Thank you so much for these free videos, Jess--what a gift! I woke up one morning about a year ago with a sudden desire to learn how to play the old hammered dulcimer a parishioner made for my father. It's such a beautiful instrument, but I was worried I'd have trouble finding teaching resources. These videos are so clear and I appreciate how you build us up through exercises over time. I also bought your book, which is another helpful resource. I appreciate all you do to keep this tradition alive and accessible. God bless you!

I want to thank you I got a dulcimer and all the teaching videos have been tough for a beginner with no music experience. Your teaching videos make so much sense and I have hope again that I can learn to play this lovely instrument. Thank you

I’m going to suggest these videos to my sister. She recently purchased one and I think is feeling a little overwhelmed. I told her it still seems easier than my violin!

This really helped me figure these boxes-I was having trouble finding all the scales and wondered how anyone found them. Thank you for helping us beginners become better beginners!

Thanks Pete. I knew after all these years and 50,000 views of my FREE videos, someone would finally notice and make a negative comment.

Is this standard or Michigan tuning? I'm considering purchasing a dulcimer, and for now am playing along with a dulcimer app. Love the videos. They go a long way to simplifying what at first glance is a very confusing instrument. Thanks.

I'm a 57 yr old retired Marine who's considering purchasing a Dulcimer. Would you be so kind as to suggest what Dulcimer best suited for a beginner to learn? I think learning music will keep my mind sharp!
