The reason Cold War had such weird third person animations is because they literally attached the same first person animations to the third person body which meant the stock would clip through the body. Mw2 also uses this but has a lot of restraint with the more simpler but less glitchy third person animations but inspects also use the same first person animations too.
Not true. FPS games use separate first and third person models. If they used the same model then there wouldn’t be a head, neck or abdomen visible in third person
I always find these videos more interesting from the standpoint of what tiny detail they were willing to develop over actual mechanics to improve the game.
there was actually this crazy detail in Cold War I’ve never seen before, there is a strip of leather on the ak in the campaign that goes under the gun, after jumping down from a spot, the leather wrapped around the top of the gun and stayed there, I don’t know if I still it recorded (or if it is even a hidden details, could be a bug.)

false. the black ops series was never super detailed because they focus on being an arcade shooter and on gameplay. these details also tend to get lowered in quality and are not even noticed so can be cut to save money and time. even in 11 months cold war was still better than 2019 mw which only focused on being graphically great.

If you want a fairer comparison this should be sledgehammer vs Infinity ward. They crazy part is you still ignorantly failed to acknowledge what made 2019 a worse game than CW: The fact that they put gameplay mechanics over graphics. People don't want polished trash. They want a game with moderate graphics and good gameplay. Which is what black ops as a series has always done. Furthermore you want to shot on CW so bad yet not even acknowledging Vanguard. why would you compare the footing things so horribly? In MW2 you had stairs and a slope, and in Cold War, you put him on the edge of a boulder. There were literally sand dunes right behind you. It even looked like the operator's feet were attempting to do exactly what MW2 does.
MW2022 wins because it plays like a classic COD with added mechanics. Let me explain, Call Of Duty always had fast time to kill and had an arcadey, slightly fast pace (key word being ‘slightly’ since it did have some tactical shooter elements but not enough to classify COD as a tactical shooter) only in recent CODs did it turn into fast paced shooter with long time to kill. You guys do remember when you couldn’t sprint forever because your character would get tired after 3-5 seconds? Yeah, that was removed around BO3. Remember when landing from a jump and high place slowed you down? Yes that existed in old CODs, that was actually quite a recent removal/tweak, which enabled players bunny hop as effectively in recent games. MW2019 brought some of these concepts back and MW2022 added more of these classic features, like Dolphin diving, slowing down when rapidly jumping, etc… Essentially, MW2022 is attempting to go back to its roots, and merge them with the MW2019 mechanics. That also includes a fast TTK, though the close range TTK is slightly faster than in the old CODs but the TTK at long range is slower than the old CODs.
classic cod was not camping. it was run and gun. shoot and die. that is the meaning of an arcade shooter. a tactical shooter is the opposite, where you try to Survive, not Kill. u dont push you wait for someone else to bc the punishment is so bad. and thats why so many OG fans do not fuck with MWII. i dont wanna worry about footsteps i want to fight and win based on my gun Skill. not footsteps and positioning. classic COD.
End of the day Cold War is a FAR superior COD. Not really concerned with these little details when the gameplay is lackluster (MW2). Granted I speak mostly from a competitive COD standpoint. Cold War was far better in every way imaginable
say it again for the crowd. this is what makes that black ops series what it is: an arcade shooter. you dont need fancy details nobody is noticing when the gameplay is good.
@@blvckl0tcs750 exactly, I’m much more concerned with good weapons, well made maps, and useful streaks. And of course as a fan of competitive COD and a person who plays in leagues, a COD that plays well for comp is always a W in my book. And the past two CODS plus MW2019 really lacked any care for competitive. Cold War did well with it. I’m hoping whatever comes after MW2 gives much needed attention to the competitive side of things. I felt Cold War had a good balance between being great for casuals but also comp friendly. (SBMM in pubs aside. But that’s a whole different talk)
@@jacobgrum8829 to tell you the truth cod in general will never be good as a competitive game until a number of things regarding core mechanics are changed. Hopefully with the drastic mechanic change of 2022 MW, things comp wise go for the better.
