Yep, the writer went on social media right away to tell the fans how sorry they were, and that they would never have written the season ending that way if they had thought Fox was going to cancel the show. Kinda a good thing in the long run, though it sucked at the time. Not sure if 'Save Lucifer' would have had the same intensity if it had ended better, and Netflix turned out being great for the show. Thank you higher maturity ratings!

Don’t know what “writer” you’re talking about but the show runners AND lead writers, henderson and modrovich, have repeatedly said they literally wrote it that way BECAUSE they knew the show was on the bubble and felt fox was canceling the show. They were certain the reveal to chloe would draw enough ratings to save it but fox actually ended up canceling the show like 10 days before this finale aired. They announced the cancellation right before the epsiode prior to this one. Then everyone involved ramped up their social media efforts to save the show but fox only caved in enough to give the fans a “2 hour special” the next week with the 2 unaired episodes. It took Netflix a couple of weeks after that to save the show.

I would have been quite displeased to say the least! Thankfully that didn't happen and we got a much more `satisfying` ending. Thanks in large part to people feeling just like you did and letting it be known. Loudly.
Fox actually canceled the show BEFORE the finale. So if you were a fan, you knew before this aired that it was the end. Fox literally marketed it as “the series finale” leading up to the airing. If you’re going to pretend to be one of the original show fans, at least use basic google to get your timelines straight.

@@dogstar75 uuff… yeah that’s not how it works. It was also on FOX in the UK and it was streamed on Amazon video the next day up until the Netflix pick up. Netflix only had the rights to prior seasons. Current seasons were on amazon video in the UK and hulu jn the US and both streamed 24 hours after US airing meaning sometimes it streamed earlier than network in the UK. By the time this episode aired on Netflix UK, Netflix had already renewed the show for season 4. Want to try again?

Watch 25 and 26, even though they do not flow in the same time line as this finale. 25 focuses on Ella and there is a surprising twist there.... And 26 has God narrating on what might happen if he changed one tiny little detail in history. Then the story continues with season 4 episode 1. But the two "filler" episodes are part of the overall story and important, just not telling how Chloe reacts to seeing the truth just yet.
When I'm an adult I will watch Lucifer with my mom so me and her both get to scream at moments like this, I'm 13 and Lucifer is 14+ but I would be so embarassed to watch it with her at 14 anyway 💀

25 Feels a little off because it was scripted as part of season 4 before they knew Fox was canceling the show, but is very good.
