    Just bought a 2 showerhead Kohler and was about to take it back to the store. I didn't realize it was a low flow 1.75 Gpm until I tried it out. Putting low flow on a dual unit is stupid. When both heads were on there wasn't enough water pressure to drive the handheld.
    I tried your hack and the unit is fixed! Now both showerheads feel fantastic. Thank you so much for posting this!
    For those interested I purchased the Kohler Viron 3-in-1 at Home Depot. The part you need to hack is where the main unit screws into the water pipe, in other words don't mess with handheld. Another cool feature is that the handheld is Magnetic, so the handheld will stay attached to wherever I place it on the bathtub.

I waiting 5 months to move back into my renovated apartment and try out the very expensive Delta shower faucet I bought and was so disappointed in the weak flow I was getting from the shower. THANK YOU for this!! I have been in misery since this abusive government water restriction crap. I felt like I could no longer enjoy my a shower or shower efficiently. Soap doesn’t clean you, RINSING IT OFF does. So I’ve been spending over an hour miserable in the shower trying to rinse off, water ice cold by the end of my shower and still needing to rinse. 3rd new shower head I bought thinking it was the shower head that was the problem then learned about new government interference with shower heads since 2020. Figured life just sucks now. SO grateful there is a solution!! THSNK YOU again for providing this with multiple examples and really walking us through this.

We were mourning the loss of our old shower head and wondering if we were going to have to buy a different showerhead because this one just SUCKED. But no more! 2 minutes of effort and the water is flowing again! Thanks so much for this quick and easy solution. :)

    Holy guacamole … i think. I love you!!! I watched utube after utube after utube downright determined to get the flow restrictor out of my Delta rain shower head. And even bought a different showerhead when no success. Pull out the blue thingie, said the other guy, so I tried and tried and broke off all four tabs. Just pry it out, he said, and that was impossible. Turn it counterclockwise, he said, but nothing would turn. Then I finally found you, my hero, who said just remove the black rubber gasket and OMG I used a dental pick and it popped out and the rest is sheer joy … thank you thank you thank you.

    With high water pressure (my house is over 60psi) opening it fully is a bit much, but you can just cut the o-ring to expose 1 or 2 of those hopes and you’ll have twice the flow. Doesn’t take much. Thanks for the life hack!

  • @KuraMad2000
    @KuraMad2000 2 месяца назад

    thanks. I found my problem was the friggin black gasket that the screen mesh is mounted to started disintigrating. That was probably clogging up the flow restrictor AND little black bits of rubber probably made it past so some of the shower head holes are probably partially plugged now too. Removed both the restrictor and the mesh, brushed clean as much of the disintigrating black rubber from the threads as I could and screwed it back in. Works perfectly for now.

    Hey Andrew, thanks for this. 2:49 your Delta flow restrictor appears to have a dozen notches covered by the interior o-ring. When I took mine apart, it looked similar but was a white color with nine notches, and only 3 notches opened in the plastic, one at 12 o'clock and one more each at about 5 o'clock & 7 o'clock. There were only three holes and the rest is solid plastic. Not sure if it's a manufacturing defect or if it's intentional because I'm not able to find another flow regulator online that looks like the one I've just removed. Definitely helps explain why my flow has been dismal. Thanks again.

      Flow restriction INCREASES my water bill because I have to spend SO much extra time in the shower! Literally leaving your shower run double the usual amount of time, that substantially increases water bill and water use. Not rinsing off soap doesn’t save money unless you don’t mind not getting clean. And what a miserable experience.

    I wish I had known this
    Sooner. I completely demolished that whole final plastic insert and still didn’t get it out. That gasket came out really easily. Ugh.

      Why do you only remove black o ring and not the blue filter. I only remove black o ring. Left the blue valve in there. Does it make that much more of difference in water pressure????

    Our water pressure is too much. How do I make is less strong? It’s so strong it hurts when showering.

    The pressure into my house is 1800-2150kpa. That causes problems lol. Tied with this its probably a no. :P. 125ltr hot water tank definitely not doing haha.

    I think this has been nerfed. My Delta doesn't have that gasket. I am guessing that is on the inside now.
