Must admit, I tried them several times and I like them ! maybe if you put them on a bun, as intended, with lettuce, tomato and some relish etc, you may not notice so much. I have a pal whi is a BIG meat eater and he was here one day, asked if he fancied a burger and made him one.. not telling him what they were. he devoured it and I asked if he would like another, he did.. ! It was only later I told him what the 'burgers' were. PS.. I am not joking, I do like them. Have you tried the brussell sprouts ketchup yet ?
Yes not for me. I didn't like the taste of them. Didn't sit well with me. I tried to like them. Not yet. Thank you for sending me it. I will try it in a video coming up. All the best 😋👍👍👍
I went vegetarian for a few years a while back and I used to really enjoy these and the sausages from this brand! Can't say I ever tried the burger by itself though. Always had it in a bun with salad, cheese and sauce. Few other people have said it but I always found spicy bean burgers to be the best out of the meat free burger options.
Sorry for laughter when you about gaged after you had tasted the first bite of the veggie burger, I could help myself, 😆. Hope you and your family had a good day yesterday (Christmas Day), and all the best for 2022.
Really enjoy your reviews, as I shop at Iceland, it’s great to have you testing some of the stuff I’m tempted to try, although the wife and I do laugh when you try stuff that’s horrible! Great channel mate, let’s hope the channel grows.
I love your videos -Especially the Yuk reactions. My partner was a veggie, We made Linda mc sausage and mash for my mum-She said it was the most awful thing she had tasted. Other veggie foods are lovely - Cauliflower cheese grills, Curry burger melts .
Hi Gareth x I'm a vegetarian and I actually do like these burgers. They don't taste like meat, but I don't want them to. Her sausages are ok, but the pies are awful. I think as a meat eater you'll probably struggle to find a vegetarian alternative that you like. I don't want something to taste like meat so these are fine. You'll probably be ok with things like bean burgers, or Birds Eye vegetable burgers as they're not replicating meat but are vegetarian. I went to Marks on Xmas eve and bought the vegetable tikka after you recommended it, so can't wait to try that x Hope you and the lovely family had a great Xmas xxx
Cheers Emma what a lovely comment. Yes maybe my mindset is all wrong. I'm thinking they should taste of meat when of course they shouldn't or should they. You explained it very well. I see what you mean. I will be honest though that taste really isn't for me. Like Matt said on here a vegetarian telling a meat eater to eat vegatarian burgers is a big misconception. Thank you Emma. All the best 🍔😋😍
Im guessing some people still want the meat taste and texture, but that's not for me. I bought Linda McCartney pulled pork the once. I've never ever tried real pulled pork, but this separated just like the real thing, and I couldn't eat it 🤣 I was convinced it was meat! I bought Richmond veggie sausages, and they looked just like real sausages, sizzled like real ones and even appeared to have a skin! I had to get my ex to try one as i thought I'd bought the wrong thing! Safe to say his face said they were definitely vegetarian 🤣 I buy them all the time now and love them, but have no clue if they're like real sausages as I haven't eaten meat for nearly 30yrs!
Thats such a true comment, bean and proper veggie burgers are lovely, clearly he doesn't like Soya like most people and thats what they use to replicate meat. Like you say he should try Bean and proper veggie burger.
We've cooked a few types of veggie burgers on the bbq before and our dogs wouldn't even eat them.. says it all really! I also tried making my own from soya/bean protein once. The texture of that stuff when mixing it together was revolting, it felt just like lard and I had to add loads of herbs and spices to get any flavour!! Keep up the good work Gareth :)
Loving your channel mate 👍 I've tried those burgers and they are horrible but try the No Bull Quarter Pounder from Iceland and you'll be surprised how good they are. Keep up the good work.
@@BaldFoodieGuy no problem 👍🏼 I’m not even a veggie but I enjoy them 😁 they definitely aren’t dry that’s for sure 👌🏼I’ve only cooked them in the oven but I can’t imagine they’d be any different in the other ways.

Gareth you are so funny doing honest testing just by your face tells us, you are such a jolly man cheering us all up got to say I'm not testing but looked rubbery, ♥️😂😂🤣
These aren’t my favourite either but they’re definitely best in the frying pan, I think putting them in an air fryer would dry them out and most vegan/vegetarian food is best pan fried or in the oven with a splash of oil. You should try Richmond meat free or Beyond Burger but definitely put them in the frying pan! Also you should try Quorn Nuggets they’re lovely. I agree with the people saying to avoid quorn mince as the recipe changed and it’s all weird now. There’s plenty of veggie stuff out there that isn’t made from fake meat as well such as Roots burgers (the edamame ones are amazing!).

