Love seeing these when boating on the rivers of Idaho
Oh... one of my favourite birds. How wonderful to see them nesting. Great stuff Judy.
Thank you Darryl.
I love birds, but the Dipper is just an impressive creature to me❣️ simply impressive 🥰
There are lot of interesting birds, and dippers are one of them.
Wonderful video thank you
What a fascinating little bird, thanks for the video
The only song bird that can swim.
So unique.
I just identified these on my land and came here to see some video. Great info, thanks
Thanks!
I would watch an entire documentary on whatever it is anyone wanted to make a documentary on with this guy's voice.
Beautiful stuff. You got some amazing nest shots. They are truly amazing birds. I have been filming American Dippers feeding their nesting chicks salmon. I even got some underwater shots...check it out on my channel if you are interested! Cheers, Damon
Why do they constantly bounce like that?
I don't know but every dipper I've ever seen, including one in China, does it. It is like they are programed to dip.
It is thought that it might be a way to maintain visual contact in a noisy environment where calling probably wouldn't be heard.
I know that Thailand Wild is extremely knowledgeable. Dippers call at a frequency that can easily be heard over the sound of the water.
@@JudyLehmbergEpicNature Ah.... interesting. I've also seen it suggested that they bob to help avoid detection by predators, but that doesn't seem very credible. So my final theory is that they enjoy bobbing.
@@thailandwild4897 I like that.
In Yellowstone National park
That bird gives me a tick!!??
