      For sure, and the thing I really like about the "short staff" traditional stuff 9from any art!) is that it is easily applied to umbrella, walking stick etc so stay relevant.

    I appreciate how open Nick is about their waza, Ninpo is often shrouded in "mystery" and techniques are hidden which seems ridiculous. Good on him

    The textbook kata techniques are solid. Now demonstrate them with real scenarios with real attacks. It will change the Taisabaki dynamics.

    A lot of these would work with a Jo if you shortened it up with a mid grip? Definitely worth experimenting with i think, although I would keep them more single movement, simpler perhaps

    The strangle reminds me of the Iwama jo kumi tachi number 10, do these come from the fact a short staff would be easier to conceal assuming originally these guys would be working using stealth?
