    I think you bring up an important point. Many people watch ex-SF guys with youtube channels show large team CQB, tossing 9 bangers and clearing stuff under NODs. Those tactics require extensive support, equipment and are not a realistic expectation for the vast majority of police officers.
    Deliberate clearance is a better option for single or small groups of officers for patrol functions. Using stand off and clearing as much as you can from outside the room is better than rushing to your death.

    I like working the door from the hinge side when you have a corner fed room like this one it gives you a chance to pull back and do a threshold assessment and most importantly room to maneuver should you start getting rounds. Working the door from the knob side not a fan of it on a corner fed room because you are against the wall and if you start receiving rounds you are stuck in the corner and would have to move pass the threshold in order to get out of the way.

    If you want to get really fancy, the guy not working the door does not have to be stacked at the door. He can take a position with cover / concealment inside the room or even the next room. A good example would be at 7:14 in the smaller camera. Post one guy up behind the corner the camera is looking at. Nice deep angel with concealment and standoff. Once the door is open he can start pieing from there.

    Thoughts on during a “cover contact” type set up while working the door. So that way if a threat is right at the door your not potentially left in the open but have your buddy and can use body armor on body armor and have a gun already up and ready.

      I’ve addressed this somewhere in a comments…it’s something to be aware of but pay more attention to lighting conditions and think about manipulating those conditions in your favor. If it’s dark inside and light where you are standing, you are at a disadvantage.

    any advise on evictions where you have to announce yourself (giving up any element of surprise)? Great content man!

    • @Forward_Concepts
      @Forward_Concepts  5 месяцев назад +1

      Most warrants eviction or not are knock and announce. Actually a lot of cities have gotten rid of no knock warrants all together. Either way at some point you have lost the perceived “element of surprise..” safest way is to implement a shield. And the best thing you could have is the ability to develop a plan to handle every problem.

    • @carlbjork8193
      @carlbjork8193 5 месяцев назад

      @@Forward_Concepts yeah we knock announce and try to have them go to the door. Some times we use a shield but most of the times we don’t. It gets very chaotic. A lot of people moving around so trying to clear everything properly right away does not happen. We go get the people first. This I know is not good. I would like to improve our process and make it safer. If people don’t come to the door we open it with keys or kick it in. Most people don’t know that they are getting evicted that day so announcing Sheriffs Office is a must while going in and clearing so they don’t think it’s a home invasion. Most people we deal with are fine and we don’t want to treat them like criminals of course some are actually criminals and i know we could do better with our process of evictions to be safer so I’m looking for trainings that would help us in that area. Any advice on trainings or know of a training company that specializes in evictions?

    I repectfully disagree with certain aspects. The reality of law enforcement on the street is that you have a backup element or full-time tactical unit hopefully at the right place at the right time. Once you get into a barricade situation and there is not a hostage consideration, or a risk that the suspect will detonate munitions or God forbid, something with a CBRN aspect, there is not really the same need to go fast. In a home defense scenario with a bad guy making their way to your loved one, you will move fast in a hunter-aggressor disposition. You may not be DeLtA fOrCe, but you will not move as slowly toward your loved one as if you have a yardful of SWAT guys and a negotiator. You will move fast and absolutely f*ck to the best of your training and ability and you will obliterate the threat before they harm your family. So yes, you will move with speed and intention even if it means assuming additional risk that shooting buddies would otherwise mitigate. But if your biggest threat is that the perp may flush their meth, then by all means go slow. Don’t let ego get in your way. But please don’t suggest that tactical law enforcement is a one-man show.

      One you have to know CQB. If you don’t know CQB a rifle make it more difficult for you. It’s just great to have something that’s “easier” to get hits with, more fire power…

    There is a part of the film where the protagonist fires a volley of shots with a galil against the wall, this type of situation of staying behind the wall as cover does not offer much protection like holy crappy

    • @Forward_Concepts

      Holy crap- it’s not supposed to add “protection” …concealment is a thing. Meaning if they can’t see you and don’t know where you are…it’s helpful.
      We just make believe stuff we’ve seen one time or in movies …ok, I guess just burn the house down or run around the house with your hair on fire over committing yourself to everything as if you can cover 6 angles at once.

    I have a question. Is it worth it to let the door breath than to just fully open it? Because if there is a guy in there if he sees/hears the door open now he knows youre coming compared to if you open it fast and clear it. Lmk of im wrong because again i have no experience with any of this stuff and im sure you do

    • @Forward_Concepts
      @Forward_Concepts  8 месяцев назад +3

      More explanation is in the full length video linked at the bottom of the short. But since we are already in the house and we at a minimum knocked and announce then he knows we are inside somewhere. We are accounting for the worst case scenario which is the bad guy staring at the door waiting for movement. If we let it breathe and he starts shooting, at least we have concealment from the door and he can’t see what he is shooting at…

    • @Forward_Concepts
      @Forward_Concepts  9 месяцев назад

      Pretty hard to do...especially since if you are kicking the door you should do it like a "donkey kick" so you don't blow out your knee...in which case hitting the door knob is very impractical. The vast majority of interior residential doors can be easily kicked open anywhere near the latch...but yes high near the knob/latch is ideal.
