    🌠🚂Hi and welcome to Aidan's Railways🚂🌠
    ✅1st: My channel is aimed at adult model makers and collectors of railway related models.
    ✅2nd: My channel also covers visits to railways around the U.K. in various gauges.
    ✅3rd: My channel also covers events that myself and my brother attend in relation to his classic car collection.
    ✅ Aidans railways is a channel where i shall bring you reviews of railway related models, the construction of various layouts in different gauges (OO, OO9, N, O & G).
    ✅For years i have collected models, locomotives, rolling stock and scenery with the plan to build Aidan's Railways.
    ✅I have used the term "Railways" because there will ultimately be more than one railway and in various gauges.
    ✅I have a real passion for railways and model making.
    💖So follow me as i go through reviewing my stock, New Purchase's, Constructing the Railways and getting Inspiration from our Days out and visiting railways and related locations💖

    Wow this is awesome, I'd been planning to motorise a dapol kit about 6 years ago before I stopped playing with trains. Now I'm back at it and ive built a few wagon kits, this video has given me inspiration to give it a go! (Also have that LEGO Falcon :) )

      Back in 2012 I thought about doing this but didn’t bother. If Aidan hadn’t wanted one and challenged me to I probably wouldn’t of. It’s a really cheap alternative and rewarding

    Kitbashing is something I don’t see many people doing any more, I’ve recently gotten into it, my first kitbash being a Dapol/Rosebud Prairie body on an Airfix GMR chassis, of course a simple modification but one I’m proud of nonetheless, more recently I’ve begun another Dapol Prairie kitbash, this time on a modified Triang Jinty chassis (bigger wheels, bogies, kit’s valve gear), after that I’m debating on doing either the School or City on the Triang L1 chassis, definitely considering the Bulleid and at some point I wanna have a stab at the Deltic, as crude as the kits are by modern standards they can look fairly decent if built right, which I can quite happily say you have achieved! And something I hope to achieve as well

    Quality work.
    My dad took their schools class and bullied pacific and made them chassis way back when. He also did their standard 4 up with a chassis kit from branchlines. Ofcourse now you can just go buy all these things but it certainly puts into perspective how much work used to go into getting a model of some of these things.

      Hi Jay. I have heard of many people using the kits in the past with kit bashed chassis to make them run. This is a fairly simple model to do it with fairly little modification. Cheers

    Hi there, a couple of years ago - before the Covid crisis - I purchased a Deltic kit. What with one thing or another, it got pushed to the back of the drawer. I saw your video and thought i would have a go at that. But search as I might I couldn't find the kit, so I ordered another. Sod's law, or Murphy's law, being what it is, on the day the kit arrived I found the old kit! The new kit was badly warped with one side almost completely bent over itself. But I had the spares of the old kit now and was able to produce a model. I've since learned that you can get a brass detailing kit for the Dapol model and Fox Transfers do a set of decals and etched plates, so guess what - I'm going to have another go and see if I can make a better model, Thanks for your video. I really enjoy them. Thanks again.

      Hi @Alfiejohn Chester. Thank you so much. It is a great little cheap model and has so much scope for further improvement. I am glad to say that the model from this project is still going strong. In fact only recently I had this one out on the test track just to see how it was fairing.
      Once again thank you for the kind words, we really appreciate it and sorry for the delay getting back to you.
      Cheers

    Well me and my lad have built a Spitfire and the Tirpitz this summer. We were wondering what next. Here it is. Thank you for the inspiration. Kit and glass ordered. Looking for a donor Deltic now 😊👍👍

      Did you use the existing lugs on the side of the Lima model to clip the prototype body to the donor chassis?

    • @AidansRailways
      @AidansRailways  4 года назад

      That is brilliant. I'm so glad that this video has helped and given some inspiration

    • @AidansRailways
      @AidansRailways  4 года назад +1

      Yes i used the existing lugs, i did need to file the openings on the body shell slightly with a file just to get it just right

    Thank you for this super video and tutorial. I have wanted to do this for some time. Have now subscribed and look forward to more of your great work. Well done!
    Just one thing I missed was how the Lima chassis locates in the new body. Did you make any cutouts etc?

    • @AidansRailways
      @AidansRailways  4 года назад +1

      Hi and thank you Clifford. The Lima chassis fits in the same way it did on its original shell. With the moldings of the Dapol kit being so old I had to lightly file it’s locating holes ever so slightly to get a good fit but it is very very easy. Cheers 👍

    Great video Aidan I would love to get hold of a prototype Deltic one day but the Bachmann ones are really expensive
    Also can I ask what you used for the grey as I can’t find the actual one that was made by Phoenix precision

    • @AidansRailways
      @AidansRailways  4 года назад

      Hi David. Before lockdown I was offered a Bachmann Deltic and turned it down. The actual grey I used was Humbrol intercity grey from their rail colour range. I had a number of these left after I did the HSTp and it looked pretty close for this model. I have to say Phoenix Deltic blue was a great paint to use and I think I will try a few more of their items

      Hi David. It does feature running in a couple of other videos including the channel video. At the time of construction there was nothing out for it to run freely on. Cheers
