- Sup youtube friends in this video i go through the process of completely taking out the HICAS system in a 90-93 300zx twin turbo, only other thing i could of done to get rid of the return line was remove the pump and modify it, however it was easier to just loop the return back to the reservoir for the time being. Thanks for watching guys if you have any questions comment below and dont forget to like and subscribe, let me kno what you guys want to see. Thanks for watching!
These are the kind of videos that I appreciate the most. Cut to the chase, real and very informative! Are you using the NA PS pump or TT?
Toai Garcia i appreciate it bro thank you! It’s still the turbo pump, the NA pump wouldnt have the extra line (Hicas Solenoid Line) and the reservoir wouldnt have the other port where i hooked up the return line. I could remove the pump and plug up the solenoid ports,l and get a NA reservoir or just plug up the other port, however it was much easier to do it this way, whenever i do a job where i have to remove the pump or be near it then ill consider modifying the pump and getting rid of the second line.
Been years but great video. Did you have any problems afterwards, deleting that connector and just hooking the line straight to reservoir at the end of the video?
No i still drive the car everyday and it has not leaked one drop. 🤘🏽
@@projectzs1993 my man! Saving myself 30$ then 😂
@@projectzs1993 fyi…3 years no new Z content?
@@aarongraybeal5503 lets just say alot has transpired in those last 3 years in my personal life and family life and just cant catch a break financially with the legal system lol. Aside from the personal stuff, the HR was state reffed while driving normal taking my dog to her appointment for being too loud lol. That finally got dismissed April 19th. I was staying lowkey with the car stuff while the state ref was being taking care of by my lawyer, Covid slowed the process down forsure. I did get a new Z so when i make an update video ill touch up on all the aforementioned a bit, the status on the Z’s etc..
Im glad i was able to help you with the HICAS line. I have so many deletes on the z32, ive probably removed over 200+ pounds lol
@@projectzs1993 gotcha bro. I’ll subscribe :) I’ve had a few power steering leaks but was trying to keep a lot of stuff stock. Only really did the egr and coolant lines under plenum. About to do this though. Over spots in the driveway showing up lol
Did you wind up having any leaks after you removed the collar and went with the more direct route for the lines?
No sir no leaks at all and it looks more clean without the collar👌
Hi nice job, but where but where I can get the connector that joint the lines once you delete the selenoid
Sorry for the late response, honestly i wouldnt bother with the collar fitting, watch the end of my video, i deleted the collar fitting and connected the PS line straight to the reservoir, looks more clean in the engine bay.
Yo G does the motor need to be taken out to take power steering pump out?
No sir it doesnt, its easier if you remove the intake/intercooler hoses/vac/boost lines and remove radiator, plenty of room then, the radiator can stay in, but since its so easy to remove i personally remove it, perfect time for a coolant flush🤷🏽♂️
Why is it cancelled
Is it insecure?
Good tips in doing this right now. How much did you pay for the hicas delete eBay used to sell them
Mario Carrillo sub bro! I got mine off Z1 cant remember the exact price but its pretty cheap for the bar. Dont bother with the collar fitting, just do what i did at the end of the video.
What is the benefit by delete the Hicas?
Gerardo Martorell well for some 300zx’s it fails so that would be a good time to delete if you dont care for it. In my case, after 400+ whp and 550wtq, that system becomes very unpredictable under load, especially a dig, can cause the car to lose control after a certain amount of power, which i experienced so i deleted it and the cars stright line performance is alot better.
i had hicas on my R32 for about a month and deleted it. it feels nasty, only way to describe it is steering choices being made for you, but choices you wouldn’t make
omg it was red... and it’s been painted black?? red is the best colour on a z32
says the guy with a blue one lol
Im debating just sanding it all down haha
Did your HICAS light stay on after you deleted the system?
Balmore Solorio I never had issuss with the HICAS light before and or after the delete.
Hi could you sell me the rear pump hicas and the presurre lines ?
Gerardo Martorell email me (gjp559@yahoo.com)
The line that you cut where does it lead to?
Luiz Martinez Im assuming you are talking about the end of the video? The line i cut comes from the PS pump and hooks up to the OEM solenoid that i removed and put the collar in place, however it kept leaking so i cut it and connected it straight to the PS reservoir to eliminate the collar fitting as well.
ProjectZs doing mine right now kinda confused but im getting it
Luiz Martinez let me know how it goes and if you still need help. 👌
ProjectZs have to replace the hose from the pump to the rack lmao shits ripped
Luiz Martinez dam sorry bro, our cars are a pain, love hate relationship lol