@@jacobgrum8829 I actually disagree, I didn’t find Cold War’s gameplay enjoyable because it reminded me too much of the failure that was Black Ops 4. I was not a big fan of COD increasing its ttk from split seconds to seconds that much. Especially when both Cold War and Black Ops 4 suffer from one major problem, the dlc guns. And of course, Cold War also had and still has major balance issues. Enter the LC-10, a ‘dlc’ SMG that was supposed to have a slow fire rate but hit hard has been turned into a no recoil laser beam that outguns every single weapon in the game ten fold, just like the VMP in Black Ops 4. At launch, the MP5 for some reason was able to outgun the XM4 at every range while having barely any recoil and being an SMG, it also dealt more damage and seemed to fire faster than the XM4 on top of that. Not much has changed in that regard other than the XM4 is more usable. The secondaries are still heavily lacking compared to other COD games, like if I remember correctly, BO1 had 5 or 6 guns in the pistols category alone, meanwhile Cold War only reached that number near the end of it’s life cycle, also why the hell did the devs think that we need 11 melee weapons which only like 3 or 4 of them are actually unique (Those being combat knife, sledgehammer, Sai, and the e-tool which is essentially just the golden knife from COD Ghosts), the rest are just shitty reskins. The weapon variety was also shit, the game has so many assault rifles and smgs that most behave the exact same way that it makes the game boring, its like using the exact same gun but it just has a different model and animation, that’s it. Meanwhile categories like LMGs, Tactical rifles, pistols and shotguns were left in the dust most of the time. Gameplay-wise, Cold War is nothing special, if anything I would call it a downgrade of Black Ops 1. All the guns felt absolutely weak, the sniper rifles were nerfed so bad that it made the SVU from BO2 look like an exceptional sniper, the gunsmith felt so uninspired that they could have changed it to the classic one/two attachments on a gun with the classic attachments and no one would bat an eye, slow firing guns are at a constant disadvantage because guns that fire faster are more reliable at all times, Warzone integration (Warzone was much better before Cold War weapons were added, and I believe that Cold War would’ve been better too without Warzone, though I will admit, I enjoyed using the Stone operator in Warzone before Cold War was fully integrated), and the Open Alpha version of the game was much better than what it is now (except for zombies, I like the zombies mode the most). In conclusion, I think that Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War overall is in between ‘bad’ and ‘below average’ in a sense that the game tries to go back to CODs arcadey style of gameplay like Black Ops 1 and sort of fails to do so by doing the exact same thing Black Ops 3 and 4 did, adding way too many dlc weapons and adding unnecessary mechanics (like the operator system) into their game.
@@theescapeplan3876 I actually widely agree with what you’re saying. When I say it was a “good” COD I’m more so referring to the Warzone era so MW2019, CW, Vanguard, MW2. The TTK was a tad long and pubs were a bit annoying mid to late in the games life cycle due to DLC weapons. Overall tho I was more or less speaking MOSTLY from the side of competitive cod. It had a good skill gap, the AR’s and SMG’s were balanced on the map, and the maps were more 3 lane maps which is what COD should be. I certainly had my issues with Cold War, but in this new era of COD I feel it was the best. Personally I think Vanguard was a few design choices away from actually being decent but that’s a different talk. But I see your points and mostly agree with them all
The thing about keeping both eyes open is that real soldiers when in tense situations usually have both eyes open due to spacial awareness as well as adrenaline making it harder to keep them shut
@@toxicgracie3772 not if you're a hardened soldier who's used to not being able to sleep or have a moment's peace in a combat situation. This isn’t really a fair comparison considering that the modern warfare series focused on realism and the black ops series focused on a more arcadey feel.

With Iron sights you are supposed to aim with one eye closed, with dot optics you dont need to as its much easier to hold a sight picture and like other have said it gives you better spacial awareness. Funny enough in cold war she has both eyes open holding a sniper and normally you would have one eye closed to focus better with a larger scope. So MW2 was actually right and cold war was still wrong/worse.

