The first time I listened to Dawn FM and it got to this track, I immediately knew this was going to be a hit, the way he samples Midnight pretenders, and how he adds his own twist to it is so smooth.
I won't deny that this song sounds really good productionwise, but isn't this pretty much a full on rip off? I mean he pretty much copied everything from the Original, this isn't just a tiny sample. Even his singing is similar to the original at some points.

I think it's time for The Weeknd's "Trilogy" era fans to let go of the Trilogy. We all loved that mixtape series. House of Balloons came out over 10 years ago. He's changed, we've all changed. He's no longer homeless, depressed, etc. We can appreciate that era but we need to accept that we will probably never hear that kind of music again. His growth and journey since then has been amazing. I've been a fan and will always be a fan because I've learned to appreciate his music and being open minded to he brings us.

This project is psychedelic, eponymous and has a retro consistency. It has a sonic delineation immitative of daytime and nighttime radio. The promotional arts and videos are visual testament to the depth of creativity that went into making this album. I love Abel and I guess you could say I’m blinded by the lights of my bias (no pun intended). Dawn FM takes you to a purgatory. A matrix, if you will. This album is a reminder of the hold radio programming once had on music. He took a risk in the first sonic half of the album with the almost repetitive intrumentation but Abel being Abel, it was magic after magic track after track. No better way to start off the dawn of the year than with Dawn FM.

The first time I listened to Dawn FM and it got to this track, I immediately knew this was going to be a hit, the way he samples Midnight pretenders, and how he adds his own twist to it is so smooth.
I won't deny that this song sounds really good productionwise, but isn't this pretty much a full on rip off? I mean he pretty much copied everything from the Original, this isn't just a tiny sample. Even his singing is similar to the original at some points.

I think it's time for The Weeknd's "Trilogy" era fans to let go of the Trilogy. We all loved that mixtape series. House of Balloons came out over 10 years ago. He's changed, we've all changed. He's no longer homeless, depressed, etc. We can appreciate that era but we need to accept that we will probably never hear that kind of music again. His growth and journey since then has been amazing. I've been a fan and will always be a fan because I've learned to appreciate his music and being open minded to he brings us.

I’ve been listening to him since I was around 11 years old. I didn’t know what any of his music meant back then, all I did was vibe and dance. But his music has impacted me on such a spiritual level.. I can’t explain it. Honestly I’d give him a big a$$ hug and thank him for helping me through my depression. This project is psychedelic, eponymous and has a retro consistency. It has a sonic delineation immitative of daytime and nighttime radio. The promotional arts and videos are visual testament to the depth of creativity that went into making this album. I love Abel and I guess you could say I’m blinded by the lights of my bias (no pun intended).
Dawn FM takes you to a purgatory. A matrix, if you will. This album is a reminder of the hold radio programming once had on music. He took a risk in the first sonic half of the album with the almost repetitive intrumentation but Abel being Abel, it was magic after magic track after track.
No better way to start off the dawn of the year than with Dawn FM.
