Dope video. Want a Mamiya 7 so bad, heading to Japan next week, may try to track one down. Also the Motion graphic work with the end credits is super dope. Great work guys!
good shots and great video and great camera / i have an 7ii with the 43 and 65 and can't make up my mind which one to use often as i want them both for different reasons / awesome tools
Really awesome camera, I'm still not sure which I prefer, this or the Makina, not that it matters since neither is in the budget! But the fact that the 7's are rather expensive on eBay says a lot about how highly regarded this camera is and its easy to why. But any camera is only as good as the person using it and in your hands it takes wonderful images! Great work George!
I have this Mamiya 7 ii camera and have 4 lenses but have delayed using it because I am so familiar with the use of my Nikon F3 HP film camera. I only shoot 400 TriX at the moment. I am now re-learning to switch back to my Mamiya 7 ii for a year or so to get the bigger negatives. Thanks. RS. Canada
very nice, never really been a fan of a format outside of 35mm but this is really showing me (especially in portrait mode) how good it looks. Some great highlight shots in there as well as the video was a nice review of the 7
A close cousin and great camera is the Koni Omega Rapid. Originally designed in America for a WW2 military camera after the war it cost too much to make a civilian version in the US so they had it made in Japan originally by Konica. Mamiya eventually bought the production of the camera from Konica and it was a big influence on all the Mamiya 6x7 press cameras. Plus having a bolt action camera is just cool. :)
I don't think the film curtain is there so much for the purpose of changing film, although I guess you can use it as such. Its moreso for changing lenses.
You shot a Portuguese flag. Ha! Was totally not expecting that. Also, I love your videos, everything from the content to the edition are great. Good job to you both and keep it up!
Hey mate, nice video and images. FYI the dark curtain is to protect the film when changing lenses. Can't hurt to use it to protect the rear lens element though, especially on the 43mm. The 210mm seems like it doesn't make sense on paper, but it's actually a fantastic lens for landscape photography, used at infinity most of the time. Not much use for portraits though.
Lots and lots to learn from NEGATIVE FEEDBACK. I happen to have a MAMIYA 7 ii with the lenses. I am interested in portrait photos of 2 grandchildren with a 150 and 210 mm lenses and I am just starting to try with these lenses now. Any advice ? I will use a monopod or a tripod with 400 black and white film ( maybe Tri-X ? ) and practice until I improve. RS Canada
Used one for a bit, I have still never seen anything like the files from scanned negatives from that camera...and the prints...my god. May have to get another.
Great video - short - not a lot of technical bs - a video for people who actually SHOOT and enjoy checking out potential new cameras. Big fan, new subscriber. PS - Dope music.
This camera is David Bailey's favourite camera. Very costly, even secondhand. I agree. 6x7 is the Goldilocks format. Just right. I can't afford the Mamiya 7 so I have a Pentax 6x7 with a 55mm f4 wide angle lens and mostly use Kodak Tri X which I print on a 6x9 condenser enlarger using a 100mm 5.6 Schneider Componon S lens. I use Kodak Portra 400 for colour which I scan with my Epson V600 scanner.
He mentioned the expense of the leaf shutter lenses. It's true, but if one of the shutters goes bad in the field, you can always move to another lens and keep shooting. It's not a biggie for walk-around-and-shoot sessions, but when hiking in the back country, it's the difference between a good trip and a total loss.
Damn this camera is dumb sharp!! I can see how sharp it is from a video on the net - imagine how crazy sharp the actual negs are!!! You have some great shots! ANNNNNNDDDDDD This music!!!!!! FIRE!!!
Thinking back to your Leica M6 video, I would say you'd be better of buying a Mamiya 7 than a Leica M6. 135 film isn't really the best anyway, so if you're going to shoot more casual things on that, better to just go with a cheap Nikon or whatever from Ebay. But if you want high quality film, medium format's the way to go--more worth the cost and hassle of film. And the Mamiya 7's the most portable.
Hey George! So I know you said that with the 210mm you can't even focus thru the viewfinder, but what about the 150mm? Why would there be no point in buying a 150mm, like what if you need it for, lets say, portraits or something?
Hey guys, first of all congrats for everything that you do, the channel, the zine, the work. Everything is just so enjoyable and really beautifully crafted. I have a quick advice to ask, I'm gonna buy a Mamiya 7II from a private seller in a couple of day, with a 43mm, a 150mm and 80mm. Everything is apparently in perfect like-new conditions. I'm gonna meet and check the gear in a couple of days, what should I check to see if everything is right? And what price would you say is reasonable for the body plus the 3 lenses? Thanks so much !!
Love these videos, really want to start going out and shooting film myself very soon. Could you possibly include where in London and around you go to shoot? I often find myself stuck for locations
+NegativeFeedback Hi guys, Thanks for all you do. I have a question: I am using a Mamiya 7 with 65mm lens. up to which distance would you use the frame lines and when on the contrary would you frame through the whole finder? Thanks
Dude these videos are AMAZING, what colour grading settings did you use? Can you make a video on it? I have no idea about colour grading so IDK If it was easy or a preset. These videos are what youtube was made for. It's so well produced but its kind of education and awesome, love ya dude.
Went to eBay thinking I'd try and pick one of these up. Saw the price and quickly closed eBay.
You are one of millions. When film wasn't really in fashion I tried to get one. It was about 2 grand I thought stuff that.....regret it now.
I feel like this channel was way ahead of its time. Still return ever so often to rewatch these vids.
Fresh cut, boy
I'm also convinced that the Fuji Pro 160 NS tag never leaves the memo clip on your film door, hah!
I'm glad someone else noticed this haha
Believe it or not this was filmed a week after the cut, I was full on skin thug
Yooo Mike!! Love your vids too!!
Did Gerge get a haircut or did I become the new host of negative feedback?
Thanks for your influence, George. I ordered my mamiya 6 last night. Your page means a lot!
Incredible shots in the highlight reel, mostly amazing light and composition
Well, you finally tempted me over the edge, well done George! I just ordered a 7II with the 65mm.
how louis! how is it keeping 4 years on if you still own?
These videos keep getting better and better. Keep up the great work!
Dope video. Want a Mamiya 7 so bad, heading to Japan next week, may try to track one down. Also the Motion graphic work with the end credits is super dope. Great work guys!
Andrew Cenci did you have any luck finding one in Japan?
^ ^ ^
Is amazing this camera and quality pictures.
Good to hear a new tune! Liked that music at the end!
Love the music,.British accent, and editing. I'm a street shooter and I love watching the your videos. Its cameras and chill. Please keep it up.
The new music sounds dope
Remix from the song Lighthouse by Patrick Watson! :)
do you know who did the remix?
Most of the music is fs&hg
Beautiful work George. I definitely need to get my hands on a Mamiya 7 to give it a go. It's been on my list for a while!
I don't know if someone ever noticed that, but! The music choice in your whole channel series are absolutely amazing!
Great video as always! This camera is on top of my wish list
please do a video of the start to finish as far as getting your film processed and then what you do from there! :)
The combination of music and pictures (video also) is perfect for me. Your channel is really one of my favourite.
Regards
fantastic images mate.
good shots and great video and great camera / i have an 7ii with the 43 and 65 and can't make up my mind which one to use often as i want them both for different reasons / awesome tools

