I don’t have all the answers. The goal here is to produce content that someone can use in some way.
Everything is a work in progress. If you check out the playlist tab you might find something that interests you…podcast, training, gear reviews…

Beautiful
All good points. Another aspect of slow and deliberate clearing is minimizing exposure of things like elbows, ears, feet, etc. that tend to give the opponent advance notice of you coming around that corner. Lead with eyes and weapon. Conversely, you, too are looking for those same small indicators. Detecting them first gives you options as to next steps. Getting good at shoulder transitions and working from the other strong side takes work and most people won’t do the work to gain the benefits.
I agree. Well said and correct.
The real benefit is learning to do it right. Peeling a corner tight & hugging walls is rarely optimal or recommended if facing opponents armed with assault rifles.
The fact that people are even questioning how to use cover shows a distinct LACK of force on force training. Even airsofters and paintballers learn to do this very quickly.
I think a I’m redneck live is in order for this channel
One thing this asshole forgot to do is say "Clear" after completing the sweep after each room. This would have given the tactical cool feel.
What exactly does this comment mean? Because the way it’s written makes it sound like you are pointing out the fact that most people in general don’t understand the concept and proper use of cover, and are therefore seeking instruction. If that is what you are saying then, what exactly is your point? If someone anticipates being in a situation where they may potentially have to utilize cover And they know they are inexperienced and uneducated on the subject, they SHOULD be asking questions and having someone qualified explain and demonstrate it to them.

As a patrol rifle instructor/ firearms instructor we incorporated this into our monthly training which was monthly scenario based training. Yes we scored targets. But more importantly we graded the Officer's on the entire scenario. The approach, communications, movements, use of cover/concealment, team work and decision making were all graded. After the scenario we would debrief and challenge the Officer's to defend things like shoot don't shoot decisions. Police work is a thinking mans game. You must become a conscious competent. You not only have to do the right thing, you have to know why it's the right thing. Nice video.
Amazing statement!
We all liked that, good and informative content, just subscribed 🎉
@whiskeyandammo there definitely is a martial art to gun fighting, I go on remedieval battles and fight and do martial arts where the fight is much more personal than being yards away and still killing the enemy, but yea it’s much of the same idea of say sword and shield, you use the wall or what have you as your shield, and your gun your blade..
One thing I’ve always found nonsensical is some trainers ignoring the fact that most interior walls are easily defeated by gunfire.
Shhhhh!🤫
Aware oh shii
In the majority of gun fights concealment acts as cover as far as getting the bad guy to stop shooting at you. Most under pressure will only shoot at targets they see. This is something you can see demonstrated regularly on channels like Active Self Protection.
@@ImperiumLibertascivilian but my instructor said the same thing.
I've heard many say drywall is only concealment not cover. Therefore quiet smooth force of action. CQB is always a suicide mission for 1st man or single man.
The very second you completely switched shooting hands in the second I subscribed. Finally somebody that gets it.
Whatever works for peeps I guess
Quick tip. As a tactical trainer, there is no weak side, it is your other strong side. Condition your mind correctly! Hooyah!!
As a right handed shooter until my mid 20s who finally quit fighting nature and switched to shooting left shoulder to better accommodate my left eye dominance, I'm fond of reminding people that I don't have a weak side. Either side is 100% rock n' roll.
Exactly..... I ain't Delta, Spirit, or South West.... And that's why my CQB clearing tactics involve a gas can and a match.
lol 😂 actually funny
I'm just loving that he can do this in the middle of a suburbs back yard without being harassed lol/

I mean, I have an expectation of privacy
I wanna take a course in this type of stuff, not because I expect or want to find myself in a scary situation like this(biochemist with no law enforcement or military experience) , but because it’s a very interesting skill to me & I respect those who deliberately put themselves in those positions for others safety… but also sorta because It’d be better to know this and not need it than to need it and not ever have experienced even a simulation of it 😅
Especially with the times we live in! Can't go wrong with this training
Cqb, i am grabbing a 10.5 not 16" rifle. Opening scene where you're pieing the corner to room, you stand directly in front of a door. If i hear movement and i'm the bad guy i am shooting... sometimes you have to be a delta operator and learn to take the corner and advance then square off engage rest of room. Also don't be afraid to take a position that they don't expect aka on a knee.
Knowledge
I just got the mantis blackbeard and have been larping around my house clearing rooms with targets scattered around, swimming out of my sling to switch shoulders and peak around corners. I just got this first AR a couple of months ago and put a cool PA acss cyclops gen 2 optic with a 3x magnifier on it, and this training system is fun. It's like a big, expensive toy now lol.
Yeah is cool, definitely gives you something …in substitute for nothing.

