I'm new to fishing and the more I fish and explore waters and learn fish behaviors, there's this indescribable feeling I get when it's just me and the water. There is no level of technology that can make me appreciate fishing the way I do right now. 🎣

Thats the best approach! From my experience with FFS it can be very fun watching fish react in realtime, how ever. I've ruined the day throwing all. my eggs in the FFS basket and not just soaking up the day, the weather, being with friends and ultimately just having fun chasing fish the old fashioned way. I'm pretty neutral on the whole on the whole argument but i would much rather go flip cypress trees with a frog and jig all day than chase fish deep

I’d just like to say I really enjoyed ur show today. It was extremely interesting and very informative, and you are right in my opinion, fishing is about disconnecting from life for a little bit and getting back to why we fish. To relax, chill or what ever u wanna say, and catching that double digit just puts the icing on the cake, but even more than that, developing your own skills in fishing and knowing what to look for and where to find the fish, makes it even more rewarding because you did it on your own skill and will.

When I go fishing with my buddie and try to use his love scope it stresses me out seeing the fish look at my bait and not hit it, but then I have to take a deep breath and go back to the back of the boat and just enjoy the moment of catching the fish and remembering why I fish.
Definitely enjoyed this one and I agree with your analogy at the end. As technology advances furthur, we will get farther from the real reason we fished in the first place. Therefore, I believe many will backtrack and get back to our roots

Literally was talking about using a metaquest to go fishing and play a fishing game while fishing today with my fishing partner and then jon post this. Great minds
One thing this reminds me of is when I started out fishing. I used to go to shallow creeks where I could watch the sunfish come after my lure. I learned a lot quickly by bejng able to see them. So that's one application - learning more about how deep fish react to different lures and techniques. Not to mention avoiding bottom obstacles and leaving fewer lures and line on the bottom. That said, I agree that fishing is about being outside in nature first, and I feel like this tech spoils it to an extent.
There goes all the fun of fishing. Damn this is definitely going to get outta hand. No more skill involved just put this on and you're winning tournaments left and right 😅

Maybe but I know for a fact that I won't use it. I'm not opposed to livescope, and I have it, but this is another level. I can only imagine how many older guys will make fun of people using this.
When I first saw livescope years ago I said that it would just be a matter of time before we had sunglasses with projections of the scope or even worse, 360 view that effectively makes it like we're just seeing directly through the water.

Technologies like dragging a net behind your boat are also extremely effective. You can also use dynamite like Crocodile Dundee. But as you pointed out at the end of the video, it goes opposite to the reason fishing is truly amazing and it should be left as a natural mystery to solve and enjoy.

Randy Blaukat doesn't deny that the technology is cool and has its purpose, and I agree and appreciate it's pretty cool and insane. All he's advocating for is that "PROFESSIONAL" "Anglers" should not be allowed to use this kind of technology to "Catch" fish".
To a great degree, this is like hunting for wildebeest from a chopper, so therefore Randy is 100% correct when he says this technology needs to be outlawed for Professional Competition. The sport is FISHING, not Video Gaming on a a boat. This essentially turns fishing into catching and removes the purity and skill of knowing how to read nature in order to catch what you're after.
What's happened is that companies are utilizing Pro Anglers and Influencers to sell insanely overpriced equipment to make a massive chunk of change in a single transaction as opposed to making that same amount of money by selling hundreds, if not thousands of lures and tackle in order to make the same kind of profit, by taking the challenge and grind that is fishing.
