Fun note- Ken Jeong is actually Korean. So the joke where he pretends to read Korean just to be told he's Chinese is a joke on the character's casting lol
As someone who used to watch GI Joe before grade school, the animation and toy commercials are pretty spot on!
As for the knowledge of GI Joe, all of the Joes have unique code names like Frostbite, Wet Suit, or Quick Kick. In the cartoon, they couldn’t show actual gunfire, so they used lasers.
"Why is Annie dressed like that?"
Annie's kinda young... they try not to sexualize her 🤣🤣🤣
As much as I love this edition of Community Monday, I am eagerly awaiting next week.
JESUS WEPT!!
This one just went up on Patreon, so it's another 2 weeks I fear!
i also always feel called out by the adulthood starting at 30 line lol
Jokes on you, I've still got... Ah shit 😞
@@matthewzeller5026 time flies eh? lol
Fun bit of trivia about episode 12: In the second half of the episode (and all of episode 13), Abed is wearing a Dead Alewives shirt. The Dead Alewives were an improv comedy troupe that Dan Harmon and a couple other Community writers/directors were a part of. And before you ask, alewives are a type of fish that would wash up on the Milwaukee beaches (where the group is from).
That “unsubscribe” from Leonard kills me every time 😂😂
Happy community Monday. Season 5 flew by, and i agree that while its maybe not as classic as the early seasons its still solid overall. Been enjoying the community journey
The tax apraiser is one of my very favorite characters
I appreciate the GI Joe episode more and more with each viewing. It's become a real highlight for me.
Also, Ronald Mohammad is fantastic.
I love how many times you talked about foot long prices 😂😂😂
Community Colleges are not supposed to (directly) create profit. Like parks, public schools, libraries and police and fire departments, and local governments.they are supposed to exist for the public good.
Can confirm: All Star by Smash Mouth is an anthem of a generation, and I'd argue that Smash Mouth doing the soundtrack for the original Shrek movie helped make it as popular as it is today.
They did it for the Mystery Men soundtrack, as seen in the music video.
Smash Mouth also featured prominently in the movie Rat Race which I believe also included All Star on the soundtrack
The insurance inspector needs to return one day, have a cameo in the film or something: one of the funniest one-off characters, so extra for no reason.
As an 80's kid who loved his Saturday mornings, the GI Joe episode was a delight.
Also: Buried! Treasure!!!
episode 11 was basically the inspiration for Wandavision
I always enjoy the offbeat artistic episodes of Community and the GI Joe special is no different. Fun satire of 80's capitalist merchandising
The problems with season 5 and 6 are that, even though Dan Harmon is back, losing so many characters really kind of cripples the show a bit, the writing is better but without Troy especially some of the magic of seasons 2 and 3 are lost
might help to try and get a white blanket or something to hang in front of the blackout curtain, so its not absorbing everything directly and then radiating it to you
Okay Britta popped off telling those kids we live in a facist state disguised as a democracy lol. I always laugh when Shirley calls her out for breaking the smoke detector. It's not my favorite episode of the show but its better on rewatch imo.
I think Danny Pudi actually was 38 when they filmed this episode
Definitely mid 30s. Maybe not quite 38. He's 45 as of now
@aar1551patd5115fob yeah you're right. I thought this episode was a little more recent but it's already been 10 years!
❤❤❤
what happened to your intro music??
I forgot to add it in 🫢
"Fifteen, fifteen dollar foot long" just doesn't have the same ring to it and it's not even actually 12 inches. God I hate Subway but I do appreciate them sponsoring Community.
I will thank them for helping save Community and Chuck, but will not partake in their "bread" sandwiches.
Jared is the only part of this show that should have been censored.
I think Jeff and Britta belong together too. :) As 5x12 and 5x13 were airing, we again were wondering if we could get to season 6, as fans had been clamoring for with the hashtag. We didn't know if this might be the end.
Nah: Jeff and Annie all the way.
But 5x12 and 5x13 are about how Jeff and Britta bad for each other. And #JeffandAnnie forever ❤
I enjoy your reactions, but the disrespect for 9-grain has me reconsidering! 😤
But have you had Italian herbs and cheese??!
@@shadowcatreacts I have; I suppose I've just been a 75-year-old man my whole life...
All star?!?!? I’m unsubscribing.
It's a cold place, and they say it gets colder 😔
i skip the GI joe episode. shits wack
Omg same! It's so cringe and awful I really get uncomfortable watching it so I just don't anymore lol
@muzikxjunkie410 I get not liking it, bit what about it makes you uncomfortable? Seems like an oddly strong reaction.
I really dislike that animated episode. It just feels wrong. I did not like how they handled Shirley in this one either.
