“It does work through walls and surfaces” I can’t tell you the number of times I have been stunned through a wall. I can specifically recall being stunned by a grenade on 6 star despite being in the underground walkway section and the stun grenade going off by the above ground statue lol
You missed one important fact or bug with the emp grenade you might want to add in a pinned comment. Currently the modular vest does not replenish them on pick up.
I'm fine with it being weaker, because something you didn't mention is that in bo2 using an EMP costed a pick 10 slot. Now you get a tactical free, sometimes two. So ya it needs to be less powerful. One of the many reasons pick 10 is superior.
It would’ve been useful if it countered trophy systems. It’s 50/50, but it add just as much focus to looking down and shooting it. It’s alright with the engineer vest tho

I think it’s better to use the ACS to hack their equipment (even with its 50/50 chances). EMP grenade is basically “DDOS in a can”. But that’s my perspective
EMP + DDoS is gonna be a great for a sapper class to break defences and banking up scorestreak points If I wanted to be more obnoxious then I’ll pack the Stormender and EMP killstreak to shut everything down :D
I would love if they made EMPs the hard counter to trophy’s, then make trophy’s equipment. All the field upgrades should be equipment, streaks, or removed entirely imo.

Huge nerf from old emp grenades. It shut completely shutdown your HUD, and destroy any tactical equipments, sentry gun, etc. Should also work through walls

Needs to deactivate players for atleast 10 seconds minimum. and equipment for potentially 15 seconds. Have a 12-15m radius and destroy more equipment except the placeable lethals.
Be near your claymore so if they survive it with eod you can finish them off quickly. If they emp it, they have put themselves on a 10 second timer to get past your claymore so they have limited their options. Most times, they will probably immediately sprint/jumpshot around the corner after the emp goes off, so you can prefire it or get adsed with your sniper rifle. Same situation, be close to your claymore so you can react when they emp it

It really helps with scorestreaks , and with ddos is almost instant 6+ streak count with 2 kills+2 assist

I find it useful on small maps to disable things like the sentry to get closer to it.

It should destroy all equipment and field upgrades. Disable a player HUD for at least 10 seconds. And disable streaks for 8 seconds.

probably cause there can still be some mines that are out of the radius of the emp so proper placement of the emp will be important