Exactly edger but instead people would rather compare apples to oranges, because if we take that one fact alone MW2 should surpass CW in every way shape and form, but it doesn't, it was what I would even consider a down grade from cold war, sure it might be slightly better then vanguard but even that's a stretch. So many things they added that made the game worse instead of just using old formats that we all enjoy and have great user friendliness
But hey the attention to detail is great right guys, because the game doesn't function properly mechanically we should definitely be praising it for shit that doesn't even matter when it comes down to how to the game plays.

That one reload is making me pissed for a reason...
@@Riley_MDS every other animation conserves ammo, expect for a popular SMG
MW2 makes up for it, by making a cool ass animation for the Fennec
For some reason, it was a problem back then.
You can't possibly compare MW2 to Cold War where Tryarch Devs were working on the game during the Covid-19 pandemic remotely and Activition pushed them so much to release the game on the annual release.

technically the detail about fire not being on the roof is more realistic because of gravity and how molotovs work.
The legs comparison is super unfair, you can even see the BO character adjusting his feet position too, the rocks just have shit collision. Put them on some stairs too, I'm sure they have IK, even if it's tuned a little differently.
I’d still say this isn’t a fair comparison since Cold War was developed for less than a year
less than a year and still an amazing game wow
Man. People truly forget that CW didn’t get the same development time as other games. And it wasn’t meant to be super realistic like the MW games.
I feel like cold war would’ve been the best cod if they had more time working on it. I heard they had 6 months to work on it.
It was around a year but yes, significantly less time than everyone else. They also helped on the past 3 cod games but had no help on theirs.
Thats because treyarch had to take over after SHG messed it up so badly.
I'm surprised CoD Cold war has some of the details knowing how rushed it is. Imagine what they would have done given 1 more year
The reason Cold War had such weird third person animations is because they literally attached the same first person animations to the third person body which meant the stock would clip through the body.
Mw2 also uses this but has a lot of restraint with the more simpler but less glitchy third person animations but inspects also use the same first person animations too.
Basically budget difference are night n day
They're not the same anims, they're actually entirely separate
Not true. FPS games use separate first and third person models. If they used the same model then there wouldn’t be a head, neck or abdomen visible in third person
I love the super high resolution cold war textures. I don't understand why the texture resolution is lower in mw2 than in cw.

false. the black ops series was never super detailed because they focus on being an arcade shooter and on gameplay. these details also tend to get lowered in quality and are not even noticed so can be cut to save money and time. even in 11 months cold war was still better than 2019 mw which only focused on being graphically great.

how did you make this graphic? I have everything soapy
Cold war has doors in fireteam and zombies but you cant peak
And even after saying that, you will find people trying to excuse CW because "iT wAs aRcAdEy"
classic cod was not camping. it was run and gun. shoot and die. that is the meaning of an arcade shooter. a tactical shooter is the opposite, where you try to Survive, not Kill. u dont push you wait for someone else to bc the punishment is so bad. and thats why so many OG fans do not fuck with MWII. i dont wanna worry about footsteps i want to fight and win based on my gun Skill. not footsteps and positioning. classic COD.

Cold War > MW2
I disagree. But that’s my opinion, not yours. In MW2, every weapon is good. In Cold War, most of the weapons are quite shit, and the LC-10 is just straight up broken. Plus I prefer MW2’s more classic COD but with more modern elements feel than Cold War’s BO4 feel.
I love how the video goes from “Walking on Shell Casings” to “Ear Cartilage”
With Iron sights you are supposed to aim with one eye closed, with dot optics you dont need to as its much easier to hold a sight picture and like other have said it gives you better spacial awareness. Funny enough in cold war she has both eyes open holding a sniper and normally you would have one eye closed to focus better with a larger scope. So MW2 was actually right and cold war was still wrong/worse.
in cold war the character is LOOKING AROUND WHILE AIMING DOWN SIGHTS. its almost like the devs doesn't want modern warfare to get dethroned and i respect that.
