    Thanks for playing Hurm. I knew the video was borderline but within reason for you. I had to redeem Halloween for you. Helloween is considered the fathers of Power Metal Helloween has three singers and two were former singers that came back to the band in 2016. Historically, the first singer in the band was Kai Hansen, the one playing guitar and singing in parts and this song was made during the time he was the singer. The second singer in the band was Michael Kiske, the bald guy, and then came Andi Deris, the guy with the long hair. You mentioned vocal ranges of the singers, I'm pretty sure that it's Michael Kiske that actually has a higher upper range than Andi Deris does. During the end of the song when they are all singing the high register you hear is Michael Kiske's. I'll find another Helloween song to do in the future. Glad you liked it.

    Helloween is an OG metal band. The origins for Helloween started in the late 70s and went by a few different names in the early 80s, then in 1984 they finally settled on the name Helloween. Helloween coined the term "Power Metal" with 2 of the greatest metal releases of all time called "The Keeper Of The Seven Keys" Part 1 and Part 2 in the late 80s. You can never check out enough Helloween with over 16 full length. My personal favorite is their 1st album "Walls Of Jericho" witch features the song How Many Tears

    That song was originally a beautiful power ballad called Sea Of Fears that the guitarist Michael Weikath wrote around 1982-1983 with his band SAS

    God, I hope you’d play Keeper of the Seven Keys live (video by anteres5) it’s so magical.
    Cool that you related Halloween to Iron Maiden because one of their nicknames is The German Iron Maiden!

    I remember owning their album Wall of Jericho when I was a teenager soon after I bought Iron Maiden's Somewhere In Time Album in 1988. Great job Hurm.

    Jesus, these singers are still slaying it, what a range and sounds so good, intricate harmonies, ripping guitars. Quite incredible musicianship. Did I love the song no, but live makes all the difference.

    Thank you, Hurm. If you do Keeper of the Seven Keys live from the first Pumpkins United tour you WILL be blown away. If this song is say, an 8, Keeper is a 20.

    Kai Hansen (guitar) was Helloween's original singer... he has a raspy voice that was featured on the first Helloween album 'Walls of Jericho' (1985) and the 'Helloween' EP (1984)... Going into 1987, he wanted Helloween to get a frontman so that he could play guitar more, so Michael Kiske (vocals) joined and Helloween broke big w/ 2 'Keeper of the Seven Keys' albums... Kiske (the bald singer) has a higher vocal range, comparable to Bruce Dickinson of Iron Maiden... In 1990, Kai Hansen quit Helloween and formed his own band Gamma Ray w/ singer Ralph Scheepers... After 3 albums, Scheepers stepped down by 1994, so Kai Hansen did lead vocals for Gamma Ray for their career.
    Meanwhile, Helloween without Kai Hansen's songwriting went awry and after 2 experimental albums, singer Michael Kiske was fired in 1993... Andi Deris (vocals) joined Helloween in 1994 and brought them back to a traditional power metal sound, but Deris' vocals were closer to Kai Hansen's raspy delivery ... Michael Kiske released new solo music, but stepped away from heavy metal.
    Years later, Kai Hansen and Michael Kiske would team up to record new music as the hard rock band Unisonic... Helloween and Gamma Ray would also tour together and Hansen would often join Helloween on stage.
    The 'Pumpkins united' single in 2017 marked the reunion of Helloween w/ both Kai Hansen and Michael Kiske... Andi Deris (vocals) remarked that it was a relief to have Kiske onstage and not have to sing his demanding vocal parts 😂 What was also extraordinary was that Deris and Kiske became best friends even outside the band! (They had never met, despite fronting Helloween at different times).
    The 7-member Helloween released their self-titled album in 2021 w/ all 3 vocalists contributing vocals... but Deris did say that Kiske did not write songs for the album; he was more than happy to sing the songs that were written for him.

    Keeper of the 7 Keys or Halloween (United Alive performances) would be a great choice.

    Walls Of Jericho, Keeper Of The Seven Keys Part 1 & 2, Master Of The Rings, Time Of The Oath, pick any song from those and you can't go wrong. The Dark Ride is also very good album, a bit darker for Helloweens standards.

    • @zoltandemeter919
      @zoltandemeter919 Год назад +1

      Dark Ride is spectacular! It was a big stepforward for Helloween after an even really strong Better than raw album. It's a pity, that they'd recoiled a little bit from that direction.

    The Bald Guy goes MUCH higher on Keeper of the Seven Keys. It made him a legend, and he sounds the same in 2018 as he did on the album from 1988. He’s quite the wonder, Herr Kiske.

    First guy (Andi Deris) is boss of other two guys (second being original singer Kai Hansen and third one being Michael Kiske- the most talented and their best singer) . For me Andi Deris will always be a joke in a Helloween (despite having some good songs, for me he will always be an outsider, forced himself into band (tho' he neved did any such thing). Michael will always be the best singer of Helloween and Kai Hansen always second best (first , if Kiske never existed)).
    A good word for Deris. He was Pink Cream 69.

  • @FasTaker3
    @FasTaker3 Год назад

    the bald guy (kiske) has much higher range than most of metal singers and surely higher than deris. He possesses an almost 4 octave vocal range, as he is capable of reaching extremely high notes (A5) and low baritone notes (E2) as well. i think his singing style and range to that of Geoff Tate or a young Bruce Dickinson,

    Helloween is a highly underrated band, Michael Kiske (the bald dude) sounds just as amazing vocally as he did in the 80s…it’s crazy! When Bruce left I was hoping that Maiden would’ve hired him, I think he would’ve fit better than blaze and they wouldn’t have had that mid 90s slump they had. You really need to check out Keeper of the seven keys my man! They take you on a musical journey that only the aforementioned Maiden could do! It’s epic!

    The only Helloween album I'd avoid is Chameleon. I think it was an album to fulfil a contract and I'm not sure they were taking it seriously. Example song title for it is "Heavy Metal Hamsters"

    I prefer the original actually cause it sounds way beter vocally imo, mixing it up with 3 vocalists is a bit much in the chorus.. But what an epic song.
