Extremely funny episode with Hopsing in delightful form. Pity that Adam was conspicuous by his absence so early in the series, a trend that would deepen over the following years until his departure from the series in 1965. Thanks for sharing, Grjngo
Another great episode. Many Chinese were helpful along the way. Ben and the others would be out to sea without them. Drama, betrayal, loyalty, comedy and action are all here!! Thanks Grjngo
FYI, Victor Sen Yung, a native of San Francisco who played Hop Sing, also played #2 Son in the Charlie Chan movies with Sidney Toler. James Hong, Hop Sing’s cousin, is a fine working actor still active today at age 92. He has over 400 credits going back to 1955!
This is one of my favorite episodes. Few were better than the four of them with their chemistry and natural humor. My favorite scene is when they're looking for hoss and he sends someone crashing through the wall and Joe says "We found him!!" 😂
Hop Sing did a lot with Charlie Chan too. In the late 60s early 70s He was shot during a highjacking of a plane not sure if he was one of the highjackers or not! I'll look it up and post it! It's amazing how memoirs come back while watching old shows like this!
Larry White 1916-1990 was best remembered as Larry Tate in the long running Bewitched TV series 1964-1970, where he acted with Dick York and Elizabeth Montgomery, a series I very much enjoyed.
This is another of my favorite episodes of Bonanza, so I Thank You Grjngo for getting this on YT for us to watch. I didn't know the actor James Hong (number 3 cousin) had a small part on this one and I got a chuckle when he says "okay" at 39:31 to Hop Sing.
I may only be 30 but out of the 3 sons, gimme Hoss any day. Hes the ideal man. Kind. Strong. But dont cross him. Adam and joes looks and wit dont match up to Hoss's personality.
Adam Pernell Roberts was always complaining about the how the show was written. He said it wasn’t believable 3 grown men still living at home and taking orders from Pa. I like the episodes without him. He always seemed grumpy 😠 or complaining 😮
The little red headed gal Was a real hustler She didn't give the guy all the money She made good money No black eye Got a kiss from little Joe She did lose her Darrenger
@@ApartmentKing66 wouldn't surprise me if many of the Chinese have since left after the homeless turned San Francisco into a Waste Dump with the help of the Corrupt politicians like Nancy Pelosi!
People can take their "outdated cultural depictions" and shove them. Hop Sing rocks SOOO hard! Joe Pesci wishes he could steal scenes like that. Hop Sing stole nearly every scene he was ever in. SHANGHAI!!
That was fun! Thanks for downloading this great Bonanza! I forgot to add, is that Larry White from Bewitched? I think so. and the other man from the Dirty Dozen? He played the part of Ernest Borgnine's (sp) secretary.
What a disguise will do: I didn't recognize Richard Deacon at first (as the sea captain). I'm so used to seeing him in horn-rimmed glasses and bald head, the hat and absence of glasses threw me.
@InvestorGuy66. I recognized him immediately because of his very distinct voice. Otherwise, I would not have recognized him right away without the glasses.
San Francisco in 1861, and the guys are carrying Colt 1873 revolvers. Just like The Rifleman who had a 1892 Winchester in a story that happened in the 1870's & 1880's. These fictional characters must have been getting their guns from Marty McFly, delivered in his time machine.
The revolver Hoss draws isnt a Colt 1873 - looks like a Remington 1860 Army..so fine for 1861... .you can see the gap as the lower front beyond the cylinder, which is a typical feature of cap and ball revolvers, as the ball has to be loaded from the front of the cylinder. Also the triangular section tapers from the cylinder to the bottom of the barrel
The Idea of using Meat as a Remedy for Bruises means the meat has to be Cold in order to have any soothing effect. Your comment was assuming that temperature was the soothing factor, whereas the amino acids that make up beef protein may have played a role. It's possible. Healing is aided by aminos.
Yeah I read it I think it picked up off my tablet I was watching something else on my tablet and I think it picked it up I wasn't trying to make any kind of comment I don't know how I got on there
This was a good episode about human trafficking & the evils of the human heart.
The Cartwright's plus Hopsing a great combination 😂 lol
Dang... Hoss was a beast in this one! 🤠

Victor Sen Yung had no accent in real life. Like Pat Morita in "Karate Kid," he assumed it for the role.

This is so refreshing and restful to see just normal good moral people where men are men and women are lovely women.

This episode is loads of fun! 😄

Sounds crazy 😮
gotta admire ben cartwright for standing up against injustice & laziness in the police department to find his men.
For the record Ben Cartwright is priceless ❤️
He really is! 🤠👌🎬🍿
150😂
Ben Cartwright was the original TV father figure, but like most of us men . A goodlooking redhead is like honey to a bear.
Hop Sings Cousins are handy to have around!
Hoss would spend the rest of his life trying to find out what his father sold for.

Hop Sing is the only one with any sense.
That's right, it's because he knows that district very well. There were, and still are 160 years later, a LOT of Chinese in San Francisco.

That police man's mentality is probably why San Francisco is in the state it is in today.