Hi Gareth, you seem to have the same relationship with vegetarian meat substitute products as me! Some years ago I once ate a Linda McCartney minced beef pie (not sure if they are still on offer) pretty disgusting to eat and I had indigestion for nearly a week! I find the vegetarian vegetable options like spicy bean burgers and cauliflower cheese quarter pounders etc are normally quite tasty. Avoid the Quorn mince, it tastes of what you spice it with, but the texture is a tad gelatinous. It also seems to increase in volume four fold as it passes through ones digestive tract. You need to try Beyond Meat Plant Burgers which uses Pea & Rice protein (no soya). They are the closest to the taste of real meat burgers, if not better tasting than some of the cheaper burgers out there. When i had gallbladder stones (before i had an op to remove it) i found that fatty foods caused me stomach pains, so these veggie options really helped. Also great for lowering cholesterol, however whether these meat alternatives are healthier overall due to added flavourings, emulsifiers & other chemicals is up for debate.
Have you ever tried the Quorn sausages? My brother was vegetarian and that's all we had in at one time. I honestly found them quite nice, not winding you up. I would buy them from time to time for a change. Thanks for this review, I guess I will give these burgers a miss. Hope Santa brought you all lots of goodies :)
Poor Linda, bless her. Was it the texture or the taste/flavour you didn't like ? I tried Quorn burgers years ago (around the time they first came out) and from what I remember, they were like a proper burger and very convincing and the sausages weren't bad either. Not sure if they are like that nowadays. I once tried Linda's sausages and they were like mush. Sorry Linda.
I thought these was alright , brought 10 packs when saw them on offer for 1.25£ , and after about 3 packs started going off them , probably won’t even buy again or for a long time . Still got a pack left. They are better in a bun with red onion tomato lettuce mayo , like a whopper , better than eating them plain but tbf I gone off them myself

Also great for lowering cholesterol, however whether these meat alternatives are healthier overall due to added flavourings, emulsifiers & other chemicals is up for debate.
Cheers Natty
Have you ever tried the Quorn sausages?
My brother was vegetarian and that's all we had in at one time.
I honestly found them quite nice, not winding you up.
I would buy them from time to time for a change.
Thanks for this review, I guess I will give these burgers a miss.
Hope Santa brought you all lots of goodies :)
I've not had them 👍👍
@@BaldFoodieGuy Don't do it ....... you'll regret it. Same applies to Quorn Mince and making a Chilli Con Carne (for example)
Cheers

So funny. Thanks for that made me lol 😂 xx
Haha cheers
Poor Linda, bless her.
Was it the texture or the taste/flavour you didn't like ?
I tried Quorn burgers years ago (around the time they first came out) and from what I remember, they were like a proper burger and very convincing and the sausages weren't bad either.
Not sure if they are like that nowadays.
I once tried Linda's sausages and they were like mush.
Sorry Linda.
Hi Gareth you're reaction was as always
Priceless! I would stick to the meat ones
If I was you. Thanks for posting.
Cheers Barbara all the best 👌👌
It's a case of "somebody's got to do it!" Spot on reaction!
Haha yes
I thought these was alright , brought 10 packs when saw them on offer for 1.25£ , and after about 3 packs started going off them , probably won’t even buy again or for a long time . Still got a pack left. They are better in a bun with red onion tomato lettuce mayo , like a whopper , better than eating them plain but tbf I gone off them myself
Yes not for me these. We all different taste don't we. 👌
🤣🤣🤣 I laughed so hard, my stomach hurt! Your expression and sound effects said it all. Nope …, I’ll not be trying anything that is trying to imitate meat. Who are they kidding! Brilliant review, keep up the good work. Pauline from Sheffield UK
Glad you liked it
I like these with a bit of sauce on.
Hey there absolutely brilliant wet myself laughing more of these videos please 😂😂😂😂
Haha yes cheers
@@BaldFoodieGuy 💕💕😁😁
Been having these for years. A nice bun slice of cheese and Heinz saucy sauce tomato and lettuce. They are amazing I love them 😍
That was so funny lol such a brave man , we went through a phase trying all that shite years ago ,never again lol
Cheers Lee 👍👍👍
I like the Linda mc cartneys motzarella burgers. They seem nice for veggie burgers. I think it's a matter of personal taste
Yes I agree
Happy holidays and a merry X-mas mister G!
Cheers, same to you mate 👍👍👍
hahaha! i would love to see you do a meat free week. i was veggy for years and found soya and tofu revolting. there is some really nice stuff out there though x
I don't think I could do it lol 😋😋🍻😘
Oh I nearly cried laughing, don’t blame you not doing any more, any chance you can do a branded decaf teabag comparison, I commented before on how nice your cuppa looked, let’s see those brewing skills put to the test
Cheers Ken. Yes I drink de caf Yorkshire tea at night, it's lovely 👍👍😋
Happy Boxing Day Everyone!
And to you too DJ... 👍
All the best both 👌👌
