Hi Is it possible to make a video showing how to update Marlin in the T3.

      I don't have the T3 anymore. Sorry.

I appreciate your video. You have hit the nail on the head for some substandard components (nozzle). Upon changing this out, it appears to be printing well at speed.
The other major gotcha for me, was the LED holder in the hot end. It was two low and wacking the part and either having serious layer shift, or having the part break loose from the bed. And as well as the printer surface holds the part, that is saying something! I removed the plastic holder and let the LED hang on it's own.
Again, thanks for your thourough review and troubleshooting. I agree with you, not the best first printer for someone.

I think it’s fine for what it is…people should just have realistic expectations when buying a machine at this price. Especially if someone doesn't want to get their hands dirty with a bit of troubleshooting.

@Mister Dude A LOT has changed in the past 6 months since this review. I wouldn't recommend this machine at 250 when printers like the SV06 are at the same price. 135, that’s a lot more reasonable.

Would not recommend for a starter printer. Your review was spot on I had the same problems with the machine. Agreed it was one of the easiest printers to level.

had problems with my first one was given a replacement but had to send that back as the thing would not keep the z offset so now getting a voxlab and the giant zip ties are for when you want to box it away so to stop it from moving

yeah a discord reaction type video would be a neat idea here and there.

Great review I am thinking of getting one for my grandson . One thing , have you tried printing flexibles on this one ie TPE TPU . I have a Dremel 3d45 and its not the best for those types of filaments and was thinking of getting one just for flex .

    • @3DPrintSOS
      @3DPrintSOS  Год назад +1

I wouldn’t recommend this machine for flexibles. you’d want something with a direct drive for that. :)

Would this printer at double speed {maybe 100 to 150mm/sec.} be ok for printing RC airplanes?

With some tuning yet. Stock, as you saw in the video, I wouldn’t push it that fast.

Hi so the material doesn’t seem to stay or some of it gets lifted and gets caught by the machine. I’m wondering if I should increase bed temps? Already at 60f

Ender 7 has a fan for the extruder to keep the pla from going to soft. Or at least for the ender. I wish for there speeds rails on the important axis were used.

A direct drive all metal hot end would have been a great improvement. I realize it's a cheap printer but that wouldn't have added much to the cost.

    • @MisterkeTube
      @MisterkeTube 2 года назад +2

Fully agree. Best upgrades ever on my Ender 3: 1) cheap all-metal (not even bi-metal) heat-break replacing the PTFE-to-the-nozzle one, 2) metal extruder and 3) 3d-printed mount (Direct Drivinator) moving that extruder on top of the hot-end, turning the Ender 3 into a direct-drive. Total cost around $10 and I still consider those the best bang-for-the-buck of everything I have upgraded over the past years.

  • @MisterkeTube

This is just an Ender 3 clone with the typical basic enhancements (probe, belt tensioners, metal extruder, filament sensor and probably silent steppers?). It has PTFE all the way to the nozzle, a big negative point it shares with most other Ender 3 clones. What looks like a pretty normal Marlin build apart from the FAST setting. I guess that FAST mode is just using higher feedrates and acceleration in Marlin (possibly even not changing the acceleration and just putting the speed to 200%, which you can do also on standard Marlin in the tuning menu during the print). And since they are using Marlin, they legally have to release their firmware source code changes, so you should then be able to check what exactly FAST mode does. Leaves 1 special thing: the filament sensor. Here I would have expected you to take this thing apart to see how it works. I would assume a simple idler pressed against the filament with a sliced wheel attached to it and passing through an opto-interrupter. Nice, but nothing ground-breaking. So I guess "price" for the offered Ender 3 enhancements is the main selling point for this printer ...

Yep. That’s pretty much it. Just gotta know exactly what this printer is and not accidentally believe it’s something high end.

I got one for 50% off, should have return it but got busy. Would recommend that you spend money on other printer, has some updates on it but in my opinion they used a sorry display sorry flex bed. On a side note they did so many thing right than drop the ball. If you can get it for 50% off it’s a ok buy. Other don’ t waste your money.

Hi Fedor, I just managed to afford my 1st resin printer due to the Black Friday Sales going on now.
I ordered the Amazing Elegoo Saturn 2 resin ( 8k ) Printer and it turned out to cost way less direct from Elegoo.
The cost on Amazon UK & Ebay UK was high still even with Black Friday sales. ( around £560 )
But on Elegoo site they got 6% off already so it was $550 But the sale got another $50 off too.
So with the exchange rate here in the UK, It costing me £438.00p all that for a 8K printer. the email told me they be shipping it from the UK warehouse from 1st December 2022.
I ordered the mats and face mask and tools just need to get some resin later as it is pricey over here for it I wish to have the newer water washable version since IPA is also pricey
and any cleaning unit would need allot of it. I hope to get the Elegoo wash & cure station units soon too.
I will look forward to this printer, I re-setting out the work top areas so the 4 FDM printers I got be on one side the Resin be on the other side. 😉

You don't need IPA, I use methylated spirits which you may call denatured Alcohol and is much cheaper.

Any Chance you could get and build and test the "ANYCUBIC Chiron FDM 3D Printer Auto-Leveling Large Build Volume: 400 x 400 x 450 mm"
Although it seems to be a 3 year old printer, it is super big but not a core xy machine a bed slinger. Far bigger than any I've seen build like that? Also the price is amazing too.

I sell 3D printers and I can't keep up with the reviews. Geeetech has brought out the Thunder that claims 300mm/s. I guess we will see 350 mm/s next month. Actually the Thunder would be worth a look because it is not budget and has actually implemented changes to help it print fast. It has X-axis and Y-axis are equipped with closed-loop drive - I have not seen that used elsewhere, have you?

Is that some sort of copper slug in the original nozzle? Like CHT clone nozzle but only with single bore 😅
How do they expect to get 100+ mm/s print speed out of PTFE-lined Creality-style hotend? With volcano heat block and all/bi-metal heatbreak I could believe it (running one, well, bent Slice Engineering heatbreak, but going to straighten and re-install it 🤫) but stock up to 250 mm/s -

If its anyting like my s9+ its aa pile of shit . I ended up putting a manta 4p in mine , leaving the old board in to keep the drier , and using klipper firm ware . It still prints like shit but its a LOT better than it was . I`m in the process of changing all the motors , hotend , syncing the crappy dual z they put on it and basically rebuilding it . its AWFUL so , unless you are prepaired to rebuild it . DONT BUY A SUNLU PRINTER THEY SUCK !
