But since the new movies are the future now, people have gone back and learned to love and respect the creative world of the prequels. TLJ didn’t have the same disappointment as prequels though, sure people hated it, but it wasn’t so much in a disappointing way, there’s so much SW material nowadays that it’s kind of impossible to have that same level of disappointment TPM had.

I don't think so, when you look at the entire movie in context. As Linus indicated near the end of the film, it was never really about 'The Phantom Menace'; The whole trip was a journey of self- discovery for them, and they each achieved great things in their own way because of it: Linus learned to make the most of the time he had left and was able to die in peace. Eric reconciled with his old friends, AND successfully pursued his true calling in life. Hutch learned to take his own life more seriously and made something of himself. Windows and Zoe found true love with each other. Even if they dislike the movie, it can't take away from the adventure they had and how they all changed for the better as a result of it.

Honeymoon period is notorious for movies because when a film is hyped up before release a lot of people go in and out of the movie loving it and won't realize the faults until after it cools down.

+Anakin Skywalker The only reason it was slow was because they were trying to return The audience to a familiar Star Wars universe which unfortunately was a necessity due to the damage that George Lucas left behind in the prequel's now with the sequels coming up we can finally get things moving by introducing new elements to the story
+Howyaduing agreed, Lucas went for style over substance in the Prequel trilogy. Too much CGI. Also Finn and Rey both follow the start of the Hero's Journey like Luke before them. Star Wars suppose follow a cyclical pattern: Light raises Dark raises Light and Dark battles Light defeats Dark Dark goes into hiding Light dominates the Galaxy Dark returns Light and Dark battle Dark defeats Light Light goes into hiding Dark dominates the Galaxy Light returns and cycle continues.
Easily the worst "joke" in an otherwise really funny movie. I don't understand why it's in there in begin with. Kyle Newman (the director) is one the biggest fans and defenders of the Prequel Trilogy. He even says in the commentary after the joke is said in the end "Thankfully it (The Phantom Menace) did not, and it's one of the best Star wars movies ever made (something like that). Kyle loves TPM so why would he put in a terrible joke like that?
Never again in cinematic history would there be such anticipation leading to such bewildering confusion and disappointment.
