I had a landlady that used to spend 3-4 days cleaning the tripe. She would also use bicarbonate of soda and soak it, she would use a blade to get to the parts that were stubborn and wash it like a cloth. Thank you for your explanation and tutorial. ❤
I am glad you shared this information concerning how tripe is cleaned in America! I love it to make stew! I always thought it was white naturally! Now I want to know how to buy it in its natural state!
Thank you for this video, I was cleaning my tripe with just hot water and was tired as in fed up. Wanted to throw it out cos it's not perfectly clean as I want. I just decided to check RUclips and your video was the first one and I saw the margic to use... baking soda and vinegar It's like magic. Came out very clean 👌. Thank you
I did not buy it from the store. I bought it from an animal farm. If you know where you can buy live animals (goats, cows, etc) from in your state, they usually sell the organs and other parts of the animal that don't make it to the store.
Thanks for the info. According to my research, they are bleached with a chemical that changes the color and taste of the tripe. It may not be exactly the same as the ones used for laundry, but I do not think that it is healthy no matter what they call it. Thanks for watching.
I have seen people eat unscraped tripe and I always thought that they don't know how to clean it. I am surprised that that is not the case, that they actually prefer it that way just like you said. I guess eating it that way is a delicacy for you and others that prefer that version.
I think there’s a culture difference here, what’s the point of removing the furry skin? It’s called meat towels for a purpose,if that is gone then eating cow/goat tripe is of no use 😢.
You are right about the cultural difference. I am even shocked that people eat it with the furry stuff on. Believe it or not it tastes better without that furry stuff but maybe not to you because you have acquired the taste of the furry stuff. Thanks for watching.
Because some people don't like or eat it and it does not taste good to them. Before I made this video, I never knew that some people love to eat it the way it is. It came as a shock to me just the way it shocks you that people remove the top layer. I used to think that they did not know how to clean it or didn't want to do the tedious work. I am surprised that they actually love it the way it is.
Do you mean the short hair after it is cleansed? If yes, I don't know because I never saw a need to get rid of it. But if you want to get rid of it, try shaving it off with a sharp knife or blade.
It looks like you are used to eating unscraped tripe. There are people who would find it hard to eat unscraped tripe because they are used to eating the scraped version
Thanks for watching. Please subscribe, like and share the video. Thanks in advance.

3-4 days? Well it is possible because it is tedious work. Thanks for watching.
@@SpicyDeliciousGoodness she liked hers really white and really clean 🤭

I buy them from the animal farm. The ones sold at the stores are always clean.

You're welcome! So glad it helped. Thanks for watching.
I noticed the difference of taste to the tripe in America. Thank you so much for your explanations and showing your method of cleaning.
Glad it was helpful! Thanks for watching.
Oh my gosh I never suspected they did that to the American tripe!!! I wondered why yours was brown! Crazy! Thank you
Thanks for watching.
Thank you for this video. If one is not going to use tripe immediately, can cleaned tripe be placed in a refrigerator and for how long?
Yes you can. I would treat it the way I treat fresh meat. I generally freeze meat if I am not going use it within a day. Thanks for watching.
I never knew it takes all that work. Thanks for this and I subscribed too 🎉
Awesome! Thank you!
please where or what store did you bought your shaki. I have never seen this type of shaki in united state

I use salt and water. It’s works well too.
Really? I will give it a try. Thanks for sharing.
Hi Mexican/American here. It’s “bleached” with food grade lye not the bleach you use for your clothes.
Thanks for the info. According to my research, they are bleached with a chemical that changes the color and taste of the tripe. It may not be exactly the same as the ones used for laundry, but I do not think that it is healthy no matter what they call it. Thanks for watching.
Me l like with those things you cleaned out

We eat that part that you are removing.
It is true that some people do it that part. Thanks for watching.
Bought some tripe and by the time I pour hot water on it the bleach scent was evident. I had to pour it out😢😢
So sorry to hear that.
Wow 😳
Thank you so much!!
You're welcome!

What is wild?

Why are you removing the towel part, that is good stuff😢

How to remove those little little short hair?

Well, you don't have to clean your tripe if you don't want to. Some people eat only cleaned tripe and so this video is for them. Thanks for watching.
Vinegar cleans the browness
Thanks
Scraped tripe is a big no for me
It looks like you are used to eating unscraped tripe. There are people who would find it hard to eat unscraped tripe because they are used to eating the scraped version
Some people it the unscraped brown tripe....
I am sorry. I will pass
You African?
Is that not obvious?
You can buy it clean in my country ready to cook
Lucky you. If you can get someone to clean it without using harmful chemicals, why not. Thanks for watching.
