Thank you everyone for all the support! Please check out this quick message I made expressing my gratitude and also a better 1:1 comparison of the before and after: ruclips.net/video/eE0E9gqi_Rc/видео.html I wish I had edited it together the way it is in that video rather than changing aspect ratios and zooming in as I did in this one. More cool content soon! Cheers!
Honestly man, this is amazing. i can relate to what you say, I've recently got into Digital art myself, and I'm making characters for a game :)
OMGGGG I HAD THE SPIDER MAN CARTOON MAKER!!!!!!!!!! I used to play with that for hoooooouuuurrrss!!!! led me to study 3d animation and now I'm a graphic designer, boooo! lol
Do you know where to find the unedited video of Jurassic Park, Avengers or other films? This means the video on which the green screen can still be seen or the actor still has the motion tracking suit on. I would be very happy about an answer.
Thaks in Advance.
So how long did it take you to edit that for yom holland scene can you give me how long it took you
So inspiring to see how it's done by somebody who works in the industry!
Thank you for watching!

You deserve a standing ovation, coz you took us through the whole journey, which others would want us to pay them to at the least have a sneak peek on!
That is very kind of you and means a lot. Thank you.
hey i too work with blender, but this this is mind blowing!! like i used to think that there was a real suit for spider man but these efforts oh man hats off to you
Thank you so much 😀
Every now and then the recommendations actually function properly and lead me to cool creators like yourself. Subbed
Awesome! Thank you!
Ohhh my god its is on a whole next level i love it 😍
its so interesting, informative just perfect ....
Thanks for watching!
This is amazing most definitely deserves more views.
Thank you, glad you enjoyed!
This is amazing. I had an interest in this field when I was younger, even went to university for it but I left midway through due to somethings and now and again get the urge to try and get back into it. Knowing the time it takes to do pushes me away because free time is scarce but this is one of those videos that make my urge grow and its with possibly my favourite character. So glad I found this channel, although I'd be using blender because I can't afford Autodesk but used it in school, I can still take inspiration and learn some things ✌🏽
Just take it a little at a time, you can do it even if it takes a little longer. Keep at it. I believe in you. Good luck, all the best! Thanks for watching!
You have no idea how much I needed to hear that, even just in general. Congrats on 250k+ views! 🎉
Wooowwwww!!! It was glorious!
Thanks for the kind words.
it was amazing

hmmm i am very curious what you used on the red

Can I download your spiderman 3d model? BTW that was good vid
Hey thanks for watching! I’m not planning on giving out any files on this one. Cheers!
This is flawless! Amazing job! I loved seeing the VFX process to this!
Thanks, glad you enjoyed!
Wow it's really great to see the whole thing end to end. No joke on being a serious generalist who can pull off this level of finesse in each part of the workflow. Looking forward to more!
Thanks Willie!
This is crazy. TFS. Please upload more of these kind of videos.
Thank you!
This is insane ! the amount of details you put into this is just top notch really wish i had a rig that good for my models, love the muscle details on the sculpt and blendshapes, saw you're other work on instagram gotta say you're art are brilliant, you're attention to detail in likeness is phenomenal can't wait to see more !
Thanks for watching and sincerely for the kind words!
"This is insane" literally the first words that came to my mind, and then from then on repeated.
I’m not into vfx or know how it works even after I had classes in college for it but this is incredible work, might wanna give it a go again.
Glad to have inspired you. If it’s a goal of yours don’t give up and when you hit frustrating moments remember that is a part of learning and you are just on one side of many breakthroughs you’ll have. All the best.
Respect to you ❤❤❤❤

