By far one of if not the best substrates for reef aquariums. Been using reef flakes for years and love it!

Came over from r2r. Love finding new reefing channels. Looking for sand for my new 120g tank I’m upgrading to from my 30g tank and this video definitely helped.

Just took delivery of some from PA yesterday. This is the only stuff I use now. The grain size of Reefflakes is just big enough to not get blown around in my SPS tanks. Gobies and pistol shrimp also dig it. Great video!!

I'm really impressed with the wide selection of grain sizes.i think 5.5 mixed with the tonga special pink would be an awesome mix. as you spread it out I see very little dust
Something worthy of a try. I always use a slightly larger and want to move into the Fine Grade sand look but maybe 1 up from there. Now to decide which on Tonga Special Pink .8mm -OR
Miniflakes - 2.0mm:
I really like the look of the black live sand but don't like that I can't get a sandsifting goby! Yellow watchman might look awesome against it, though. Keep these coming (your other channel, too)! I'm building my first tank in several years and your content gives me the confidence and motivation to keep at it!
I may give this a try. I have used Caribsea Special Grade in the past. I have on order an additional tank ...150g that will be shipped soon.

Hey Curtis! 3mm and under works well for sand sifting Gobies.
Are Tropic Eden Reef Flakes discontinued? It seems like they’ve been out of stock for a while.

Which is the biggest that a goby or other sand sifters can use?
Hi Anthony! Anything under 3mm should work fine but keeping it under 2mm is best.