nicely done.

Saving for this camera! Planning on grabbing it by February. Cheers from Seattle, WA - #keepshooting
love the best of! My favourite is the empty garden chairs on the lawn
Great cammera i got actualy NIKON D4 but in future i must have this cammera lovley medium format
very nice, never really been a fan of a format outside of 35mm but this is really showing me (especially in portrait mode) how good it looks. Some great highlight shots in there as well as the video was a nice review of the 7
That camera is incredibly expensive for mere mortals...
A close cousin and great camera is the Koni Omega Rapid. Mamiya eventually bought the production of the camera from Konica and it was a big influence on all the Mamiya 6x7 press cameras. Plus having a bolt action camera is just cool. :)
Also build quality is not good. I opted for the pentax 67.
Awesome video, thanks man. You're not helping my obsession with acquiring this camera!
Thanks for the tips! Amazing work and the music gives everything a great feel and helps the learning process.
Keep doing what you're doing.
Best camera I've ever had. It's amazing for everything.
such a nice video! thanks for creating 🌟
Brixton represent! Really inspired by your colour stuff.
Just discovered your channel. Love it.
I don't think the film curtain is there so much for the purpose of changing film, although I guess you can use it as such. Its moreso for changing lenses.
i miss this
this channel is brilliant
Gr8 that you changed the music instead of dissmissing it just because it was negative feedback...
The photos at the end are just magnificent. Really nice!
personally wasn't such a fan of the Illford shots earlier in the video but that highlight reel was so wicked
awesome video!
I missed you George, comeback pls
Finally some new music :)
Þorsteinn Hængur Jónsson i looovvve your name!
Þorsteinn Hængur Jónsson i looovvve your name!
lol and then there's me. the most western-sounding icelandic person on the planet bahaha
haha but seriously though. the ae is very very cool.
Can't believe I didn't know about this channel, great video, subscribing!
A little extra would be to use a yellow or orange filter to preserve the sky.
I have the Mamiya 6. Love the 6x6
great video! keep doing them
Can you do a video about composition? Beyond just an introduction to rule of 3rds- I find it hard to see what makes a photo "good"
You shot a Portuguese flag. Ha! Was totally not expecting that. Also, I love your videos, everything from the content to the edition are great. Good job to you both and keep it up!
Cool camera mamiya7👍
photography from a milennial perspective. I love it. just subbed!
Refreshing content. Keep it going. I nearly bought a Mamiya 7 II, until I found a great barely used Bronica RF645.
love this

