*Very cool trip. I'm going to do it in July too. Can you tell me if there are any gas stations or places to take a shower?*

No, not on the trail itself. The closest showers and gas will be in Moab. The trail does have plenty of vault toilets, which is helpful on long drive days.

Hi, I have a couple more questions. please advise! Do I have to make a permit and can I stay anywhere or do I need to look for a free campground?

You do have to have a permit and stay in designated campsites. You can reserve campsites on recreation.gov. when you reserve them, that essentially acts as your permit.
