Excellent build review Matt! Yes, I would download this and I think the cost of the train is quite reasonable when you consider everything you need to complete it. It is a lot cheaper than purchasing a ready to run model. Thanks for sharing this.

I use EMA 'Plastic Weld' to stick 3D printed parts together. It's never let me down. It's astonishing stuff.

Nicely done, the addition of leds makes such a difference. I have one, on that chassis, looks great, done in early BR green. The chassis is no longer available, hornby didn't seem to like people making their own OO gauge locos, but if you buy the 0-4-0 loco 2nd hand quite cheaply, swap bodies if you want an original shunter like model minutes produced. Thanks for sharing.

This would make a great military-themed train set! All you need is a track-mat, train controller with power pack, an oval of track with siding and there we go!

Excellent models, well thought out. There are plenty of similar locomotives available as 3d prints, especially small industrials.

looks great! perhaps you could build or use some of the flatbeds you already have to put 1/76 tanks on top of. I bet it would look really cool.

UHU Allplast is good for 3D prints. It is a bit thick, though. It is both a cement and a glue (it will stick to 3D print, and "melt" injection molded surfaces).

The RAF had a short (6 miles i've heard) into their RAF training base at Halton pre war, apparently it once carried an early BF 109 for the apprentices to train on!Sadly I've never seen any photo's of the rolling stock.

Like what you have achieved. The loco chassis is no longer available on Hornby site, thus for me not able to complete the build of the loco. The wagons I can do and in time may try. Thanks for the video found it very interesting and helpful.

You might be able to find the chassis second hand or off a cheap loco and swap out the body

Wondering if the Ibertren, Bachman’s or Arnold 0-4-0 chassis would fit the kits, as Hornby no longer available.

    • @ModelMinutes

Maybe, i know it was designed specifically for the Hornby one though. The others may need modification to get it to fit

Thank you so much for this video. I got in touch with Budget Model Railways on a whim quite a while after watching (obviously) this, they created two WW2 pillboxes for me within the last week in 00 gauge, you all need bigging up more, this channel and Budget model railways. The WW2 Pickett Hamilton fort alone is worth a look..especially for people into WW2 fighter/bomber stations. Check them out seriously!

I really like the model, great job and from my experience with superglue i recommend blowing humid air or adding water to make it bond instantly.

    • @brianartillery

Baking powder makes it set instantly, and can be built up to fill holes, etc. It goes really solid, and can be drilled, filed, and cut. It takes paint of all kinds very well, too. A light spray of Isopropyl alcohol will set superglue, too. A small warning, though: setting accelerants cause an exothermic reaction, which is over very quickly, but which can give a painful burn.

I like military modelling but I don't like the BMR kits. I bought one and it was dreadful. It was too big and looked awful when complete. I never used it on my layout. I got my money back from a further order. Hopefully they have improved with more experience.
