    I really like that little tip about having your toes on the mat rather than having your instep flat on the mat. It's the same as grappling on the knees the toes being active will give you base an strength. Will definitely make use of that.

      Should never have your feet flat when rolling or grappling from knees incase they push you back too fast and you end up bending the wrong sort of way... it's hard to describe but lying back onto your feet when they are flat and then having someone driving into you can fuck up your legs in all sorts of ways. If you're on the ball of your feet though you just sink backwards into the sole of your foot and can fall onto your back much easier without trapping your own legs underneath you...