Digging the haircut George 👌🏻 nice vid as always. Pleeeease tell me there's a shooting in Dubai video coming up!

It sucks how there's no Royalty on Shooting Style and Originality. Great video, keep it up and more success. Good luck!.
Best portable 6x7 camera in the world!

Broooo, sick video. Informative, fun, excellent music(!), and some spankin' photos!
Superb video as always. Do you know any websites/shops where I can get a camera strap like that?
You guys have the best looking grades on your A7s footage, really good job at handling weird sony colors!
Hey George! So I know you said that with the 210mm you can't even focus thru the viewfinder, but what about the 150mm? Why would there be no point in buying a 150mm, like what if you need it for, lets say, portraits or something?
Another great video, I wanna see you shoot some Dx coded cinestill800t through the contax or your Leica.
does anyone know any similar channels to this, im honestly such a huge fan and would love to follow more content like this
Matt Day kind of?
Yeah, there's a channel called Analog Process that's similar to negative feedback
eduardo pavez
Ted Forbes: The Art of Photography you will definitely learn so much from his vlogs
Not as same level as the one below, but I started my 1 roll 1 camera series as well
killing the game!
Hey guys, first of all congrats for everything that you do, the channel, the zine, the work. Everything is just so enjoyable and really beautifully crafted. Just found this channel. Nice mood
I like it!
keep it up guys :)
do you use any filters in post production? Love the grainy vibe
R Phillips it has to do with what kind of film you use. 200, 400..etc.
The videos are graded but the photos are fresh out the lab
R Phillips film gives it the grain
i was talking about the video itself
i'm too poor for medium format, i'll just stick to my nikon fm2 thanks very much
My dad just gave me his old camera, and it's a Mamiya! So happy to be able to use it. i feel so lucky :)
Sort of fell into this, but there is something going on. I wouldn't want to miss it.
why does the aspect ratio change when going between landscape and portrait?
Really nice photos! I think the camera is really amazing one! What color film do you usually use?
Any tips on using flash with this camera as i find it hard to shoot in lower light places like indoors without going below 1/60?
Great video !! I'm curious, does your Mamiya7 fit inside your supreme shoulder bag? Thanks
I think I prefer the GF670, it feels more robust, much better build, great finder, just as sharp, smaller and lighter.
Awesome videos man
Do you scan the negatives or prints to get them online? Or does the print house email them to you? They are so sharp, love your channel.
Love these videos, really want to start going out and shooting film myself very soon. Could you possibly include where in London and around you go to shoot? I often find myself stuck for locations
ki griffin right outside your door is a good place to start. go for a walk.
You should do a video with Logan hill
feeling the new haircut
I'm prscticing with the Pentax k1000 but this is my dream camera. Hopefully a Leica one day 😭
I'd love to own this camera!
This one or a X-PAN :)
+NegativeFeedback Hi guys, Thanks for all you do. I have a question: I am using a Mamiya 7 with 65mm lens. up to which distance would you use the frame lines and when on the contrary would you frame through the whole finder? Thanks
Hi George, may I know what type of lens filter you were using for your M7? Thanks a lot for sharing :)
2020 bye to an old friend 🖐
You cut your hair! Looks good bro! Love the photos too!
can you do a video of how you guys develop your 120 film?
thanks!!! Nice review!!
www.bayeux.co.uk but I'd recomend www.ag-photolab.co.uk
Thanks!
Dude these videos are AMAZING, what colour grading settings did you use? Can you make a video on it? I have no idea about colour grading so IDK If it was easy or a preset. These videos are what youtube was made for.
It's so well produced but its kind of education and awesome, love ya dude.
I literally see you everywhere Nancy lol haha
Nothing like my Fuji gw680. The shutter sounds like a very loud disposable camera.
This wonderful review is the reason why you can't afford a Mamiya 7
i wanna get one now
how do you convert analog photos to the digital?
You will need to have them scanned in
Love your show, that 7 is a hot camera, are we going to see a review of the Makina any time soon?
