I’m currently trying to join went through meps and got to see a dermatologist for like a quarter sized skin patch they think is psoriasis, once they clear me I sign my contract n stuff. Doing that weight loss camp at Fort Jackson. Real excited. And this YT alone has made my life a lot easier.

@@TEAMSWARTZ well, we were sitting idle for a bit while we waited for instruction on what we were doing and in the midst of that a few people started talking and we got screamed at for that so since we "appeared bored" they had us to some exercises for about an hour. Granted said person was fine he landed sideways on his ankle bone during a training exercise and got messed up so we were all told to stay put until further notice. About an hour or so passed us and we naturally started talking to each other and then i heard is thunderous yelling "since everyone appears bored we can all get on our faces and exercise until they felt like letting us back up" 😭

I remember being at Ft. Jackson reception in 1976. I had just turned 17. I quickly realized I was in WAY over my head. This was post Vietnam and it was a whole different Army than now. They treated you like a complete sub human piece of garbage at reception. Even the civilian workers would yell and scream at you. In those days the Army took just about everyone. Many felons with waivers, mostly high school drop out’s. Fat bodies, you name it. They would give us smoke breaks. Even the private’s that were hold overs after graduating basic doing details at reception would talk shite to us. At my BCT company Charlie 9-2 on Tank Hill we were garbage. The 1 st Sgt was a total di ck. Our Drill Sergeant’s were a little better but they were always threatening to whip our asses. We had one guy who seemed slightly retarded. They 635-1 him out after about three weeks. In the meantime they brutalized him. Even the Company Commander, Captain Ramsaur, I’ll never forget him would enjoy screwing with him. It was disgusting. And cr In those days there was no random drug testing. Most of the enlisted regular Army were pot smokers. A lot of racial bs. The males and females did not train together. There were no female drill sergeants training guys. The Army still had their own cooks, etc. In basic we had KP once about every two weeks. It was hot as hell. You showed up at KP at 5 am, and got back to the barracks at about 8 pm. We had guys go AWOL and not come back.

I have a question please reply. Alright so I have butn scars on my right hand and it stands out I’m an immigrant american I came to the us when I was 4 so I got these burns in Ethiopia I’m now a citizen but to cut through the chase my burned hand functions just fine and there’s nothing wrong with it other then you can see the burn scars will this disqualify me?
Get your mom to hand write a letter explaining what happened in Ethiopia to explain the background for the burns and notarize it at your local bank or real estate agency. Go to your primary care provider and just have them assess your hand where the burns are and get an all clear letter stating that based on hearing your past and evaluating your hand that you are otherwise have a healthy hand with normal full range of lotion, grip and whatever else they can add to show you’re fine.