If you're questioning this method, you've never played competitive paintball. That's the fastest Less Lethal way to learn how important exposure and muzzle positioning is.

Good point!
I’m a cross dominant shooter. Unfortunately, I’m cross dominant because my strong side eye is extremely weak, so I’d never be able to clear a room in this way. Then again, I probably shouldn’t be trying to clear rooms.
In any case, this is interesting and I often wondered why shoulder switching wasn’t something talked about or seen in movies or even most games.
It gets a lot of hate for a number or reasons that don’t make tactical sense

@Surviving the Street , an SBR, or braced pistol (especially in .300 blk with 110grain vmax bullets) is simply a better platform than a 16" or even a 14.5" barrel in an urban/suburban environment, especially indoors.
Here in Ozarkistan, we tested 5.56 v .300 blk on whitetail does that were all about 140-150lbs on the hoof.
That 110 grain .300 bullet seems to almost explode inside a chest cavity, deer were dead within 2 seconds, even with less than perfect shots at ranges of 60-120yds.
BEST PART about .300blk: Almost no overpenetration. Just a tiny bullet core. The entry wounds were much larger than the exit wounds. It's an absolutely devestating round compared to 5.56, even 77 grain sierras, without the overpenetration. The .300blk 110 grain, just dumps all its energey after about 1-2" of penetration. It's very accurate out to 300+meters with only a 10" barrel. Want barrier penetration? Load some mags with 150 grain fmj. You can load any .308 bullet into .300blk. It also costs about the same as 5.56 today.
This is a 12.7 I assume better because length?
This video has that being 10 years old running through the house doing cqb with a toy gun kinda energy

Knowing your weapon, physical fitness (extremely important) and learning the basics of cover and concealment are important. Now if you want to actually practice cover and concealment go and try out airsoft or paintball you’ll learn real quick because once you get hit it’ll hurt.
True
Havent trained in it, had to do it to qual once.Didnt know why I was doing that and figured it out by myself. I like it in theory, havent done it much. I have to go one eye to shoot or I am looking down the side of the rifle barrel.
Idk about that, clearing with a long gun in confined spaces, it definately makes a difference. I just never trained on it.
Great video! I'm going to win every nerf battle against my brother now
Get some!
I too sometimes do tactical sweep of my toilet.

Great title
I thought so…I do wonder how many people got upset with it
our tactical training showed the importance of turning your leading foot inward to prevent it sticking out past the barricade before our muzzle cleared as well as tucking our shooting hand elbow in and aligning it over the leading leg, and then leaning forward past the barricade and not sideways, which always has your muzzle pointing at the enemy first before he sees your body parts coming around the corner
When checking that second room entrance aren’t you exposing yourself to someone who could be hiding behind that hallway corner? How do you deal with that solo? Maybe quickly pass the doorway to clear the hall then come back to the room? Thoughts?
*correction, it was the first room threshold/entrance.
Well, if the doors are closed which in that case they were …it’s your choice on whether or not you want to or feel like you can continue that process, but it does need to happen quickly as to not allow your back exposed for a period of time limiting your ability to react to a door opening. That being said, that hard corner near the closed doors still needs attention….sometimes you have to have your head on a swivel and do multiple jobs without over committing.
Or
You could work the door and long angle up to a certain point then just take the room…which is what I suggest if there are open doors in front of you. Because there becomes a point where it’s no longer manageable to pay attention to all things…and you will have to make a decision and choose one of the lesser evils.
I know a guy who was working that door while exposed to closed doors ahead, slow methodical, as he broke that angle at the threshold slightly the bad guy started shooting from the room and grazed his face.
A closed door (if you feel like you still have a surprise element) can afford you time to address a threat when you hear or see movement from the door.
There’s no real wrong answer and it’s the individuals decisions to choose.
Sometimes I stand there and look at a problem and ultimately end up with “this sucks but that’s what we have”
Example…two open open opposing doors at the end of a hall way…but can only fit linear in the hallway…
@@Forward_Concepts I had to make a correction to my comment. It was that first doorway in the beginning few seconds of the video (the door was open, so I want to make sure we are talking about the same thing.) As you pie’d slowly around that threshold I was wondering (especially once you got to the far side of the entrance) how dangerous it would be if a bad guy was just around that next hall way corner which was a very short distance from the far edge of the doorframe. Anyway, I agree sometimes it just sucks and you have to make do. But do you think quickly passing the room to clear the hallway then coming back to the room would be a viable option? (Sorry if you answered this and I didn’t fully understand. I think you basically agreed you could do either.)
It would be interesting to have a screen on your rifle with FLIR cameras or a borescope that could pop out and see over the side without leaning
Swat teams have cameras that do this
Is there a tactical advantage of clearing your house/property with the stock all the way in vs pulled out like most tall men have it?
User preference, no advantage
It is not user preference…extend your buttstock
Lol definitely not delta but I shot cmp matches for a while... especially prone, marksman at best😂
2:03 Glad that's not just me.
What about eye dominance, scope type, and height over bore? Aiming or point shooting?
Train
Yeah I understand that. Just wondering if all that time and money spent to train this is worth it. We are talking what inches of more exposure here. Also, seems like your head placement is relatively the same either way. Meaning it stays centerline and it is more left or right depending upon which side the firearm is on but it is not much. Then, If we add into the mix mag changes, then we have to train to flip the mag or change back to other side for reloads because our mags will be oriented for the dominant side. Either way, adds additional time for inches of exposure. Again, not saying I disagree, just some things I think about and contemplate.
But with a bullpup weapon with no deflector how can you switch from strong to weak side without taking case in the face ?
you can't, unless you extend it over and use it like a handgun, which sucks. This is a well known issue with bullpups
What do you mean I’m not ! !
My parents name me Delta and our last is Force.
Carry on then!
Easier to change grip on a Mossberg shockwave..just hold on tight!!
lol
Can we address manipulating the safety while holding the rifle on the left side. The easy solution is an ambidextrous safety lever, but not all agencies allow modification to the patrol rifles. I suppose you can still manipulate the safety with the left thumb, but that sacrifices solid grip.
Nvm, I just re-watch the video and looked at how you held the grip in your left hand.
The answer is what you explained. Just more focus on pulling rifle into your shoulder if you can’t grip it correctly
Question.. It would be more ideal to utilize this tactic during deliberate movement vs dynamic movement right?
Yes exactly. On the exposure side of things
@@Forward_Concepts Much Appreciated sir, thank you. I love the videos by the way.