He's a professional VFX artist, who cares about RUclips subscribers?
It's perfect 💙🔥
Thank you!
I've always wondered how you go from awkward 3d match move to something that feels so alive. Really great stuff thanks for sharing your process! :) x
Appreciate the nice comment!
I'm a graphic designer and I enjoy looking at other related professions' breakdowns, and this is no exception. Great job!
Glad to hear that you got something out of it!
Bro, it's the best tutorial i've ever seen. Really nice, I believe we will see more in future
Thanks, glad you enjoyed it.
Wait so he actually doesn't wear the suit?
Videos like this inspire me to study and be a VFX artist, keep the good job man!
These are the best type of comments! Thank you!
This is amazing! Best thing I’ve seen in a while, super excited to see what you upload in the future! I’m currently studying to become a Concept Artist but I love the “magic” behind visual effects, so I’ll definitively be looking into your work!
Awesome best of luck on your art journey! Happy new year!
@@3dcharacterartist649 Thank you! Happy new year to you too, best of luck! Saludos desde México 🇲🇽
Thanks for going thru all of the steps when it came to making this VFX. It helps me better understand these kind of shots and what’s needed to pull them off.
Awesome, thank you!
It honestly just depresses me how much the MCU just slaps CGI over Tom even if they filmed with a suit on location
I think they have done a good mix of practical and CG suits especially in the Home trilogy. Thanks for your comment! Cheers!
I’ve said this since Homecoming came out: I hope they remaster Civil War one day since understanding how the suit’s design translates when it’s physically made. He looked great in both FFH and NWH but the suit looked like it was made of different material and functioned differently even between scenes in Homecoming. Suspension of disbelief wants to just buy it’s the same suit in Civil War and Homecoming but they’re so completely off. I’m saying this because your work here looks like it should just be pasted right over the entire airport battle and ferry sequence.
Most superhero films as they progress have slight variations to the suits even when they are supposed to be the same in the story. Toby’s suit changed, but you have to look closely to notice. Each movie makes new advancements, has new challenges etc. I love them all. Having a real suit does help even for reference, when I was doing this type of shot work for Ant-Man I was able to actually wear parts of the suit while I worked to see how it moved. Thanks so much for your kindness and for watching!
@@3dcharacterartist649 totally. Not to be so jaded and dismiss the work of all the artists on Civil War but the difference between that and the rest of the appearances doesn’t need to be looked at closely to notice. It’s not a damnable offense because they were on a time crunch and the physical suit hadn’t been made. I would just appreciate them going back and fixing it like they did with some Star Wars VFX. With the evolution of Tobey’s suit across his trilogy, we know he had to restore it after each film from the damage of the final battles. Tom literally carries the Civil War suit up in a case at the beginning of Homecoming and it’s very different from how it looked before. It’s a nitpick but it always stood out to me, then the inconsistencies just within Homecoming where it went from picture-ready to full PS2.

100% I’ve been putting the hashtag on this as #spidermanmadeathome lol. Someday though I do hope for all these studies to lead to a larger endeavor. Cheers!
@@3dcharacterartist649 thanks for this breakdown! Very good overview

Thanks J
Great, I'm just starting out with MAYA and this is a huge inspiration for me to stay focused on the path of animation. Because whenever I want to animate, I just feel like it's a slow and hard work. But after seeing you compare it to your dreams, I feel like it's not slow and hard anymore.
You can 100% accomplish your goals, just stick with it. Thanks for watching and sharing your thoughts!
No way dude u'll hit millions of views like that also check anime u'll surprisingly love making vfx of it
How can i study vfx and become like you?
Thanks for watching!
This is a spectacular and extremely useful video, I'd love to see more workflow videos from you in the future. 💛
Thanks so much for the support, glad you enjoyed!
Wow bro....you are so talented...i hope one day you will get a chance to join marvel VFX team💗
Thanks for watching!
It’s so cool to see the process from someone behind these movies, I would love to have like a full tutorial series on how to make Hollywood level VFX or one where you delve deeper on anatomy.
I’ll add those to the list for future videos, thank you for the suggestions and for watching!

