- Hey this is video 1 out of 5 in a Army BCT series I’m doing. Sorry I’m so tired in this video but I just had to do something because I’ve been slacking lately getting ready for deployment! Please subscribe for more and check out more videos I’ve made about Army Basic Training!

8 years in, E-6 here great video. Some tips:
1. Get in shape, your first mile out of the two should at least be within 8 minutes. Saves you a lot of trouble down the line in terms of general stamina for other physical activities as well. At least 20 push-ups and a 2 minute plank for the PT test. The rest you’ll adapt to eventually and that way you won’t fail.
2. Write your name on everything. Sometimes people steal, but generally speaking a-lot of people just get confused on what belongs to them with all the events going on. Don’t be lazy, secure your stuff.
3. Drill sergeants were once also privates too. If you think you’re clever about hiding something, think again. They’re not dumb, they know how to find anything and everything.
4. Learn to do ranger rolls, it’s essentially a specific way to organize your clothes. When they tell you to dump shit out fast, best believe they will tell you to pick it up fast as well. If your clothes are rolled up nicely and tightly, saves you a lot of stress from having to stuff your duffel back with all that shit.
5. Don’t take it personal. Too many people get into fights or can’t hold their emotions. Just imagine you’re in a reality TV show, everything is just in the moment and will pass. It’s better to observe and watch other people, I recommend to keep silent unless mandated.
6. Probably the most important tip ever, it’s not over until it’s over. This will extend even beyond boot camp and throughout your military career. When the waters are calm and the tensions are low, shit always seems to go down. Your biggest obstacle will be yourself. Keep yourself in check and until you cross that finish line in anything you do, always ask yourself “is it worth it?”
Best of luck future Soldiers.
Wow thank you so much SSG, these are great tips! I think I will made a new video on these talking points!! Have a good weekend 💪
Dont let your emotions show at all !!! The drills will eat that up and spit it out at you!!!!
