farm with the cables.
what i normally do is close off the default duplicant access for everyone, then pick who can go in, but theres 1 tile you need to mine to let them in that critter room. plumber is in the jobs, after tidy at the bottom
Blitz try putting a hole and some water under the gold generator and it should cool the gold off instantly and prevent scalding, just an idea tho
Now that you're gonna grow crops, you should soon design a cooling water loop based on the new pipe thermo sensors. Not needed just yet, but it will be good once you run out of cool water. The way it should work is that the warm water comes in, goes through a looped section of pipe with an aquatuner, pipe thermo sensor and an automated valve. If the sensor detects that the water is cool enough, then the valve opens and a dedicated line of cool water feeds your crops. If it's not cool enough, it goes back through the loop and gets cooled again.
The setup could be finicky, so it may take some trial and error to get it working right.
I noticed yesterday when playing that you can put the eggs into the fridge and still be able to incubate them later.
That awkward moment at 28:57 when sucking on a jar of someone's waste for polluted oxygen saves your life xD
Hey blitz, when you are looking to start the puft farm, one is in the slime area above the ice area you are using for your water tanks. I saw it briefly, the time in this video was 7:37
The 2nd grooming station is directly below the first one, rather than 1 tile to the right.
Please use insulated tiles at the edges of your base. It'll help with heat problem
Have you considered replacing some of your regular tiles with air flow tiles? That would allow your gases to move more freely, and reduce your oxygen generation concerns.

Best way to cool the greenhouses would be to build a radiator shape in the cold biom, pump it full of hydrogen and put radiator shapes in the greenhouse and cycle it. Just wait till your gold cools because the pipes must be conductive.
The plumbing is in the tidy job branch
you probably have a feeder for each separate type of critter, they might be glum cause not all the right food fits in the same feeder
FYI, if you put a ration box in a slightly warmer biome and store your eggs in it then the eggs will incubate/hatch naturally rather than needing more power to power the incubator. Plus you don't have to worry about cooling down the area around an incubator
Clive Lawrence the eggs will incubate regardless of where they are. On the floor or ration box. Temperature doesn't effect it either

Put thermal shift plates in the polluted water tank. I will heat the water faster and cool the gold faster.
Maybe put a storage compactor with bleach stone in the stink water tank and slap an airlock on it. chlorine might help kill the germs

@Blitz After Dark, King Midas, and yes everything he touched turned to gold... including his daughter... kind of a tragic story if you ever have time to look it up.
+The Real It is not as tragic when you hear the end when King Midas learns to reverse it by putting her in one sec (looking up the name) the river Pactolus. In the original story he doesn't turn his daughter to gold and he just dies of starvation.

Plumber is under Tidy. It's the only upgrade to the tidy job. Also, your smart battery says it's unplugged. I don't know how to use the fancy stuff yet and I was waiting for you to show me how! lol Things like smart batteries and automation has me confused. I should probably look it up.. xD
SarahJane I saw someone today use an atmosensor on the algae deoxidizers with automation wire and my jaw hit the floor. im not 100% sure what it does but i assume it stops them at a certain pressure and resumes if it goes below certain pressure depending on the settings you give it.
I know for automation wire with the smart batteries hooked up to the coal generator, it stops the coal generator from producing if they are within the % limits you give them and it helps preserve coal and waste less.
Sarah Atchison I have a feeling automation can go pretty deep. I did try to hook up a smart battery with the coal generator (automation wire) but it still gave me a little unplugged symbol. I need to play with it more.

I personally don't like the 3 high rooms with the hydroponics as the floor, plumbing those are going to be a pain. I'd still go with 4 high in those rooms.

You made the rooms with hydroponics tiles 23 long. Shouldn't those be 32 tiles long by 3 tiles tall for max capacity? Or am i missing something?

I noticed, but the greenhouse can have a max of 96 tiles. Shouldn't he make a 32x3 room? Or is it better to have a smaller room to make it easier to control the environment?
In terms of more length, it wouldn't matter because overcrowding happens with the same number of critters per 96 tiles.

My critter drop off broke, I think. I can not transport regular hatches.
Midas wished that everything he touched turned into gold. I think he died out of starvation because all of his food would turn to gold. He even turned his daughter into gold. (I think that his wife was also turned to gold, but not 100% sure.)
Blitz if you only let the rancher in no one is going to refill the food storage and the coal that the hatch make is going to be use less because nobody can get them because your rancher is only prioritize the farm and ranch only

Quality is max 360 on ps4. But on my phone it looks fine.
Most phones don't have the ability for higher than 360. Also youtube takes awhile to fully process a video for HD even after posting. Meaning if you watched when it was first posted, the quality might only 360.
