At first, I removed all three and the pressure was like a fire hose and the switch no longer changed the water pattern. I put the two innermost savers back in place and left the outermost one out. I could probably power wash my deck with this now and all of the patterns work again. I'm going to add the flow control valve to bring it back down a bit. Thanks for the video, it was very helpful.
Only had to remove the first water saver, and now have plenty of water pressure. Recommend removing one at a time and trying it to achieve the pressure you like. May save from having to add the valve.
Thanks a lot for your comments. I removed the first one quite easily, and was quite satisfied with the increase in flow. I tried the next aerator with a paper clip but it was too weak to dislodge it. So I let it be.
Thank you. I had it to that part but the first plastic one didn’t seem to want to come out so I just wanted to make sure that it would in fact come out. It did so thank you. I’ve got the exact same head and it didn’t have any other back in there
Ken, thanks alot! Mine was part of a kit with shower head and controls. It had 3 also. The cheaper Moen that had 8 shower settings only had one. Reapply appreciate it!
Only remove the first x-shaped piece. The second, spring-loaded piece is for the pulsing on a few of the settings. After taking out the first one, my shower was just fine...couldn't ask for more pressure.
Did all the finish plumbing on my new build a couple years ago. My nephew is a plumber/pipe fitter. When I installed my Moen fixed shower head he asked me if I “removed the democrat” Thought that was a pretty funny take on the issue of water restrictions.
Thanks for showing me how to remove the water limiters in my Moen shower massage. Just subscribed. What is the name of that small tool that you use to get the limiters out of the shower head? Do you happen to have an Amazon link? Thanks in advance. Love the straightforward way you presented your video.
Very informative but still doesn't answer why my hand held is spraying water thru handle grip holes----tried soaking all day in wht vinegar & blew thru --- still doing it----has to be blockage somewhere.
The bathtub faucet breaks any siphon when the diverter opens and allows air in. I'd assume that the fixed head part of the shower would also allow air in the line to break any siphon happening as well.
Do NOT remove all 3. I followed these instructions and now the button on the shower head does not cycle through the options. Now the shower head is useless!
@sueburnstin4768 0 seconds ago I had a restricted water flow from my Moen shower head as well, but I troubleshooted with the shower head removed and then turned on the water after removal to see what the flow pressure was like thru the shower hose. Low and behold it also had washers that restricted the flow so then I removed the washers from the hose and turned the water on again and whoa Nelly, the water came thru at 2.5 GPM, just like the pressure valve is rated. I then screwed on the shower head again, leaving it's washer in (because it is also deeper inside and harder to remove compared to the hose washer. Problem solved, water pressure was fantastic!!!
I was so afraid I would break something removing the water savers(they put some kind of metal clip/washer over the end to keep people from doing it i think)...I just hooked it up and tried it. Turns out the water pressure is fine for what I need. And I guess I am saving on water. BTW...this is a GREAT shower head...way better than many I have had in the past. Love the Magnet and button to change streams.

Thank you so much Ken. We just installed a Moen Magnetix and the water pressure is TERRIBLE. We will give this a try.

By “first water saver“ do you mean the large one, the outermost one?
@@sgmburke Yes

Video was extremely helpful. So far I have only remove the first two restrictive. We’ll see how it goes. Thanks.
Nice. Going to this to mine. The adjustable valve is also a good idea. Going to go back to home depot and check that out
Very useful video. Thank you. Do you have the part number for the water restrictor valve you bought from Amazon?

Thanks so much. You have cleared up my shower head problem.

Do you have a link to the valve that you can control that you bought on Amazon? Or name of it?

A curved pick. You can get a set for about 7 bucks from harbor freight
They also hide these things inside the elbow that attaches to the main pipe coming out of the wall.
Thanks for the help. I’m going to try it out first then remove one at a time.
Thank you for this! Life saver!!!
Thank you very much! This was super helpful!
Thanks for sharing that information 😀
Very informative but still doesn't answer why my hand held is spraying water thru handle grip holes----tried soaking all day in wht vinegar & blew thru --- still doing it----has to be blockage somewhere.
I bought this shower head and it is like a bad Seinfeld Episode of zero water pressure. I want to get the savers out so I can get clean.
Does removing both cause siphoning?

I don't understand why you would need to install the extra valve. Couldn't you just not turn on the water all the way?
On our Moen there is no pressure control at the valve just cold to hot adjustment.
i did this (just the first one at the base) and now its so loud it hurts my ears

Why do they do this instead of allowing us to decide with our faucet handles?! Annoying
Federal law on water flow restriction
jezus...three?

I just have one on mine