What does “You’re not Delta Force” have to do with it?
It got you here didn’t it
As a paintball player swapping is all subconscious muscle memory and you would be dumb not to do this. Why grab the mag just bring your support hand back to the grip and your dominant hand now forward as you move the rifle across your body. Sounds more difficult than it is, also keep your outer foot inline with the cover you’re using to not expose your foot and legs also because you need to lean your upper body with your elbow tucked.
how to set up your sling?
Cool, it’s on the list

What gave you away first wasn’t anything related to the shoulders or gun, but you’re leading with your leg…stepping to far and flagging yourself

Amen. When using covert searching tactics that’s a question I used to pose to my guys …how long do you want to try this? The answer was asking as it takes or until we realize it won’t work
SESH
I never clear a house with a long gun. A handgun or maybe an MP-5, but never a rifle. Too damn long.
You can use really any length rifle you just have to know how to ambulate it. That is more difficult to do on a 16 inch
A rifle is just as long if not shorter (depending on length) than a pistol you are using properly.

my friend my best friend who's a admiral marsoc pj delta force green beret general said it's best to roll with your pistol out across the grass like mel gibson in lethal weapon

This is great advice and no doubt helps, but the fact is anyone doing this work is just going to be vulnerable. Especially when bad guys realize that sheetrock doesn't tend to stop bullets...
We get it …the goal is being the least vulnerable
While it's most likely forbidden for Law Enforcements, for the rest blind fire exists. Keeps ur exposure at minimum trust me. Mb you won't look that badass, but hey, you won't look badass in the coffin either.
Amen
Yes...there is a tactical advantage switching shoulders.......however, LE guys dont get enough time or training to practice this technique. If you are going to employ switching shoulders, you need to practice it, and often. They need to concentrate on the fundamentals and get their basic shooting skills to a sub conscience level first. My 2 cents.
Sometimes you might want to favor cover/concealment over your ability to make a left handed layup …might next video is this
So
I can’t take anyone reaching that far forward on a gun seriously.

You must be Delta Force
@@jamesgichuru167 first time I’ve heard that one …I’m a fan
Also the reason the officer was killed is cause he pretty much sat in the doorway
By this theory the group of cops get shot less by running through the doorway.
CQB always works when the bad guy isn’t staring at the door with a gun. When he is…people get shot a lot.
Yeah but knocking on the door standing right in front of the door is pretty dumb I get the stairway was blocking them from doing a solid stack. But you’re already on a stair with no cover they shouldn’t of stacked on the stair cause when shots went off nobody could actually run to cover cause they were tripping on each other. Also standing a 90-190 degrees from the doorway is a lot better then standing dead middle
