The blastoise was also being hit in the stomach which could explain his exaggerated features. Another fun fact that may not have been available at the time of posting is that blastoise was not the original final form of squirtle!
Great video!! I also wanted to add that although Ash's Squirtle doesn't appear in that group picture from the Pokemon BW series. It does appear in one of the openings during the Decelore Islands arc along with Primeape. It also makes a brief appearance in the Sun & Moon episode: Alola Kanto, along with the rest of the Squirtle Squad.
