Hannah did such a wonderful job displaying the quiet pain simmering beneath Rebecca's tough exterior. It would've been easy to make the character too abrasive but her humanity was apparent throughout the entire show.
It never tries to inspire cheap emotional responses. It leans out of the cliches and avoids building drama through character vs character conflict, but rather earns every emotion and builds drama through character growth. Everyone is given a glace at their humanity and their choices and it shows that those that choose poorly, end up bitter and alone.
Juno Temple does an amazing job here with her hesitance in breaking the bad news. Excellent comedy with the stuttering, looking down periodically, and the very soft "old Rebecca" before being made to say it loudly 😂
It's funny because New Rebecca is played by Keeley Hazell who Keeley is based on.
Damn... didn't even recognise her - had to go and look at some of the scenes on RUclips (I.e. the Darts Game) to confirm it... I had a Keeley calendar once... even met her in person briefly. That was awkward!

Jason, Brett, and Brendan are writers on the show so nope, same writers. It's just taken a more mental health focused theme
it felt like the perfect progression to me! can i ask what you felt was different
you should also keep in mind the fact that they're setting up for an awesome season 3
The only thing I didn’t like was Nate going from one of the nicest characters in the show to being an absolute prick.
I can kind of get it: I know someone that started acting nasty, claiming that she was “just showing backbone” (and repeated that idiotic phrase so often, I almost feel sick just thinking of it). But Nate seems too intelligent to slip into that level of pathetic, self-important stupidity.
@@oldspice051 nates shown signs of being, let's say not the greatest guy, from early on in the show. and the reality of people becoming becoming seemingly their polar opposite when given a position of power, that's something that happens too:(
i hate to see nate like this, but i believe it's just as likely a character arc as the wonderfully positive ones from people like Rebecca and the team members who were only characterised as surface level bullies
So fragile they are. Smh. If a man heard the same news, he'd be thinking about what he's gonna accomplish that day and then do it. Not let a stupid little thing like "Old Rebecca" until he cries his hear out. For such a "powerful" woman, she sure acts powerless....unless she can find a beta to help build up her self esteem. Lol This is an okay show but it could be so much more if people would stop pandering to feminists or lgbtq...f....h....b )whatever they named themselves lol) weirdos and grounded this show to a reality we all can relate to. Hollywood is done. Oh well, I'm gonna go eat my dinner my.woman made me. Prolly have dessert later and then a cigar with a nice whiskey.

Well hello knuckle-dragger, thanks for offering your opinion. Oh, hey, just a thought--not everyone shifted their brain to "Park" to ignore the concerns of others. You basically just stared down your nose at a whole show and tossed out sexist/chauvinistic backhanded comments to make yourself feel so important. It's laughable and eminently pathetic, but you do you. (FYI, I'm a straight mid-50s white guy and no, I don't agree with you at all--you sound like a prig.)

Pandering to the LGBTQ? I don't think there's a single gay character in the show! There are plenty of shows made by men for men that you can watch, the real reason you think that Feminism and LGBTQ is being pushed in your face is that you are clearly ultra sensitive to that stuff! Also, I think most men would also be aggrieved to find out that their ex-partner had found someone new within a few months who is like 20 years younger, that's really not a feminist thing man
