I've seen many auto repair videos on RUclips and this has to be by far the best one I've ever seen. No lengthy pre-repair talk, clear as day recording, short and to the point. Thanks guy.
One of the best videos on RUclips! Finally a direct and straight to the point video with no talking. Especially the "Hey guys, What's up" that seems to start out 99% of videos. Great job.
Great video! I just knocked out all 4 wheels on my wife's 2010 Infiniti QX56. I needed your video to do the rear brakes, as I've never done the back before.....nothing to it! In a nutshell, assuming you're not turning your own rotors: Just pop off the 2 screws Use a screwdriver as a lever to force the caliper off - You might need to bang it a little with a rubber mallett Remove old pads Force the piston all the way down with a vice (C clamp) and using the old pad as a cushion Fit the new pads in (obvious how they go in) Slide the caliper back on....but .....here's where I got slowed down. First, the new (thicker) pads were just a little to thick to slide past the rotor, so I had to squeeze them as tight as I could with pliers. Second, mine didn't slide right back in real smooth because the caliper pins, especially the bottom one, slid inwards and was blocking the caliper. You just have to keep maneuvering the whole thing until you get it just right. It took me several minutes to finally get it on and I even needed the rubber mallet to knock it into place.
Awesome video sir! very well done, the only thing i wouldn't do is that i wouldn't lift a a fully independent rear end car by the dif since its held in place by rubber bushing not designed to hold up the entire weight, yeah when it comes to cars with a solid read axle i have no problem but not a on a fully independent rear end.
I found that to be very odd as well. I can see where it saves some time, not having jack one side, do the work, drop it down, jack up the other side, etc., but that's not a good idea, as you said. Plus, some people might think that any floor jack can handle that much weight. Not all floor jacks are made equally!
Thanks, I did my brakes on my 2014 Armada and those slide pins were rusted completely I had to hammer them out. Putting the new ones in was easy and after doing this / watching video I think it may be a good idea to pretty much always replace these as they are so cheap.
crazy Angel........ to think I have the same "craftsman" screwdriver/prybar....cause it works....no mater how many times ya used it to short solenoids.......i.e. marked/welded marks
Great video Fix It Angel! I am a new owner of a 2011 Armada. I was mostly a GM guy until now so I need all the help I can get. I'm going to replace the rear pads soon. You video is very helpful. Also, Is that the flag of Guam in the back ground? Ill be looking forward to more vids!
can you share a go to quality performance pad that actually is relatively dust free? and a suggested quality performance rotor brand industry polluted with interior parts
this is adjusting the e brake shoes that fit inside the rotor. once the rotor is replaced you should spin it and make sure there is no drag. it should be close but not touching.
Don’t think so. Calipers will only fit one way. Are you referencing the shoes? He placed the shoes in the same location and direction as the old ones. The tab sticking out on one shoe generaly goes inside, however the pads will function either way.
What? No one opens the bleeder valve, you compress the piston and force the fluid back into the master cylinder reservoir. Most folks use a tool for this, but his method seemed to work fine for those who don’t have a tool....... if you belch it out the bleeder valve, you have to add fluid back because it will be too low in the Master Cylinder.....
By 60K my Armada from living in Wisconsin looks like a molten lava of rust in this particular area. While the job looks easy enough and its a great instructional video living in the salt states really makes you seriously consider just taking it in to a good shop with a torch and the willingness to put the time and effort in just getting that first 10MM bolt loose! HAHA!

Legit as it gets.
Thank you.
This is by far the best brake job on the internet

Eat car video to date by anyone ever. You could do this full time big bucks man thank you.
Great video. Thanks for the accurate shots. Doesn't even need dialogue!
Awesome tutorial I’ll give you 5 stars!!!!!
Thank you for using anti seize... so few people regularly take this step.
I didn't see him use anti seize and it's unnecessary for this job
Yep on the hub. Nvm

great video, thank you! just doing my rear brakes today. great attention to detail
It's a good thing your wife doesn't ask you to move your equipment out of her GARAGE, you got a nice set up, good break down of the step by step

Love your channel...lotsof good advice and hands on

Happy Holidays to you and the family.

Hmm, guess I’ll have to have someone else do it. A little more to it than I thought.
Awesome, Thank you! Very helpful! !
Good job dude.

Is the front brake process the same?
Can you show the brake knock back video?
Good video. Thanks alot.
Hi, the video at 2:27 time, what is the purpose of the 15-20 clicks please? I have the 2008 Nissan Armada LE. Thanks.

Caliper Reversing

Nice
well first mistake he makes is push the cylinder without opening the bleeder valve
no one opens the bleeder when retracting the pistons
What? No one opens the bleeder valve, you compress the piston and force the fluid back into the master cylinder reservoir. Most folks use a tool for this, but his method seemed to work fine for those who don’t have a tool....... if you belch it out the bleeder valve, you have to add fluid back because it will be too low in the Master Cylinder.....
and if you open that bleeder inproperly you will get air in your brake lines.
I got a question, what are you doing to the rotor with that machine your using?
he is turning his rotor in the DIY world you would just replace the rotor
He is machining it with a lathe so the rotor surface is flat and doesn't chew up the new pads prematurely.
I just did that job and the E brake light came on.
Jacob Zavala how does it feel when you drive the car
@@FixItAngel well it was my neighbors car but she said it drives fine.
Maybe i adjusted the break shoe wrong.

So you telling me he can’t buy $35 dollar for a caliper kit but risk his flat head?
sory,, if youn don't mind i wan cal you teecher,,
Those don't look OEM.
You shouldn't be afraid to speak. Without it, your video is FAR less useful.
Nissan always does dumb stuff since they merged with Renault
What do you mean?
