      Please don't congratulate Kerala Govt..They where the worst.
      Current ruling party is CPM (Aka. Communist Party). They didn't even help anyone and the Chief Minister and other ministers escaped the state to foreign countries with their families.
      Only people of Kerala "STOOD TOGETHER AND HELPED EACH OTHER TO OVERCOME THIS NATURAL CALAMITY." MANY LOTS LIFE, STILL KERALA RULING GOVT DIDNT CARE.

    People of Kerala stood by the government. Government showed unparalleled resilience. Under the guidance of the government people of Kerala fought back the calamity. The full hearted cooperation with the government helped government to fight back. One of the biggest decission was to seek the help of fisherman . They readly agreed to help . Hundreds of boats was transported to the effected places. District administration coordinated it.
    They are real heroes in the rescue operations......
    People cooperated with each other and government without showing any religious, caste or other differences, that is also a great contributor to the success....

    • @Adi-nd4bp
      @Adi-nd4bp 9 месяцев назад

      @@CJ-ud8nf all govts till now of kerala are weak(some are good some have been bad),they just can't fight tamil nadu leaders to decommssion the 125 mullaperiyar dam ( a dam last max 80 years).This is just made on some limestone mixture .just think.Only god is holding the dam together now.We know how the tamil leaders have manipulated the common ppl to believe that kerala doesnt give them water.let those fools burn in hell.
      THEY STILL HAVE NO THINKING THAT THE MULLA RIVER (means jasmine river in malayalam) WHICH ORIGINATED IN KERALA AND WAS SUPPOSED TO FLOW INTO KERALA DOESNT FLOW HERE.Still we freely provide water to them and even the electrcity from it. WE GET NO ELECTRICITY FROM THAT WATER.The mulla river is stopped at the beginning of it course and the water of the entire river is reversed back to its source and then to the vaigai dam in tamil nadu.kerala Govt get a mere 6 lakh rupees as rent.thats it.and majority of that goes to feed the tummies of the old politicians.
      .
      .If the dam breaks , the entire central kerala is gone.just gone.It is the most populated region in kerala.nothing hppns to tamil nadu.Those ppl of tamil nadu even prayed for more rain, even during our floods so that our dams get filled and they get water and electrcity.Even religious leaders (yes all religions) showed up for this nonsense and did rituals and prayers.
      and what is even more sad is that the mulla river wasnt just water .It was nutrients.Since the river rose from the sahydris it carried natural fertilizers along the way.That river formed thousands of braches of streams lakes on its lower course and provided nutrients to the other rivers as well.And then the british in 1895 opened this dam.we lost acres of forested land and tonnes of raw materials and precious minerals and stones from those forests which were sent back to england.WE LOST OUR RIVER.BUT WE DONT COMPLAIN. STILL, TAMIL NADU HAS NO SHAME IN CRITICISING US FOR THIS MATTER.
      Earlier mullaperiyar river used to flow.today only the periyar river flows.the "mulla" part is long gone.But nature strikes back too.I would nt be surprised if the dam breaks.bcz that water was supposed to flow here.If it breaks all this water from a height of 890m will strike the arabian sea which will trigger tsunamis all across the south western coast of India .And that will destroy the gods own country.

    We will never forget those days and also the central govts' 'sothely ma' kind of attitude towards Kerala at a time of extreme emergency due to petty politics. Not only did center not give relief aid, but they also refused to receive relief funds offered by countries like Dubai due to long friend ship and historical connections. Dubai offered 100 million as an emergency fund even without asking for help to rebuild the house, road and bridge that had been washed away. At the same time, when a tragedy happened in Gujarat, they not only allowed funds flowing in but also begged whole world like panhandlers. Every supply received during the flood was double billed like the price of ration rice, bill for helicopters, medicine and everything.

    I was actively involved in the rescue and rehabilitation during the flood as a doctor in government service.
    In all honesty, the flood and CoVID were the reason why I quit my job and left India. Politicians put the onus of everything on a few government employees while providing absolutely no infrastructure to work properly. We were completely inept in dealing with such crises, yet we were told to work with minimal facilities. Both the centre and state are equally bad in this regard. It's all thanks to the sheer physical efforts of health workers, and doctors that we were able to treat people during these emergencies. Even today I'm told that we don't have enough medical supplies even in medical colleges. People like KK Shailaja, Veena George, go about showing off without doing their jobs properly while honest healthcare professionals work their behinds off trying to save lives with the bare minimum facilities we have in government hospitals.
    The fisherfolk, general public, random youths and many NGO saved far more lives during the floods than the states forces and national disaster management teams. Politicians from state and centre spent more time trying to blame each other in the name of funds than actually helping people.

      You point is well taken. However, please don't forget to consider patient medical/health practitioner ratio while you compare the country you would be working. Besides, if you are working in a country with hourly wages, then you'll have more benefits. Kerala's population density is huge. And government has to juggle with less funds. Still Kerala is a better off state compared to other states where the dead child has to be carried on parent's shoulders to the kilometres away graveyard. Thank you for your services during bad times🙏

      @Muthumalai_Tiger_Reserve_Aana 9 месяцев назад +1

      @@Allwelfare absolute nonsense. Kerala has enough and more funds to invest in Healthcare, but we don't. Rather we spend more on "awareness programmes". Do you even know the budget for health is divided. Seriously if you don't know anything that happens in the health department, better keep your mouth shut. And "better than the rest" isn't an achievement when we were already "ahead of the rest" right from 1947. We had a literacy rate of 49% in 1947, while the national average was 22%. Our life expectancy in 1947 was 150% higher than the national average. That last big medical college in Kerala was built in 1962- Kottayam medical college. Alappuzha medical college wasn't built by the government, it was taken over from the TD temple trust by the government in 1969. Thrissur medical college which commenced operations in 81 still doesn't have enough facilities compared to hospitals that are quarter their age in the private sector.
      I was a student of Trivandrum medical college. Literally every single ventilator we used back then during our OBG house surgeoncy is still being used in TMC. Most of them don't even work properly. There weren't fibrillators there for emergency.
      People like you have no idea of what you are talking about. You take comfort in saying "we are better than the rest", when in reality it's purely due to corruption that our hospitals are in such dilapidated conditions. The government doesn't appoint enough doctors or nurses or lab staff through PSC, but then they gladly appoint temporary nursing and lab staff and then make them permanent through certain schemes. They are given most benefits as PSC appointees. Why?? Surely it's not because they don't have money!!! They the money, but they make these appointments because it lets them give away jobs to their own people. Purchase orders are always given certain vendors no matter how expensive their quotations are why??? When they purchased 20 laptops for teachers, they approved a quotation that cost twice the money as the market price citing "trustworthy vendor", when other vendors quoted much lower. Don't try to teach me things you don't even know about. Grow up.
      Stop living like a slave to political parties and religions.. and then may be you'll understand what I'm saying..

    Yes indeed, agala megaflood kab ayega? This question mark remains and it is relevant. This inquest documentary must be brought to schools and other public or private institutions because this is a caution, a warning for both current and future generations.
    The unscrupulous/unbothered sand mining, stone blasting and mining, and deforestation would result, in severe floods and droughts. It is inevitable.
    The unsustainable and uncontrolled real estate development will result in a great ecological disaster.
    Reflection: is it better to spend public money to rehabilitate the ecological disaster-affected population or better to take preventive measures?