So good. I work with Blender. Any go to recommendations for us blender users?
I’ve used Blender a bit, you can do basically all the same things. It’s a great program. My advice is not to focus on the program, but the art principles and practice.
I thought it was clickbait (I still looked at it either way). Great job. Amazed how well it was done.
Appreciate you watching, thanks for the kind words!
I find it so interesting that after all of this intensive work, it still doesn't look photoreal. And that's not to diss you, what you have shown here is truly informative. I think there's probably a lot of lighting, reflections, and colour grading that helps. Also how those materials look really flat here which I don't really understand, is that to do with resolutions, or is that all about grazing angles, getting the light to catch the bumps? But that just makes me think how for the films they have so many more specialised teams come together to make something look great. But thank you so much for sharing your expertise! Definitely a new subscriber.
Thanks for watching!
You are so kind and calm, if I was your brother I would be so happy to live with you.
All the best to you.
Even though I had vfx classes in college, I still don't understand how it works, but this is fantastic work, and I might give it another shot.
Awesome, I hope you do! Thanks for watching!
How you deal with the wrinkles, how dense is that mesh? any explanation about that please?
You make the mesh as dense as you need to handle where you want wrinkles. Generally the least amount of topology you need to make a wrinkle is three parallel loops, one for the start, peak and end of the wrinkle. If you need something with tons of tiny wrinkles you’ll need to test and make sure your mesh can support what you need it to. Cheers, thanks for watching!
Very impressive! Did you do the cgi for the mcu movies for spiderman?
Yes, the clips in the intro are all shots I contributed to with a lot of other talented folks.
@@3dcharacterartist649 woah
*How can I get this model or the resources used to make the fabric texture❓❓❓❓*
I am not doing a give away on this one, but you could reproduce in Maya, Zbrush and Substance. Cheers!
This is so cool, love seeing the work that it takes to make these things makes me appreciate them more.
Awesome, thanks Drew. More to come.

I'm guessing that you need a very strong pc to do this?
For the most part most off the shelf laptops would be able to handle. This isn’t too intensive.
your work is incredible!
I watched this video like five times!
The video is super interesting and fun to watch!

wow its so amazing👌🏻👍🏻👍🏻
its VFX same like CGI?
VFX=Visual Effects CGI=Computer generated imagery. Thanks for watching!
Good job dude!
Thanks!
So can we use this method if we can't access expensive motion capture suits 🔥🔥🔥
This was amazing, great job! Being completely out of the loop in everything 3D-related, I was amazed through every step of the process!
I have a question that came to my mind after watching it, though. Tom Holland was wearing a motion capture suit in the original shot, and I've read something about some films doing a full body scan (using some device with many cameras) to help with the CGI process. Are those incorporated in the film? Like, could the scan be used to provide at least a first template for the model, and then use the motion trackers to have an alpha version of it in movement (obviously, to be fine-tuned later by actual VFX artists)? I appreciate you making the model from scratch and manually imposing it over the shot, and I understand how well it works as a demo, but I wonder if those work when you're working in the actual films.
For a production, yes most likely they would scan the actor and then we would build a CG suit on top of that. From there most of the process is the same. You are correct the actor is wearing a mocap suit and if I had that data I’d have been able to use it to help with the animation. Not every shot works like that though and some use this very same process when that is the case. Thank you for watching, your good questions and for your support. Cheers!

7:43 so you have do this for EVERY position manually ?
Not every position, just throughout the sequence wherever you want to improve it. If you a clever about it you can reuse a shape later on or have that shape last a while.
You have to do some more videos like this! Vfx is so awesome
Thank you!
why want you just let tom where the spiderman suit

I really don't like how the MCU version of Spider-Man looks, the suit never looks like a real thing.
I like each of the spider suits for different reasons. Thanks for stopping by!
@@3dcharacterartist649 The home made one from Homecoming looked really good though.
At about 8 minutes u say Spider-Man is Pronating and supinating his arm while actually he is abducting and adducting his arm
The audio isn’t perfectly matching what’s on screen during that point, you see him pronate and supinate a few seconds later along with the wrinkles as he turns his head. Thanks for watching.

Hello! Thanks for subscribing!
I thought big productions had every bone and muscle mapped onto a rig and then the muscles change shape automatically depending on how the rig moves. Not shape keys every 10 frames? This does seem more like something you would see in a cartoon movie.
Muscle simulation is definitely a part of the process, this shot modeling technique is almost always done on top to refine. Additionally, not every production has the time or budget to invest in making a perfect simulation. This finishing pass is a critical control to make sure your final frames look as best as possible. Thank you for watching.
this really makes you appreciate how beautiful is the Stark suit, loved it
