A let down that the battle was decided on a flinch. Even a not-very-effective Water Pulse would have finished off the Greninja. The Blastoise line is overall much more solid than the Greninja one.
Blastoise would be the starter Pokémon for my Kanto team. While Greninja is good, another starter Pokémon I would choose for my Kalos team would be Chesnaught.
