And then when they made DKC for GBC they used DK Land's ship music as the K. Rool final boss theme and the circle is complete.

As for the DK Land K. Rool final boss theme... it was destined for Blast Corps.

Had no idea about the Blast Corps one, this is really cool!
This feels like it could have been a funny little running gag for the series - every DKC game having its own version of the theme, and have it present somewhere in the game, only for it to be interrupted every time. Wouldn't feel very out of place as a bit of a meta-gag!
I know my DK pretty well, but I live in fear of someone telling me I missed a version of the ship theme in, like, DK Jungle Climber or something
Donkey Kong Country has some of my favorite music out there, next to the early Gameboy Kirby music.
When you were talking about the theme never showing up again I was expecting the Super Smash Brothers Ultimate version to come up but then nope - a GBA title I'd never heard of before!
Very good video style! kinda reminds me of some of the old angry video game nerd video format.
Now I can't wait for what you gonna show us about tropical freeze variants of the Barrel levels.
What an amazing series
I love the barrel blast music(s), and also what they did for the mine cart levels; definitely worth a video! Thanks for the idea.
@@NicD yeah, the mine kart also have so many memorable sections.
There are parts where the music coincides with what happens on the screen, like a string of bananas will play close to a scale of an harp or something, it's magic.
The attention to detail in videogames when it comes to music it's out of this world.

I think you should list the presented music list used in the video somewhere like in the description. I would love to see the titles of the songs for easy referencing.
I really like the Gangplank Galleon music, so enjoyed finding out there was another version from Donkey Kong Land.
"I really like the Gangplank Galleon music, so enjoyed finding out there was another version from Donkey Kong Land."
EXACTLY what I envisioned. (And frankly this Game Boy soundtrack is incredible, with David Wise returning but Graeme Norgate almost stealing the spotlight!?)
Oh and you're right: I link to the explanation video, but a direct link to the document would come in handy. Adding it.
Hello again; I misinterpreted you.
Future videos (that are not already finalized, anyway) display the track names.
@@NicD 👍
Cannon.

Quite a grind for quite a while

When possible and if it's not too much of a hassle, it would be great to mention and/or include in the description the name(s) of the composer(s) in these. For example, I do not know who is behind this theme specifically, but I do know that Grant Kirkhope worked on many soundtracks for Rare, and it's cool to know when a composer worked on which songs, so you can go "Oh, that's why this theme sounds familiar".
You are entirely right. My intention is to make these videos as straight-to-the-point as possible, so the composers are irrelevant... but I'll add them to the description retroactively and from now on.
DK Land 1 was co-composed by David Wise and Graeme Norgate, with Wise responsible for "finishing" his ship theme, while Norgate notably made some of the late-game boppers.
Grant Kirkhope actually worked on converting the DKC2 soundtrack toward DK Land 2 before he composed anything for Rare!
aren't like, half of DKC songs just leit motifs of bramble scramble ?
Tropical Freeze has a couple, but what examples do you have in mind?
@@NicD I think sticker brush symphony is the more popular one
the world map in some areas iirc, some cave levels have it and many more I don't recall.
but what I remember is most ppl say sticker brush symphony is the original ( bc that's in smash) but I'm fairly certain bramble scramble *Is the first time it's used
Well, Bramble Scramble is the name of the stage in which first plays the track Stickerbush Symphony, which for some reason everyone used to spell "Stickerbrush" as you do.
You mention world maps, but I can't recall any trace of Stickerbush Symphony in either of the DKC games, nor in DK64 or the two DKCR.
However it is referenced in Tropical Freeze 2-3 times, notably at the end of the credits (at 3:45 here).
